Abstract: Microservices architecture has been widely embraced for rapid, frequent, and reliable delivery of complex applications. It enables organizations to evolve their technology stack in various domains. Today, the networking domain is flooded with plethora of devices and software solutions which address different functionalities ranging from elementary operations, viz., switching, routing, firewall etc., to complex analytics and insights based intelligent services. In this paper, we attempt to bring in the microservices based approach for agile and adaptive delivery of network services for any underlying networking technology. We discuss the life cycle management of each individual microservice and a distributed control approach with emphasis for dynamic provisioning, management, and orchestration in an automated fashion which can provide seamless operations in large scale networks. We have conducted validations of the system in lab testbed comprising of Traditional/Legacy and Software Defined Wireless Local Area networks.
Abstract: Now-a-days autonomous mobile robots have found
applications in diverse fields. An autonomous robot system must be
able to behave in an intelligent manner to deal with complex and
changing environment. This work proposes the performance of path
planning and navigation of autonomous mobile robot using
Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA), Simulated Annealing (SA)
and Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) based intelligent controllers
in an unstructured environment. The approach not only finds a valid
collision free path but also optimal one. The main aim of the work is
to minimize the length of the path and duration of travel from a
starting point to a target while moving in an unknown environment
with obstacles without collision. Finally, a comparison is made
between the three controllers, it is found that the path length and time
duration made by the robot using GSA is better than SA and PSO
based controllers for the same work.
Abstract: In this paper, a Bayesian Network (BN) based system
is presented for providing clinical decision support to healthcare
practitioners in rural or remote areas of India for young infants or
children up to the age of 5 years. The government is unable to
appoint child specialists in rural areas because of inadequate number
of available pediatricians. It leads to a high Infant Mortality Rate
(IMR). In such a scenario, Intelligent Pediatric System provides a
realistic solution. The prototype of an intelligent system has been
developed that involves a knowledge component called an Intelligent
Pediatric Assistant (IPA); and User Agents (UA) along with their
Graphical User Interfaces (GUI). The GUI of UA provides the
interface to the healthcare practitioner for submitting sign-symptoms
and displaying the expert opinion as suggested by IPA. Depending
upon the observations, the IPA decides the diagnosis and the
treatment plan. The UA and IPA form client-server architecture for
knowledge sharing.
Abstract: In this paper, we present an innovative scheme of
blindly extracting message bits from an image distorted by an attack.
Support Vector Machine (SVM) is used to nonlinearly classify the
bits of the embedded message. Traditionally, a hard decoder is used
with the assumption that the underlying modeling of the Discrete
Cosine Transform (DCT) coefficients does not appreciably change.
In case of an attack, the distribution of the image coefficients is
heavily altered. The distribution of the sufficient statistics at the
receiving end corresponding to the antipodal signals overlap and a
simple hard decoder fails to classify them properly. We are
considering message retrieval of antipodal signal as a binary
classification problem. Machine learning techniques like SVM is
used to retrieve the message, when certain specific class of attacks is
most probable. In order to validate SVM based decoding scheme, we
have taken Gaussian noise as a test case. We generate a data set using
125 images and 25 different keys. Polynomial kernel of SVM has
achieved 100 percent accuracy on test data.
Abstract: This paper presents the development and application of an adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) based intelligent hybrid neuro fuzzy controller for automatic generation control (AGC) of two-area interconnected thermal power system with reheat non linearity. The dynamic response of the system has been studied for 1% step load perturbation in area-1. The performance of the proposed neuro fuzzy controller is compared against conventional proportional-integral (PI) controller, state feedback linear quadratic regulator (LQR) controller and fuzzy gain scheduled proportionalintegral (FGSPI) controller. Comparative analysis demonstrates that the proposed intelligent neuro fuzzy controller is the most effective of all in improving the transients of frequency and tie-line power deviations against small step load disturbances. Simulations have been performed using MatlabĀ®.
Abstract: RoboCup Rescue simulation as a large-scale Multi
agent system (MAS) is one of the challenging environments for
keeping coordination between agents to achieve the objectives
despite sensing and communication limitations. The dynamicity of
the environment and intensive dependency between actions of
different kinds of agents make the problem more complex. This point
encouraged us to use learning-based methods to adapt our decision
making to different situations. Our approach is utilizing
reinforcement leaning. Using learning in rescue simulation is one of
the current ways which has been the subject of several researches in
recent years. In this paper we present an innovative learning method
implemented for Police Force (PF) Agent. This method can cope
with the main difficulties that exist in other learning approaches.
Different methods used in the literature have been examined. Their
drawbacks and possible improvements have led us to the method
proposed in this paper which is fast and accurate. The Brain
Emotional Learning Based Intelligent Controller (BELBIC) is our
solution for learning in this environment. BELBIC is a
physiologically motivated approach based on a computational model
of amygdale and limbic system. The paper presents the results
obtained by the proposed approach, showing the power of BELBIC
as a decision making tool in complex and dynamic situation.
