Abstract: In this empirical research, how marketing managers evaluate their firms- performances and decide to make innovation is examined. They use some standards which are past performance of the firm, target performance of the firm, competitor performance, and average performance of the industry to compare and evaluate the firms- performances. It is hypothesized that marketing managers and owners of the firm compare the firms- current performance with these four standards at the same time to decide when to make innovation relating to any aspects of the firm, either management style or products. Relationship between the comparison of the firm-s performance with these standards and innovation are searched in the same regression model. The results of the regression analysis are discussed and some recommendations are made for future studies and applicants.
Abstract: Zero inflated strict arcsine model is a newly developed
model which is found to be appropriate in modeling overdispersed
count data. In this study, we extend zero inflated strict arcsine model
to zero inflated strict arcsine regression model by taking into
consideration the extra variability caused by extra zeros and
covariates in count data. Maximum likelihood estimation method is
used in estimating the parameters for this zero inflated strict arcsine
regression model.
Abstract: The adsorption of simulated aqueous solution containing textile remazol reactive dye, namely Red 3BS by palm shell activated carbon (PSAC) as adsorbent was carried out using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). A Box-Behnken design in three most important operating variables; initial dye concentration, dosage of adsorbent and speed of impeller was employed for experimental design and optimization of results. The significance of independent variables and their interactions were tested by means of the analysis of variance (ANOVA) with 95% confidence limits. Model indicated that with the increasing of dosage and speed give the result of removal up to 90% with the capacity uptake more than 7 mg/g. High regression coefficient between the variables and the response (R-Sq = 93.9%) showed of good evaluation of experimental data by polynomial regression model.
Abstract: Recurrent event data is a special type of multivariate
survival data. Dynamic and frailty models are one of the approaches
that dealt with this kind of data. A comparison between these two
models is studied using the empirical standard deviation of the
standardized martingale residual processes as a way of assessing the
fit of the two models based on the Aalen additive regression model.
Here we found both approaches took heterogeneity into account and
produce residual standard deviations close to each other both in the
simulation study and in the real data set.
