Abstract: This paper discusses the value theory in cultural
heritage and the value theory in environmental economics. Two
economic views of the value theory are compared, within the field of
cultural heritage maintenance and within the field of the environment.
The main aims are to find common features in these two differently
structured theories under the layer of differently defined terms as well
as really differing features of these two approaches; to clear the
confusion which stems from different terminology as in fact these
terms capture the same aspects of reality; and to show possible
inspiration these two perspectives can offer one another. Another aim
is to present these two value systems in one value framework. First,
important moments of the value theory from the economic
perspective are presented, leading to the marginal revolution of (not
only) the Austrian School. Then the theory of value within cultural
heritage and environmental economics are explored. Finally,
individual approaches are compared and their potential mutual
inspiration searched for.
Abstract: This study analyzes the innovative orientation of the
Croatian entrepreneurs. Innovative orientation is represented by the
perceived extent to which an entrepreneur’s product or service or
technology is new, and no other businesses offer the same product.
The sample is extracted from the GEM Croatia Adult Population
Survey dataset for the years 2003-2013. We apply descriptive
statistics, t-test, Chi-square test and logistic regression. Findings
indicate that innovative orientations vary with personal, firm, meso
and macro level variables, and between different stages in
entrepreneurship process. Significant predictors are occupation of the
entrepreneurs, size of the firm and export aspiration for both early
stage and established entrepreneurs. In addition, fear of failure,
expecting to start a new business and seeing an entrepreneurial career
as a desirable choice are predictors of innovative orientation among
early stage entrepreneurs.
Abstract: The adaptation of social networking sites within
higher education has garnered significant interest in the recent years
with numerous researches considering it as a possible shift from the
traditional classroom based learning paradigm. Notwithstanding this
increase in research and conducted studies however, the adaption of
SNS based modules have failed to proliferate within Universities.
This paper commences its contribution by analyzing the various
models and theories proposed in literature and amalgamate together
various effective aspects for the inclusion of social technology within
e-Learning. A three phased framework is further proposed which
details the necessary considerations for the successful adaptation of
SNS in enhancing the students learning experience. This proposal
outlines the theoretical foundations which will be analyzed in
practical implementation across international university campuses.
Abstract: Applications of the Hausdorff space and its mappings
into tangent spaces are outlined, including their fractal dimensions
and self-similarities. The paper details this theory set up and further
describes virtualizations and atomization of manufacturing processes.
It demonstrates novel concurrency principles that will guide
manufacturing processes and resources configurations. Moreover,
varying levels of details may be produced by up folding and breaking
down of newly introduced generic models. This choice of layered
generic models for units and systems aspects along specific aspects
allows research work in parallel to other disciplines with the same
focus on all levels of detail. More credit and easier access are granted
to outside disciplines for enriching manufacturing grounds. Specific
mappings and the layers give hints for chances for interdisciplinary
outcomes and may highlight more details for interoperability
standards, as already worked on the international level. The new rules
are described, which require additional properties concerning all
involved entities for defining distributed decision cycles, again on the
base of self-similarity. All properties are further detailed and assigned
to a maturity scale, eventually displaying the smartness maturity of a
total shopfloor or a factory. The paper contributes to the intensive
ongoing discussion in the field of intelligent distributed
manufacturing and promotes solid concepts for implementations of
Cyber Physical Systems and the Internet of Things into
manufacturing industry, like industry 4.0, as discussed in German-speaking
countries.
Abstract: Information technology and information systems are
currently at a tipping point. The digital age fundamentally transforms
a large number of industries in the ways they work. Lines between
business and technology blur. Researchers have acknowledged that
this is the time in which the IT/IS organisation needs to re-strategize
itself. In this paper, the author provides a structured review of the IS
and organisation design literature addressing the question of how the
digital age changes the design categories of an IT/IS organisation
design. The findings show that most papers just analyse single
aspects of either IT/IS relevant information or generic organisation
design elements but miss a holistic ‘big-picture’ onto an IT/IS
organisation design. This paper creates a holistic IT/IS organisation
design framework bringing together the IS research strand, the digital
strand and the generic organisation design strand. The research
identified four IT/IS organisation design categories (strategy,
structure, processes and people) and discusses the importance of two
additional categories (sourcing and governance). The authors findings
point to a first anchor point from which further research needs to be
conducted to develop a holistic IT/IS organisation design framework.
Abstract: Data mining idea is mounting rapidly in admiration
and also in their popularity. The foremost aspire of data mining
method is to extract data from a huge data set into several forms that
could be comprehended for additional use. The data mining is a
technology that contains with rich potential resources which could be
supportive for industries and businesses that pay attention to collect
the necessary information of the data to discover their customer’s
performances. For extracting data there are several methods are
available such as Classification, Clustering, Association,
Discovering, and Visualization… etc., which has its individual and

Abstract: The Algeria by its location offers a rich and diverse
vegetation. A large number of aromatic and medicinal plants grow
spontaneously. The interest in these plants has continued to grow in
recent years. Their particular properties due to the essential oil
fraction can be utilized to treat microbial infections. To this end, and
in the context of the valuation of the Algerian flora, we became
interested in the species of the family Lamiaceae which is one of the
most used as a global source of spices. The plant on which we have
based our choice is a species of sage "Salvia officinalis" from the
Isser localized region within the province of Boumerdes. This work
focuses on the study of the antimicrobial activity of essential oil
extracted from the leaves of Salvia officinalis. The extraction is
carried out by essential oil hydrodistillation and reveals a yield of
1.06℅. The study of the antimicrobial activity of the essential oil by
the method of at aromatogramme shown that Gram positive bacteria
are most susceptible (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis)
with a strong inhibition of growth. The yeast Candida albicans
fungus Aspergillus niger and have shown moderately sensitive.

