Abstract: Khao Yai National Park is the First National Park in
Thailand and approximately 800,000 tourists visited Khao Yai yearly.
This study aimed to identify the perception of tourists in Khao Yai
National Park according to the implementation of eco-friendly
cleansers along their leisure in the campsites. Due to tourist’s
activities in the park were affected on quality of environment;
especially on water resource. Therefore, eco-friendly cleansers were
used in campsites for tourists and restaurants during high tourist
season. The results indicated positive effects of environmental
friendly cleansers on water quality in Lam Ta Khong River, as well
as the tourist’s perception on eco-friendly cleansers.
Abstract: The research objective of the project and article
“European Ecological Network Natura 2000 – opportunities and
threats” Natura 2000 sites constitute a form of environmental
protection, several legal problems are likely to result. Most
controversially, certain sites will be subject to two regimes of
protection: as national parks and as Natura 2000 sites. This dualism
of the legal regulation makes it difficult to perform certain legal
obligations related to the regimes envisaged under each form of
environmental protection. Which regime and which obligations
resulting from the particular form of environmental protection have
priority and should prevail? What should be done if these obligations
are contradictory? Furthermore, an institutional problem consists in
that no public administration authority has the power to resolve legal
conflicts concerning the application of a particular regime on a given
site. There are also no criteria to decide priority and superiority of
one form of environmental protection over the other. Which
regulations are more important, those that pertain to national parks or
to Natura 2000 sites? In the light of the current regulations, it is
impossible to give a decisive answer to these questions. The internal
hierarchy of forms of environmental protection has not been
determined, and all such forms should be treated equally.
Abstract: This paper is aimed to study the roles of leadership and innovation in the development of local people based ecotourism
services. The survey is conducted in Candirejo village, Borobudur District, Magelang Regency. The study of a descriptive approach is employed to identify people's behavior in ecotourism services. The results showed that ecotourism services have developed and provided benefits to the people. The roles of leadership and innovation interact positively with a cooperative to organize an ecotourism services management. The leadership is able to identify substances, to do the vision and missions of environmental and cultural conservation. The innovation provides alternative development efforts and increases the added value of ecotourism. The cooperative management was able to support a process to realize the goals of ecotourism, to build participation and communication, and to perform organizational learning. The phenomenon of the leadership in the Candirejo ecotourism enriches the studies of the ecotourism management. During this time, the ecotourism management is always associated
with the standard management of national park. The ecotourism management of Candirejo is considered successful even outside the national park management.
Abstract: The purpose of this research is to disentangle and
validate the underlying factorial-structure of Ecotourism Experiential
Value (EEV) measurement scale and subsequently investigate its
psychometric properties. The analysis was based on a sample of 225
eco-tourists, collected at the vicinity of Taman Negara National Park
(TNNP) via interviewer-administered questionnaire. Exploratory
factor analysis (EFA) was performed to determine the factorial
structure of EEV. Subsequently, to confirm and validate the factorial
structure and assess the psychometric properties of EEV,
confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was executed. In addition, to
establish the nomological validity of EEV a structural model was
developed to examine the effect of EEV on Total Eco-tourist
Experience Quality (TEEQ). It is unveiled that EEV is a secondorder
six-factorial structure construct and it scale has adequately met
the psychometric criteria, thus could permit interpretation of results
confidently. The findings have important implications for future
research directions and management of ecotourism destination.
Abstract: Macrobenthos distribution along the coastal waters of
Penang National Park was studid to estimate the effect of different
environmental parameters at three stations, during six sampling
months, from June 2010 to April 2011. The aim of this survey was to
investigate different environment stress over soft bottom polychaete
community along Teluk Ketapang and Pantai Acheh (Penang
National Park) over a year period. Variations in the polychaete
community were evaluated using univariate and multivariate
methods. A total of 604 individuals were examined which was
grouped into 23 families. Family Nereidae was the most abundant
(22.68%), followed by Spionidae (22.02%), Hesionidae (12.58%),
Nephtylidae (9.27%) and Orbiniidae (8.61%). It is noticeable that
good results can only be obtained on the basis of good taxonomic
resolution. The maximum Shannon-Wiener diversity (H'=2.16) was
recorded at distance 200m and 1200m (August 2010) in Teluk
Ketapang and lowest value of diversity was found at distance 1200m
(December 2010) in Teluk Ketapang.
