Abstract: We try to give a solution of version control for
documents in web service, that-s why we propose a new approach
used specially for the XML documents. The new approach is applied
in a centralized repository, this repository coexist with other
repositories in a decentralized system. To achieve the activities of
this approach in a standard model we use the ECA active rules. We
also show how the Event-Condition-Action rules (ECA rules) have
been incorporated as a mechanism for the version control of
documents. The need to integrate ECA rules is that it provides a clear
declarative semantics and induces an immediate operational
realization in the system without the need for human intervention.
Abstract: In the real application of active control systems to
mitigate the response of structures subjected to sever external
excitations such as earthquake and wind induced vibrations, since the
capacity of actuators is limited then the actuators saturate. Hence, in
designing controllers for linear and nonlinear structures under sever
earthquakes, the actuator saturation should be considered as a
constraint. In this paper optimal design of active controllers for
nonlinear structures by considering the actuator saturation has been
studied. To this end a method has been proposed based on defining
an optimization problem which considers the minimizing of the
maximum displacement of the structure as objective when a limited
capacity for actuator has been used as a constraint in optimization
problem. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method, a
single degree of freedom (SDF) structure with a bilinear hysteretic
behavior has been simulated under a white noise ground acceleration
of different amplitudes. Active tendon control mechanism, comprised
of pre-stressed tendons and an actuator, and extended nonlinear
Newmark method based instantaneous optimal control algorithm
have been used as active control mechanism and algorithm. To
enhance the efficiency of the controllers, the weights corresponding
to displacement, velocity, acceleration and control force in the
performance index have been found by using the Distributed Genetic
Algorithm (DGA). According to the results it has been concluded
that the proposed method has been effective in considering the
actuator saturation in designing optimal controllers for nonlinear
frames. Also it has been shown that the actuator capacity and the
average value of required control force are two important factors in
designing nonlinear controllers for considering the actuator
saturation.
Abstract: A control system design with Characteristic Ratio
Assignment (CRA) is proven that effective for SISO control design.
But the control system design for MIMO via CRA is not concrete
procedure. In this paper presents the control system design method
for quadruple-tank process via CRA. By using the decentralized
method for both minimum phase and non-minimum phase are made.
The results from PI and PID controller design via CRA can be
illustrated the validity of our approach by MATLAB.
Abstract: Sensory input plays an important role to human
posture control system to initiate strategy in order to counterpart any
unbalance condition and thus, prevent fall. In previous study, joint
stiffness was observed able to describe certain issues regarding to
movement performance. But, correlation between balance ability and
joint stiffness is still remains unknown. In this study, joint stiffening
strategy at ankle and hip were observed under different sensory
manipulations and its correlation with conventional clinical test
(Functional Reach Test) for balance ability was investigated. In order
to create unstable condition, two different surface perturbations (tilt
up-tilt (TT) down and forward-backward (FB)) at four different
frequencies (0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 Hz) were introduced. Furthermore,
four different sensory manipulation conditions (include vision and
vestibular system) were applied to the subject and they were asked to
maintain their position as possible. The results suggested that joint
stiffness were high during difficult balance situation. Less balance
people generated high average joint stiffness compared to balance
people. Besides, adaptation of posture control system under repetitive
external perturbation also suggested less during sensory limited

Abstract: In this paper a new maximum power point tracking
algorithm for photovoltaic arrays is proposed. The algorithm detects
the maximum power point of the PV. The computed maximum
power is used as a reference value (set point) of the control system.
ON/OFF power controller with hysteresis band is used to control the
operation of a Buck chopper such that the PV module always
operates at its maximum power computed from the MPPT algorithm.
The major difference between the proposed algorithm and other
techniques is that the proposed algorithm is used to control directly
the power drawn from the PV.
The proposed MPPT has several advantages: simplicity, high
convergence speed, and independent on PV array characteristics. The
algorithm is tested under various operating conditions. The obtained
results have proven that the MPP is tracked even under sudden
change of irradiation level.
Abstract: To deal with random delays in Networked Control System (NCS), Modified Fuzzy PID Controller is introduced in this paper to implement real-time control adaptively. Via adjusting the control signal dynamically, the system performance is improved. In this paper, the design process and the ultimate simulation results are represented. Finally, examples and corresponding comparisons prove the significance of this method.
Abstract: The load frequency control problem of power systems has attracted a lot of attention from engineers and researchers over the years. Increasing and quickly changing load demand, coupled with the inclusion of more generators with high variability (solar and wind power generators) on the network are making power systems more difficult to regulate. Frequency changes are unavoidable but regulatory authorities require that these changes remain within a certain bound. Engineers are required to perform the tricky task of adjusting the control system to maintain the frequency within tolerated bounds. It is well known that to minimize frequency variations, a large proportional feedback gain (speed regulation constant) is desirable. However, this improvement in performance using proportional feedback comes about at the expense of a reduced stability margin and also allows some steady-state error. A conventional PI controller is then included as a secondary control loop to drive the steadystate error to zero. In this paper, we propose a robust controller to replace the conventional PI controller which guarantees performance and stability of the power system over the range of variation of the speed regulation constant. Simulation results are shown to validate the superiority of the proposed approach on a simple single-area power system model.
