Abstract: Nowadays the use of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) is increasing dramatically. The HEV is mainly dependent on electricity and there is always a need for storage of charge. Fuel Cell (FC), Batteries and Ultra Capacitor are being used for the proposed HEV as an electric power source or as an energy storage unit. The aim of developing an energy management technique is to utilize the sources according to the requirement of the vehicle with help of controller. This increases the efficiency of hybrid electric vehicle to reduce the fuel consumption and unwanted emission. The Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) in FC is done using (Perturb & Observe) algorithm. In this paper, the control of automobiles at variable speed is achieved effectively.
Abstract: Optimal Power Flow (OPF) problem in electrical power system is considered as a static, non-linear, multi-objective or a single objective optimization problem. This paper presents an algorithm for solving the voltage stability objective reactive power dispatch problem in a power system .The proposed approach employs cat swarm optimization algorithm for optimal settings of RPD control variables. Generator terminal voltages, reactive power generation of the capacitor banks and tap changing transformer setting are taken as the optimization variables. CSO algorithm is tested on standard IEEE 30 bus system and the results are compared with other methods to prove the effectiveness of the new algorithm. As a result, the proposed method is the best for solving optimal reactive power dispatch problem.
Abstract: In this article, coordinated tuning of power system stabilizer (PSS) with static var compensator (SVC) and thyristor controlled series capacitor (TCSC) in multi-machine power system is proposed. The design of proposed coordinated damping controller is formulated as an optimization problem and the controller gains are optimized instantaneously using advanced adaptive particle swarm optimization (AAPSO). The objective function is framed with the inter-area speed deviations of the generators and it is minimized using AAPSO to improve the dynamic stability of power system under severe disturbance. The proposed coordinated controller performance is evaluated under a wide range of system operating conditions with three-phase fault disturbance. Using time domain simulations the damping characteristics of proposed controller is compared with individually tuned PSS, SVC and TCSC controllers. Finally, the real-time simulations are carried out in Opal-RT hardware simulator to synchronize the proposed controller performance in the real world.

The KB system is analyzed for a step variation of load and performance of the system is investigated with a closed loop reactance control method.
Abstract: In this paper, a new CMOS current-mode single input and multi-outputs (SIMO) universal filter and quadrature oscillator with a similar circuit are proposed. The circuits only consist of three Current differencing transconductance amplifiers (CDTA) and two grounded capacitors, which are resistorless, and they are suitable for monolithic integration. The universal filter uses minimum CDTAs and passive elements to realize SIMO type low-pass (LP), high-pass (HP), band-pass (BP) band-stop (BS) and all-pass (AP) filter functions simultaneously without any component matching conditions. The angular frequency (ω0) and the quality factor (Q) of the proposed filter can be electronically controlled and tuned orthogonal. By some modifications of the filter, a new current-mode four-phase quadrature oscillator (QO) can be obtained easily. The condition of oscillation (CO) and frequency of oscillation (FO) of the QO can be controlled electronically and independently through the bias current of the CDTAs, and it is suitable for variable frequency oscillator. Moreover, all the passive and active sensitivities of the circuits are low. SPICE simulation results are included to confirm the theory.
Abstract: A new first order all-pass filter topology realized using current controlled current conveyors (CCCIIs) is introduced in this paper. Offered benefits are the high-impedance of the input node, the absence of external resistors because of the usage of CCCIIs with positive and negative intrinsic resistances, the presence of only grounded capacitors, and the capability of electronic adjustment of the phase shift through a single bias current. The correct operation of the introduced topology is conformed through simulation results, while its behavior is evaluated through comparison results.
Abstract: Currently, the High voltage power supply for microwave generators with one magnetron uses a single-phase transformer with magnetic shunt. To contribute in the development of technological innovation in industry of manufacturing of power supplies of magnetrons for microwaves, ovens for domestic or industrial use, this original work treats the optimization of a new three-phase high voltage power supply for industrial microwaves generators with N magnetrons by phase (Treated case N=1), from its modeling with Matlab-Simulink. The design of this power supply uses three π quadruple models equivalents of new three-phase transformer with magnetic shunt of each phase. Every one supplies at its output a voltage doubler cell composed of a capacitor and a diode that in its output supplies only one magnetron.