Abstract: To determine the potential of a low cost Irish
engineered timber product to replace high cost solid timber for use in
bending active structures such as gridshells a single Irish engineered
timber product in the form of orientated strand board (OSB) was
selected. A comparative study of OSB and solid timber was carried
out to determine the optimum properties that make a material suitable
for use in gridshells. Three parameters were identified to be relevant
in the selection of a material for gridshells. These three parameters
are the strength to stiffness ratio, the flexural stiffness of
commercially available sections, and the variability of material and
section properties. It is shown that when comparing OSB against
solid timber, OSB is a more suitable material for use in gridshells that
are at the smaller end of the scale and that have tight radii of
curvature. Typically, for solid timber materials, stiffness is used as an
indicator for strength and engineered timber is no different. Thus, low
flexural stiffness would mean low flexural strength. However, when
it comes to bending active gridshells, OSB offers a significant
advantage. By the addition of multiple layers, an increased section
size is created, thus endowing the structure with higher stiffness and
higher strength from initial low stiffness and low strength materials
while still maintaining tight radii of curvature. This allows OSB to
compete with solid timber on large scale gridshells. Additionally, a
preliminary sustainability study using a set of sustainability indicators
was carried out to determine the relative sustainability of building a
large-scale gridshell in Ireland with a primary focus on economic
viability but a mention is also given to social and environmental
aspects. For this, the Savill garden gridshell in the UK was used as
the functional unit with the sustainability of the structural roof
skeleton constructed from UK larch solid timber being compared
with the same structure using Irish OSB. Albeit that the advantages of
using commercially available OSB in a bending active gridshell are
marginal and limited to specific gridshell applications, further study
into an optimised engineered timber product is merited.
Abstract: Array-based gene expression analysis is a powerful
tool to profile expression of genes and to generate information on
therapeutic effects of new anti-cancer compounds. Anti-apoptotic
effect of thymoquinone was studied in MCF7 breast cancer cell line
using gene expression profiling with cDNA microarray. The purity
and yield of RNA samples were determined using RNeasyPlus Mini
kit. The Agilent RNA 6000 NanoLabChip kit evaluated the quantity
of the RNA samples. AffinityScript RT oligo-dT promoter primer
was used to generate cDNA strands. T7 RNA polymerase was used to
convert cDNA to cRNA. The cRNA samples and human universal
reference RNA were labelled with Cy-3-CTP and Cy-5-CTP,
respectively. Feature Extraction and GeneSpring softwares analysed
the data. The single experiment analysis revealed involvement of 64
pathways with up-regulated genes and 78 pathways with downregulated
genes. The MAPK and p38-MAPK pathways were
inhibited due to the up-regulation of PTPRR gene. The inhibition of
p38-MAPK suggested up-regulation of TGF-ß pathway. Inhibition of
p38-MAPK caused up-regulation of TP53 and down-regulation of
Bcl2 genes indicating involvement of intrinsic apoptotic pathway.
Down-regulation of CARD16 gene as an adaptor molecule regulated
CASP1 and suggested necrosis-like programmed cell death and
involvement of caspase in apoptosis. Furthermore, down-regulation
of GPCR, EGF-EGFR signalling pathways suggested reduction of
ER. Involvement of AhR pathway which control cytochrome P450
and glucuronidation pathways showed metabolism of Thymoquinone.
The findings showed differential expression of several genes in
apoptosis pathways with thymoquinone treatment in estrogen
receptor-positive breast cancer cells.
Abstract: Hybrid bioreactor having both suspended-growth and
attached-growth bacteria is found a novel and excellent bioreactor
system for treating the municipal wastewater containing inhibitory
substrates too. In this reactor a fraction of substrate is used by
suspended biomass and the remaining by attached biomass resulting
in the competition between the two growths for the substrate. The
combination of suspended and attached growth provides the system
with enhanced biomass concentration and sludge age more than those
in ASP. Similar to attached growth system, the hybrid bioreactor
ensures considerable efficiency for treating toxic and refractory
substances in wastewater. For the process design of hybrid bioreactor
a suitable mathematical model is required. Although various
mathematical models were developed on hybrid bioreactor in due
course of time in earlier research works, none of them was found
having a specific simplified solution of the corresponding models and
without having any drawback. To overcome this drawback authors
already developed a simplified mathematical model for process
design of a hybrid bioreactor. The present paper briefly highlights on
the various aspects of process design of an aerobic hybrid bioreactor
for the treatment of municipal wastewater.
