Abstract: In this paper, an attempt has been made for the design
of a robotic library using an intelligent system. The robot works on
the ARM microprocessor, motor driver circuit with 5 degrees of
freedom with Wi-Fi and GPS based communication protocol. The
authenticity of the library books is controlled by RFID. The proposed
robotic library system is facilitated with embedded system and ARM.
In this library issuance system, the previous potential readers’
authentic review reports have been taken into consideration for
recommending suitable books to the deserving new users and the
issuance of books or periodicals is based on the users’ decision. We
have conjectured that the Wi-Fi based robotic library management
system would allow fast transaction of books issuance and it also
produces quality readers.
Abstract: This paper deals with the problem of management of
information resources in libraries of the public institution Sultan
Moulay Slimane University (SMSU) in order to analyze the
satisfaction of the readers, and allow university leaders to make better
strategic and instant decisions. For this, the integration of an
integrated management decision library system is a priority program
of higher education, as part of the Digital Morocco, which has a
proactive policy to develop the use of new technologies information
and communication in higher institutions. This operational
information system can provide better services to the students and for
the leaders. Our approach is to integrate the tools of business
intelligence (BI) in the library management by using power BI.
Abstract: Library management systems are commonly used in
all educational related institutes. Many commercial products are
available. However, many institutions may not be able to afford the
cost of using commercial products. Therefore, an alternative solution
in such situations would be open source software. This paper is
focusing on reviewing open source library management system
packages currently available. The review will focus on the abilities to
perform four basic components which are traditional services,
interlibrary load management, managing electronic materials and
basic common management system such as security, alert system and
statistical reports. In addition, environment, basic requirement and
supporting aspects of each open source package are also mentioned.
Abstract: A key to success of high quality software development
is to define valid and feasible requirements specification. We have
proposed a method of model-driven requirements analysis using
Unified Modeling Language (UML). The main feature of our method
is to automatically generate a Web user interface mock-up from UML
requirements analysis model so that we can confirm validity of
input/output data for each page and page transition on the system by
directly operating the mock-up. This paper proposes a support method
to check the validity of a data life cycle by using a model checking tool
“UPPAAL" focusing on CRUD (Create, Read, Update and Delete).
Exhaustive checking improves the quality of requirements analysis
model which are validated by the customers through automatically
generated mock-up. The effectiveness of our method is discussed by a
case study of requirements modeling of two small projects which are a
library management system and a supportive sales system for text
books in a university.
Abstract: This study proposes a conceptual model and
empirically tests the relationships between customers and librarians
(i.e. tangibles, responsiveness, assurance, reliability and empathy)
with a dependent variable (customer satisfaction) regarding library
services. The SERVQUAL instrument was administered to 100
respondents which comprises of staff and students at a public higher
learning institution in the Federal Territory of Labuan, Malaysia.
They were public university library users. Results revealed that all
service quality dimensions tested were significant and influenced
customer satisfaction of visitors to a public university library.
Assurance is the most important factor that influences customer
satisfaction with the services rendered by the librarian. It is
imperative for the library management to take note that the top five
service attributes that gained greatest attention from library visitors-
perspective includes employee willingness to help customers,
availability of customer representatives online for response to
queries, library staff actively and promptly provide services, signs in
the building are clear and library staff are friendly and courteous.
This study provides valuable results concerning the determinants of
the service quality and customer satisfaction of public university
library services from the users' perspective.