In this work we will define a strategy that aims to reduce the volume of the transformer and the weight and cost of the entire system of the high voltage power supply, while respecting the conditions recommended by the manufacturer, concerning the current flowing in each magnetron: (Imax
Abstract: Force sensor has been used as requisite for knowing information on the amount and the directions of forces on the skin surface. We have developed a four-degrees-of-freedom capacitive force sensor (approximately 20×20×5 mm3) that has a flexible structure and sixteen parallel plate capacitors. An iterative algorithm was developed for estimating four displacements from the sixteen capacitances using fourth-order polynomial approximation of characteristics between capacitance and displacement. The estimation results from measured capacitances had large error caused by deterioration of the characteristics. In this study, effective capacitors had major information were selected on the basis of the capacitance change range and the characteristic shape. Maximum errors in calibration and non-calibration points were 25%and 6.8%.However the maximum error was larger than desired value, the smallness of averaged value indicated the occurrence of a few large error points. On the other hand, error in non-calibration point was within desired value.
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to identify an optimum
control strategy of three-phase shunt active filters to minimize the total harmonic distortion factor of the supply current. A classical PIPI cascade control solution of the output current of the active filterand the voltage across the DC capacitor based on Modulus–Optimum
criterion is taken into consideration. The control system operation
has been simulated using Matlab-Simulink environment and the results agree with the theoretical expectation. It is shown that there is
an optimum value of the DC-bus voltage which minimizes the supply current harmonic distortion factor. It corresponds to the equality of the apparent power at the output of the active filter and the apparent power across the capacitor. Finally, predicted results are verified experimentally on a MaxSine active power filter.
Abstract: A vertical SOI-based MOSFET with trench body
structure operated as 1T DRAM cell at various temperatures has been
studied and investigated. Different operation temperatures are
assigned for the device for its performance comparison, thus the
thermal stability is carefully evaluated for the future memory device
applications. Based on the simulation, the vertical SOI-based
MOSFET with trench body structure demonstrates the electrical
characteristics properly and possess conspicuous kink effect at
various operation temperatures. Transient characteristics were also
performed to prove that its programming window values and
retention time behaviors are acceptable when the new 1T DRAM cell
is operated at high operation temperature.

The operational amplifier designed, has a gain of 93.51db at low frequencies. It has a gain bandwidth product of 55.07MHz, phase margin of 51.9º and a slew rate of 22v/us for a load of capacitor of 10pF.
Abstract: Accurate modeling of high speed RLC interconnects
has become a necessity to address signal integrity issues in current
VLSI design. To accurately model a dispersive system of interconnects
at higher frequencies; a full-wave analysis is required.
However, conventional circuit simulation of interconnects with full
wave models is extremely CPU expensive. We present an algorithm
for reducing large VLSI circuits to much smaller ones with similar
input-output behavior. A key feature of our method, called Frequency
Shift Technique, is that it is capable of reducing linear time-varying
systems. This enables it to capture frequency-translation and sampling
behavior, important in communication subsystems such as mixers,
RF components and switched-capacitor filters. Reduction is obtained
by projecting the original system described by linear differential
equations into a lower dimension. Experiments have been carried out
using Cadence Design Simulator cwhich indicates that the proposed
technique achieves more % reduction with less CPU time than the
other model order reduction techniques existing in literature. We
also present applications to RF circuit subsystems, obtaining size
reductions and evaluation speedups of orders of magnitude with
insignificant loss of accuracy.

chosen to compare all the vital features and the results for the
Proposed Equivalent CMOS are promising. In the end, the excerpts
of the created algorithm are also included
Abstract: Using strength Pulse Electrical Field (PEF) in food
industries is a non-thermal process that can deactivate
microorganisms and increase penetration in plant and animals tissues
without serious impact on food taste and quality. In this paper designing and fabricating of a PEF generator has been presented. Pulse generation methods have been surveyed and the best of them
selected. The equipment by controller set can generate square pulse with adjustable parameters such as amplitude 1-5kV, frequency 0.1-10Hz, pulse width 10-100s, and duty cycle 0-100%. Setting the number of pulses, and presenting the output voltage and current
waveforms on the oscilloscope screen are another advantages of this
equipment. Finally, some food samples were tested that yielded the satisfactory results. PEF applying had considerable effects on potato, banana and purple cabbage. It caused increase Brix factor from 0.05
to 0.15 in potato solution. It is also so effective in extraction color material from purple cabbage. In the last experiment effects of PEF
voltages on color extraction of saffron scum were surveyed (about 6% increasing yield).
