Abstract: In this paper we describe a hybrid technique of Minimax search and aggregate Mahalanobis distance function synthesis to evolve Awale game player. The hybrid technique helps to suggest a move in a short amount of time without looking into endgame database. However, the effectiveness of the technique is heavily dependent on the training dataset of the Awale strategies utilized. The evolved player was tested against Awale shareware program and the result is appealing.
Abstract: The widely used Total Variation de-noising algorithm can preserve sharp edge, while removing noise. However, since fixed regularization parameter over entire image, small details and textures are often lost in the process. In this paper, we propose a modified Total Variation algorithm to better preserve smaller-scaled features. This is done by allowing an adaptive regularization parameter to control the amount of de-noising in any region of image, according to relative information of local feature scale. Experimental results demonstrate the efficient of the proposed algorithm. Compared with standard Total Variation, our algorithm can better preserve smaller-scaled features and show better performance.
Abstract: In this paper we propose a family of algorithms based
on 3rd and 4th order cumulants for blind single-input single-output
(SISO) Non-Minimum Phase (NMP) Finite Impulse Response (FIR)
channel estimation driven by non-Gaussian signal. The input signal
represents the signal used in 10GBASE-T (or IEEE 802.3an-2006)
as a Tomlinson-Harashima Precoded (THP) version of random
Pulse-Amplitude Modulation with 16 discrete levels (PAM-16). The
proposed algorithms are tested using three non-minimum phase
channel for different Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNR) and for different
data input length. Numerical simulation results are presented to
illustrate the performance of the proposed algorithms.
Abstract: A new voltage-mode triple-input single-output multifunction filter using only two current conveyors is presented. The proposed filter which possesses three inputs and single-output can generate all biquadratic filtering functions at the output terminal by selecting different input signal combinations. The validity of the proposed filter is verified through PSPICE simulations.
Abstract: A lot of research made during these last 15 years
showed that the quantification of the springback has a significant role
in the industry of sheet metal forming. These studies were made with
the objective of finding techniques and methods to minimize or
completely avoid this permanent physical variation. Moreover, the
use of steel and aluminum alloys in the car industry and aviation
poses every day the problem of the springback. The determination in
advance of the quantity of the springback allows consequently the
design and manufacture of the tool. The aim of this paper is to study
experimentally the influence of the blank holder force BHF and the
radius of curvature of the die on the springback and their influence on
the strain in various zone of specimen.
The original of our purpose consist on tests which are ensured by
adapting a U-type stretching-bending device on a tensile testing
machine, where we studied and quantified the variation of the
springback according to displacement.
Abstract: Incremental forming is a complex forming process with
continuously local cumulative deformation taking place during its
process, and springback that forming quality affected by would occur.
The springback evaluation method based on forming error
compensation also was proposed, which it can be defined as the
difference between theory and the actual amount of compensation
along the measured direction. According to forming error
compensation evaluation method, experiments was designed and
implemented. And from the results that obtained it can be show, the
magnitude of springback average (δE) of formed parts was very small,
and the forming precision could be significantly improved by adopting
compensation method. Based on double tensile stress state in the main
deformation area, a hypothesis that there is little springback be arisen
by bending behavior on the formed parts that was proposed.
Abstract: This paper presents the effects of migration at the
urban sites with an integrated model under the sustainable local
development policies for the conservation and revitalization of the
site areas as a case at Reyhan heritage site in Bursa. It is known as
the “City of immigrants" because of its richness of cultural plurality.
The city has always regarded the dynamic impact of immigration as a
positive contribution. As a result of this situation, the city created the
earliest urbanization practices: being the first capital city of the
Ottoman Empire. Bursa created the first modern movement practices
and set the first Organized Industrial Zone. The most important aim
of the study is to be offer a model for the similar areas with the
context of conservation and revitalization of the historical areas,
subjected to the local integrated sustainable development policies of
local goverments.
Abstract: To improve the material characteristics of single- and
poly-crystals of pure copper, the respective relationships between crystallographic orientations and microstructures, and the bending and mechanical properties were examined. And texture distribution is also
analyzed. A grain refinement procedure was performed to obtain a
grained structure. Furthermore, some analytical results related to
crystal direction maps, inverse pole figures, and textures were obtained from SEM-EBSD analyses. Results showed that these
grained metallic materials have peculiar springback characteristics with various bending angles.
Abstract: This paper presents the source extraction system which can extract only target signals with constraints on source localization in on-line systems. The proposed system is a kind of methods for enhancing a target signal and suppressing other interference signals. But, the performance of proposed system is superior to any other methods and the extraction of target source is comparatively complete. The method has a beamforming concept and uses an improved time-frequency (TF) mask-based BSS algorithm to separate a target signal from multiple noise sources. The target sources are assumed to be in front and test data was recorded in a reverberant room. The experimental results of the proposed method was evaluated by the PESQ score of real-recording sentences and showed a noticeable speech enhancement.