Abstract: In this paper we consider the equation of motion for
the F (R, T) gravity on their property of conformal invariance. It
is shown that in the general case, such a theory is not conformal
invariant. Studied special cases for the functions v and u in which
can appear properties of the theory. Also we consider cosmological
aspects F (R, T) theory of gravity, having considered particular case
F (R, T) = μR+νT^2. Showed that in this case there is a nonlinear
dependence of the parameter equation of state from time to time,
which affects its evolution.
Abstract: This study introduces two types of self-oscillating
circuits that are frequently found in power electronics applications.
Special effort is made to relate the circuits to the analogous mechanical
systems of some important scientific inventions: Galileo’s pendulum
clock and Coulomb’s friction model. A little touch of related history
and philosophy of science will hopefully encourage curiosity, advance
the understanding of self-oscillating systems and satisfy the aspiration
of some students for scientific literacy. Finally, the two self-oscillating
circuits are applied to design a simple class-D audio amplifier.

Abstract: This paper describes the problem of building secure
computational services for encrypted information in the Cloud
Computing without decrypting the encrypted data; therefore, it meets
the yearning of computational encryption algorithmic aspiration
model that could enhance the security of big data for privacy,
confidentiality, availability of the users. The cryptographic model
applied for the computational process of the encrypted data is the
Fully Homomorphic Encryption Scheme. We contribute a theoretical

Abstract: The characteristics of temperature distribution and
electric field in a natural rubber glove (NRG) using microwave
energy during microwave heating process are investigated
numerically and experimentally. A three-dimensional model of NRG
and microwave oven are considered in this work. The influences of
position, heating time and rotation angle of NRG on temperature
distribution and electric field are presented in details. The coupled
equations of electromagnetic wave propagation and heat transfer are
solved using the finite element method (FEM). The numerical model
is validated with an experimental study at a frequency of 2.45 GHz.
The results show that the numerical results closely match the
experimental results. Furthermore, it is found that the temperature
distribution and electric field increases with increasing heating time.
The hot spot zone appears in NRG at the tip of middle finger while
the maximum temperature occurs in case of rotation angle of NRG =
60 degree. This investigation provides the essential aspects for a
fundamental understanding of heat transport of NRG using
microwave energy in industry.
Abstract: The composite pavement system considered in this
paper is composed of a functional surface layer, a fiber reinforced
asphalt middle layer and a fiber reinforced lean concrete base layer.
The mix design of the fiber reinforced lean concrete corresponds to the
mix composition of conventional lean concrete but reinforced by
fibers. The quasi-absence of research on the durability or long-term
performances (fatigue, creep, etc.) of such mix design stresses the
necessity to evaluate experimentally the long-term characteristics of
this layer composition. This study tests the creep characteristics as one
of the long-term characteristics of the fiber reinforced lean concrete
layer for composite pavement using a new creep device. The test
results reveal that the lean concrete mixed with fiber reinforcement
and fly ash develops smaller creep than the conventional lean
concrete. The results of the application of the CEB-FIP prediction
equation indicate that a modified creep prediction equation should be
developed to fit with the new mix design of the layer.
Abstract: This paper presents Finite Element Method (FEM) for
analyzing the internal responses generated in thin rectangular plates
with various edge conditions and rigidity conditions. Comparison has
been made between the FEM (ANSYS software) results for
displacement, stresses and moments generated with and without the
consideration of hole in plate and different aspect ratios. In the end
comparison for responses in plain and composite square plates has
been studied.
Abstract: There has been a significant decline in active travel
and a massive increase in the use of car dependent travel in many
countries during the past two decades. Evidential risks for people’s
physical and mental health problems are correlated with this
increased use of motorized travel. These health related problems
range from overweight and obesity to increased air pollution. In
response to these rising concerns health professionals, traffic planers,
local authorities and others have introduced a variety of initiatives to
counterbalance the dominance of cars for daily journeys.
However, the nature of travel behavior change interventions,
which aim to reduce car use, are very complex and challenging
regarding their interactions with human behavior. To change travel
behavior at least two aspects have to be taken into consideration.
First, how to alter attitudes and perceptions toward the sustainable
and healthy modes of travel, in competition with experiences of
private car use. And second, how to make these behavior change
processes irreversible and sustainable. There are no comprehensive
models available to guide policy interventions to increase the level of
success of travel behavior change interventions across both these
dimensions.
A comprehensive theoretical framework is required in the effort to
optimize how to facilitate and guide the processes of data collection
and analysis to achieve the best possible guidelines for policy
makers. Regarding the gaps in the travel behavior change research
literature, this paper attempted to identify and suggest a
multidimensional framework in order to facilitate planning the
implemented travel behavior change interventions. A structured
mixed-method model is suggested to improve the analytic power of
the results according to the complexity of human behavior.
In order to recognize people’s attitudes towards a specific travel
mode, the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) was operationalized.
But in order to capture decision making processes the Transtheoretical
model of Behavior Change (TTM) was also used.
Consequently, the combination of these two theories (TTM and TPB)
has resulted in a synthesis with appropriate concepts to identify and
design an implemented travel behavior change interventions.