Abstract: Nonlinear and unbalance loads in three phase
networks create harmonics and losses. Active and passive filters are
used for elimination or reduction of these effects. Passive filters have
some limitations. For example, they are designed only for a specific
frequency and they may cause to resonance in the network at the
point of common coupling. The other drawback of a passive filter is
that the sizes of required elements are normally large. The active
filter can improve some of limitations of passive filter for example;
they can eliminate more than one harmonic and don't cause resonance
in the network. In this paper inverter analysis have been done
simultaneously in three phase and the RL impedance of the line have
been considered. A sliding mode control based on energy feedback of
capacitors is employed in the design with this method, the dynamic
speed of the filter is improved effectively and harmonics and load
unbalance is compensating quickly.
Abstract: When a high DC voltage is applied to a capacitor with
strongly asymmetrical electrodes, it generates a mechanical force that
affects the whole capacitor. This phenomenon is most likely to be
caused by the motion of ions generated around the smaller of the two
electrodes and their subsequent interaction with the surrounding
medium. A method to measure this force has been devised and used.
A formula describing the force has also been derived. After
comparing the data gained through experiments with those acquired
using the theoretical formula, a difference was found above a certain
value of current. This paper also gives reasons for this difference.
Abstract: Reduced switching loss favours Pulse Skipping
Modulation mode of switching dc-to-dc converters at light loads.
Under certain conditions the converter operates in discontinuous
conduction mode (DCM). Inductor current starts from zero in each
switching cycle as the switching frequency is constant and not
adequately high. A DC-to-DC buck converter is modelled and
simulated in this paper under DCM. Effect of ESR of the filter
capacitor in input current frequency components is studied. The
converter is studied for its operation under input voltage and load
variation. The operating frequency is selected to be close to and
above audio range.
Abstract: A fast settling multipath CMOS OTA for high speed
switched capacitor applications is presented here. With the basic
topology similar to folded-cascode, bandwidth and DC gain of the
OTA are enhanced by adding extra paths for signal from input to
output. Designed circuit is simulated with HSPICE using level 49
parameters (BSIM 3v3) in 0.35mm standard CMOS technology. DC
gain achieved is 56.7dB and Unity Gain Bandwidth (UGB) obtained
is 1.15GHz. These results confirm that adding extra paths for signal
can improve DC gain and UGB of folded-cascode significantly.
Abstract: As there are also graph methods of circuit analysis in
addition to algebraic methods, it is, in theory, clearly possible to
carry out an analysis of a whole switched circuit in two-phase
switching exclusively by the graph method as well. This article deals
with two methods of full-graph solving of switched circuits: by
transformation graphs and by two-graphs. It deals with the circuit
switched capacitors and the switched current, too. All methods are
presented in an equally detailed steps to be able to compare.
Abstract: This paper presents a new and efficient approach for
capacitor placement in radial distribution systems that determine
the optimal locations and size of capacitor with an objective of
improving the voltage profile and reduction of power loss. The
solution methodology has two parts: in part one the loss sensitivity
factors are used to select the candidate locations for the capacitor
placement and in part two a new algorithm that employs Plant growth
Simulation Algorithm (PGSA) is used to estimate the optimal size
of capacitors at the optimal buses determined in part one. The main
advantage of the proposed method is that it does not require any
external control parameters. The other advantage is that it handles the
objective function and the constraints separately, avoiding the trouble
to determine the barrier factors. The proposed method is applied to 9
and 34 bus radial distribution systems. The solutions obtained by the
proposed method are compared with other methods. The proposed
method has outperformed the other methods in terms of the quality
of solution.