Abstract: Using of natural lighting has come into prominence in
constructed buildings, especially in last ten years, under scope of
energy efficiency. Natural lighting methods are one of the methods
that aim to take advantage of day light in maximum level and
decrease using of artificial lighting. Increasing of day light amount in
buildings by using suitable methods will give optimum result in
terms of comfort and energy saving when the daylight-artificial light
integration is ensured with a suitable control system. Using of natural
light in places that require lighting will ensure energy saving in great
extent. With this study, it is aimed to save energy used for purpose of
lighting. Under this scope, lighting of a scanning laboratory of a
hospital was realized by using a lighting automation containing
natural and artificial lighting. In natural lighting, light pipes were
used and in artificial lighting, dimmable power LED modules were
used. Necessity of lighting was followed with motion sensors. The
lighting automation containing natural and artificial light was ensured
with fuzzy logic control. At the scanning laboratory where this
application was realized, energy saving in lighting was obtained.
Abstract: Road Traffic Accidents are a major cause of disability and death throughout the world. The control of intelligent vehicles in order to reduce human error and boost ease congestion is not accomplished solely by the aid of human resources. The present article is an attempt to introduce an intelligent control system based on RFID technology. By the help of RFID technology, vehicles are connected to computerized systems, intelligent light poles and other available hardware along the way. In this project, intelligent control system is capable of tracking all vehicles, crisis management and control, traffic guidance and recording Driving offences along the highway.
Abstract: Wind turbine should be controlled to capture maximum
wind energy and to prevent the turbine from being stalled. To achieve
those two goals, wind turbine controller controls torque on generator
and limits input torque from wind by pitching blade. Usually, torque
on generator is controlled using inverter torque set point. However,
verifying a control algorithm in actual wind turbine needs a lot of
efforts to test and the actual wind turbine could be broken while testing
a control algorithm. So, several software have developed and
commercialized by Garrad Hassan, GH Bladed, and NREL, FAST.
Even though, those programs can simulate control system modeling
with subroutines or DLLs. However, those simulation programs are
not able to emulate detailed generator or PMSG. In this paper, a small
size wind turbine simulator is developed with induction motor and
small size drive train. The developed system can simulate wind turbine
control algorithm in the region before rated power.
Abstract: In this paper we propose the study of a centrifugal pump control system driven by a three-phase induction motor, which is supplied by a PhotoVoltaic PV generator. The system includes solar panel, a DC / DC converter equipped with its MPPT control, a voltage inverter to three-phase Pulse Width Modulation - PWM and a centrifugal pump driven by a three phase induction motor. In order to control the flow of the centrifugal pump, a Direct Torque Control - DTC of the induction machine is used. To illustrate the performances of the control, simulation results are carried out using Matlab/Simulink.
Abstract: This paper demonstrates design and construction of
microcontroller-based telephone exchange system and the aims of
this paper is to study telecommunication, connection with
PIC16F877A and DTMF MT8870D. In microcontroller system, PIC
16F877 microcontroller is used to control the call processing. Dial
tone, busy tone and ring tone are provided during call progress.
Instead of using ready made tone generator IC, oscillator based tone
generator is used. The results of this telephone exchange system are
perfect for homes and small businesses needing the extensions. It
requires the phone operation control system, the analog interface
circuit and the switching circuit. This exchange design will contain
eight channels.
It is the best low cost, good quality telephone exchange for today-s
telecommunication needs. It offers the features available in much
more expensive PBX units without using high-priced phones. It is for
long distance telephone services.
Abstract: This paper presents design features of a rescue robot, named CEO Mission II. Its body is designed to be the track wheel type with double front flippers for climbing over the collapse and the rough terrain. With 125 cm. long, 5-joint mechanical arm installed on the robot body, it is deployed not only for surveillance from the top view but also easier and faster access to the victims to get their vital signs. Two cameras and sensors for searching vital signs are set up at the tip of the multi-joint mechanical arm. The third camera is at the back of the robot for driving control. Hardware and software of the system, which controls and monitors the rescue robot, are explained. The control system is used for controlling the robot locomotion, the 5-joint mechanical arm, and for turning on/off devices. The monitoring system gathers all information from 7 distance sensors, IR temperature sensors, 3 CCD cameras, voice sensor, robot wheels encoders, yawn/pitch/roll angle sensors, laser range finder and 8 spare A/D inputs. All sensors and controlling data are communicated with a remote control station via IEEE 802.11b Wi-Fi. The audio and video data are compressed and sent via another IEEE 802.11g Wi-Fi transmitter for getting real-time response. At remote control station site, the robot locomotion and the mechanical arm are controlled by joystick. Moreover, the user-friendly GUI control program is developed based on the clicking and dragging method to easily control the movement of the arm. Robot traveling map is plotted from computing the information of wheel encoders and the yawn/pitch data. 2D Obstacle map is plotted from data of the laser range finder. The concept and design of this robot can be adapted to suit many other applications. As the Best Technique awardee from Thailand Rescue Robot Championship 2006, all testing results are satisfied.