Abstract: This research uses computational linguistics, an area of study that employs a computer to process natural language, and aims at discerning the patterns that exist in declarative sentences used in technical texts. The approach is mathematical, and the focus is on instructional texts found on web pages. The technique developed by the author and named the MAYA Semantic Technique is used here and organized into four stages. In the first stage, the parts of speech in each sentence are identified. In the second stage, the subject of the sentence is determined. In the third stage, MAYA performs a frequency analysis on the remaining words to determine the verb and its object. In the fourth stage, MAYA does statistical analysis to determine the content of the web page. The advantage of the MAYA Semantic Technique lies in its use of mathematical principles to represent grammatical operations which assist processing and accuracy if performed on unambiguous text. The MAYA Semantic Technique is part of a proposed architecture for an entire web-based intelligent tutoring system. On a sample set of sentences, partial semantics derived using the MAYA Semantic Technique were approximately 80% accurate. The system currently processes technical text in one domain, namely CĀµ programming. In this domain all the keywords and programming concepts are known and understood.
Abstract: The Combination of path planning and path following is the main purpose of this paper. This paper describes the developed practical approach to motion control of the MRL small size robots. An intelligent controller is applied to control omni-directional robots motion in simulation and real environment respectively. The Brain Emotional Learning Based Intelligent Controller (BELBIC), based on LQR control is adopted for the omni-directional robots. The contribution of BELBIC in improving the control system performance is shown as application of the emotional learning in a real world problem. Optimizing of the control effort can be achieved in this method too. Next the implicit communication method is used to determine the high level strategies and coordination of the robots. Some simple rules besides using the environment as a memory to improve the coordination between agents make the robots' decision making system. With this simple algorithm our team manifests a desirable cooperation.
Abstract: Optimization plays an important role in most real
world applications that support decision makers to take the right
decision regarding the strategic directions and operations of the
system they manage. Solutions for traffic management and traffic
congestion problems are considered major problems that most
decision making authorities for cities around the world are looking
for. This review paper gives a full description of the traffic problem
as part of the transportation planning process and present a view as a
framework of urban transportation system analysis where the core of
the system is a transportation network equilibrium model that is
based on optimization techniques and that can also be used for
evaluating an alternative solution or a combination of alternative
solutions for the traffic congestion. Different transportation network
equilibrium models are reviewed from the sequential approach to the
multiclass combining trip generation, trip distribution, modal split,
trip assignment and departure time model. A GIS-Based intelligent
decision support system framework for urban transportation system
analysis is suggested for implementation where the selection of
optimized alternative solutions, single or packages, will be based on
an intelligent agent rather than human being which would lead to
reduction in time, cost and the elimination of the difficulty, by
human being, for finding the best solution to the traffic congestion
problem.
Abstract: The knowledge base of welding defect recognition is
essentially incomplete. This characteristic determines that the recognition results do not reflect the actual situation. It also has a further influence on the classification of welding quality. This paper is
concerned with the study of a rough set based method to reduce the influence and improve the classification accuracy. At first, a rough set
model of welding quality intelligent classification has been built. Both condition and decision attributes have been specified. Later on, groups
of the representative multiple compound defects have been chosen
from the defect library and then classified correctly to form the
decision table. Finally, the redundant information of the decision table has been reducted and the optimal decision rules have been reached. By this method, we are able to reclassify the misclassified defects to
the right quality level. Compared with the ordinary ones, this method
has higher accuracy and better robustness.
Abstract: In ubiqutious healthcare environment, user's health data are transfered to the remote healthcare server by the user's wearable system or mobile phone. These collected user's health data should be managed and analyzed in the healthcare server, so that care giver or user can monitor user's physiological state. In this paper, we designed and developed the intelligent Healthcare Server to manage the user's health data using CDSS and ontology. Our system can analyze user's health data semantically using CDSS and ontology, and report the result of user's physiological raw data to the user and care giver.
Abstract: To realize the vision of ubiquitous computing, it is
important to develop a context-aware infrastructure which can help
ubiquitous agents, services, and devices become aware of their
contexts because such computational entities need to adapt themselves
to changing situations. A context-aware infrastructure manages the
context model representing contextual information and provides
appropriate information. In this paper, we introduce Context-Aware
Middleware for URC System (hereafter CAMUS) as a context-aware
infrastructure for a network-based intelligent robot system and discuss
the ontology-based context modeling and reasoning approach which is
used in that infrastructure.
Abstract: In this paper a new control strategy based on Brain
Emotional Learning (BEL) model has been introduced. A modified
BEL model has been proposed to increase the degree of freedom,
controlling capability, reliability and robustness, which can be
implemented in real engineering systems.
The performance of the proposed BEL controller has been
illustrated by applying it on different nonlinear uncertain systems,
showing very good adaptability and robustness, while maintaining
stability.
Abstract: Vision-based intelligent vehicle applications often require large amounts of memory to handle video streaming and image processing, which in turn increases complexity of hardware and software. This paper presents an FPGA implement of a vision-based blind spot warning system. Using video frames, the information of the blind spot area turns into one-dimensional information. Analysis of the estimated entropy of image allows the detection of an object in time. This idea has been implemented in the XtremeDSP video starter kit. The blind spot warning system uses only 13% of its logic resources and 95k bits block memory, and its frame rate is over 30 frames per sec (fps).
