Abstract: The world is in need of efficient energy conversion technologies which are affordable, accessible, and sustainable with eco-friendly nature. Solar energy is one of the cornerstones for the world’s economic growth because of its abundancy with zero carbon pollution. Among the various solar energy conversion technologies, solar thermal technology has attracted a substantial renewed interest due to its diversity and compatibility in various applications. Solar thermal systems employ concentrators, tracking systems and heat engines for electricity generation which lead to high cost and complexity in comparison with photovoltaics; however, it is compatible with distinct thermal energy storage capability and dispatchable electricity which creates a tremendous attraction. Apart from that, employing cost-effective solar selective receiver tube in a concentrating solar thermal (CST) system improves the energy conversion efficiency and directly reduces the cost of technology. In addition, the development of solar receiver tubes by low cost methods which can offer high optical properties and corrosion resistance in an open-air atmosphere would be beneficial for low and medium temperature applications. In this regard, our work opens up an approach which has the potential to achieve cost-effective energy conversion. We have developed a highly selective tandem absorber coating through a facile wet chemical route by a combination of chemical oxidation, sol-gel, and nanoparticle coating methods. The developed tandem absorber coating has gradient refractive index nature on stainless steel (SS 304) and exhibited high optical properties (α ≤ 0.95 & ε ≤ 0.14). The first absorber layer (Cr-Mn-Fe oxides) developed by controlled oxidation of SS 304 in a chemical bath reactor. A second composite layer of ZrO2-SiO2 has been applied on the chemically oxidized substrate by So-gel dip coating method to serve as optical enhancing and corrosion resistant layer. Finally, an antireflective layer (MgF2) has been deposited on the second layer, to achieve > 95% of absorption. The developed tandem layer exhibited good thermal stability up to 250 °C in open air atmospheric condition and superior corrosion resistance (withstands for > 200h in salt spray test (ASTM B117)). After the successful development of a coating with targeted properties at a laboratory scale, a prototype of the 1 m tube has been demonstrated with excellent uniformity and reproducibility. Moreover, it has been validated under standard laboratory test condition as well as in field condition with a comparison of the commercial receiver tube. The presented strategy can be widely adapted to develop highly selective coatings for a variety of CST applications ranging from hot water, solar desalination, and industrial process heat and power generation. The high-performance, cost-effective medium temperature receiver tube technology has attracted many industries, and recently the technology has been transferred to Indian industry.
Abstract: Many existing amusement parks have been operated
with assistance of a variety of information and communications
technologies to design friendly and efficient service systems for
tourists. However, these systems leave various levels of decisions to
tourists to make by themselves. This incurs pressure on tourists and
thereby bringing negative experience in their tour. This paper
proposes a smart amusement park system to offer each tourist the
GPS-based customized plan without tourists making decisions by
themselves. The proposed system consists of the mobile app
subsystem, the central subsystem, and the detecting/counting
subsystem. The mobile app subsystem interacts with the central
subsystem. The central subsystem performs the necessary computing
and database management of the proposed system. The
detecting/counting subsystem aims to detect and compute the number
of visitors to an attraction. Experimental results show that the
proposed system can not only work well, but also provide an
innovative business operating model for owners of amusement parks.
Abstract: The objectives of this study are to find out the
approaches to promote healthy recreation activities for elderly
tourists and develop Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market to be a
health tourism attraction. The research methodology was to analyze
internal and external situations according to MP-MF and the MCSTEPS
principles.
As for the results of this study the researcher found that the
healthy recreational activities for elderly tourists could be divided in
7 groups; travelling Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market activity,
homestay relaxation, arts center platform activity, healthy massage
activity, paying homage to a Buddha image activity, herbal joss-stick
home activity, making local desserts and food activity.
Abstract: The study aims to explore the relationship between risk perception of rockfall and revisit intention using a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis. A total of 573 valid questionnaires are collected from travelers to Taroko National Park, Taiwan. The findings show the majority of travelers have the medium perception of rockfall risk, and are willing to revisit the Taroko National Park. The revisit intention to Taroko National Park is influenced by hazardous preferences, willingness-to-pay, obstruction and attraction. The risk perception has an indirect effect on revisit intention through influencing willingness-to-pay. The study results can be a reference for mitigation the rockfall disaster.
Abstract: The purpose of the study is to analyze the main tourism attraction in indigenous tribes, as well as for the development of tribal aboriginal tourism brings positive and negative impacts. This study used qualitative research methods, and Lilang, Tbulan, and Hrung three tribes as the object of investigation. The results showed that: 1. Because three tribes geographical proximity, but have their own development characteristics, not conflict situations. 2. Three tribes are located in National Scenic Area and National Forest Recreation Area near, so driven tribal tourism development. 3 In addition Hrung three tribal tribal no major attraction, mainly located in the provision of accommodation; another Lilang and Tbulan tribe has natural resources and cultural resources attraction. 4 in the tourism brings positive and negative impacts, respondents expressed positive than residents of negative impacts. Based on the above findings, this study not only provides advice for tribal tourism operators, but also for future research to provide specific directions.
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the visual
preference of patterns in pedestrian roads. In this study, animation was
applied for the estimation of dynamic streetscape. Six patterns of
pedestrian were selected in order to analyze the visual preference. The
shapes are straight, s-curve, and zigzag. The ratio of building's height
and road's width are 2:1 and 1:1. Twelve adjective pairs used in the
field investigation were selected from adjectives which are used
usually in the estimation of streetscape. They are interesting-boring,
simple-complex, calm-noisy, open-enclosed, active-inactive,
lightly-depressing, regular-irregular, unique-usual, rhythmic-not
rhythmic, united-not united, stable-unstable, tidy-untidy.
Dynamic streetscape must be considered important in pedestrian
shopping mall and park because it will be an attraction. So, s-curve
pedestrian road, which is the most beautiful as a result of this study,
should be designed in this area. Also, the ratio of building's height and
road's width along pedestrian road should be reduced.
Abstract: Climate change could lead to changes in cultural
environments and landscapes as we know them.Climate change
presents an immediate and significant threat to our natural and built
environments and to the ways of life which co-exist with these
environments. In most traditional buildings, the harmony of texture
with nature and environment has been ever considered; so houses and
cities have been mixed with their natural environment so
astonishingly and the selection and usage of materials have been in
such a way that they have provided the utmost conformity with the
environment, as the result the created areas have a unique beauty and
attraction. The extent to which climate change contributes to
destruction procedure on Iran-s historic buildings.is a subject of
current discussion. Cities, towns and built-up areas also have their
own characteristics that might make them particularly vulnerable to
climate change.