Abstract: This paper describes the development of a control
system model using a graphical software tool. This control system is
part of an operator training simulator developed for the National
Training Center for Operators of Ixtapantongo (CNCAOI, acronym
according to its name in Spanish language) of the Mexico-s Federal
Commission of Electricity, CFE). The Department of Simulation of
the Electrical Research Institute (IIE) developed this simulator using
as reference the Unit I of the Combined Cycle Power Plant El Sauz,
located at the centre of Mexico. The first step in the project was the
developing of the Gas Turbine System and its control system
simulator. The Turbo Gas simulator was finished and delivered to
CNCAOI in March 2007 for commercial operation. This simulator is
a high-fidelity real time dynamic simulator built and tested for
accurate operation over the entire load range. The simulator was used
primarily for operator training although it has been used for
procedure development and evaluation of plant transients.
Abstract: The experimental study of position control of a light
weight and small size robotic finger during non-contact motion is
presented in this paper. The finger possesses fingertip pinching and
self adaptive grasping capabilities, and is made of a seven bar linkage
mechanism with a slider in the middle phalanx. The control system is
tested under the Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control
algorithm and Recursive Least Square (RLS) based Feedback Error
Learning (FEL) control scheme to overcome the uncertainties present
in the plant. The experiments conducted in Matlab Simulink and xPC
Target environments show that the overall control strategy is efficient
in controlling the finger movement.
Abstract: Wheeled Mobile Robots (WMRs) are built with their
Wheels- drive machine, Motors. Depend on their desire design of
WMR, Technicians made used of DC Motors for motion control. In
this paper, the author would like to analyze how to choose DC motor
to be balance with their applications of especially for WMR.
Specification of DC Motor that can be used with desire WMR is to
be determined by using MATLAB Simulink model. Therefore, this
paper is mainly focus on software application of MATLAB and
Control Technology. As the driving system of DC motor, a
Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC) based control system is
designed including the assembly software technology and H-bridge
control circuit. This Driving system is used to drive two DC gear
motors which are used to control the motion of WMR. In this
analyzing process, the author mainly focus the drive system on
driving two DC gear motors that will control with Differential Drive
technique to the Wheeled Mobile Robot . For the design analysis of
Motor Driving System, PIC16F84A is used and five inputs of sensors
detected data are tested with five ON/OFF switches. The outputs of
PIC are the commands to drive two DC gear motors, inputs of Hbridge
circuit .In this paper, Control techniques of PIC
microcontroller and H-bridge circuit, Mechanism assignments of
WMR are combined and analyzed by mainly focusing with the
“Modeling and Simulink of DC Motor using MATLAB".

Abstract: This paper presents a comparative study on two most
popular control strategies for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor
(PMSM) drives: field-oriented control (FOC) and direct torque
control (DTC). The comparison is based on various criteria including
basic control characteristics, dynamic performance, and
implementation complexity. The study is done by simulation using
the Simulink Power System Blockset that allows a complete
representation of the power section (inverter and PMSM) and the
control system. The simulation and evaluation of both control
strategies are performed using actual parameters of Permanent
Magnet Synchronous Motor fed by an IGBT PWM inverter.
Abstract: This paper describes various stages of design and prototyping of a modular robot for use in various industrial applications. The major goal of current research has been to design and make different robotic joints at low cost capable of being assembled together in any given order for achieving various robot configurations. Five different types of joins were designed and manufactured where extensive research has been carried out on the design of each joint in order to achieve optimal strength, size, modularity, and price. This paper presents various stages of research and development undertaken to engineer these joints that include material selection, manufacturing, and strength analysis. The outcome of this research addresses the birth of a new generation of modular industrial robots with a wider range of applications and greater efficiency.
Abstract: Time varying network induced delays in networked
control systems (NCS) are known for degrading control system-s
quality of performance (QoP) and causing stability problems. In
literature, a control method employing modeling of communication
delays as probability distribution, proves to be a better method. This
paper focuses on modeling of network induced delays as probability
distribution.
CAN and MIL-STD-1553B are extensively used to carry periodic
control and monitoring data in networked control systems.
In literature, methods to estimate only the worst-case delays for
these networks are available. In this paper probabilistic network
delay model for CAN and MIL-STD-1553B networks are given.
A systematic method to estimate values to model parameters from
network parameters is given. A method to predict network delay in
next cycle based on the present network delay is presented. Effect of
active network redundancy and redundancy at node level on network
delay and system response-time is also analyzed.
