Abstract: Wireless sensor networks can be tiny, low cost, intelligent sensors connected with advanced communication systems. WSNs have pulled in significant consideration as a matter of fact that, industrial as well as medical solicitations employ these in monitoring targets, conservational observation, obstacle exposure, movement regulator etc. In these applications, sensor hubs are thickly sent in the unattended environment with little non-rechargeable batteries. This constraint requires energy-efficient systems to drag out the system lifetime. There are redundancies in data sent over the network. To overcome this, multiple virtual spine scheduling has been presented. Such networks problems are called Maximum Lifetime Backbone Scheduling (MLBS) problems. Though this sleep wake cycle reduces radio usage, improvement can be made in the path in which the group heads stay selected. Cluster head selection with emphasis on geometrical relation of the system will enhance the load sharing among the nodes. Also the data are analyzed to reduce redundant transmission. Multi-hop communication will facilitate lighter loads on the network.
Abstract: This study aims at analysing the load settlement behavior and predict the bearing capacity of piled raft foundation a series of finite element models with different foundation configurations and stiffness were established. Numerical modeling is used to study the behavior of the piled raft foundation due to the complexity of piles, raft, and soil interaction and also due to the lack of reliable analytical method that can predict the behavior of the piled raft foundation system. Simple analytical models are developed to predict the average settlement and the load sharing between the piles and the raft in piled raft foundation system. A simple example to demonstrate the applications of these charts is included.
Abstract: The paper deals with the classical fiber bundle model
of equal load sharing, sometimes referred to as the Daniels’ bundle
or the democratic bundle. Daniels formulated a multidimensional
integral and also a recursive formula for evaluation of the
strength cumulative distribution function. This paper describes
three algorithms for evaluation of the recursive formula and also
their implementations with source codes in the Python high-level
programming language. A comparison of the algorithms are provided
with respect to execution time. Analysis of orders of magnitudes of
addends in the recursion is also provided.
Abstract: This paper presents dynamic models of distributed
generators (DG) and investigates dynamic behavior of the DG units
in the micro grid system. The DG units include photovoltaic and fuel
cell sources. The voltage source inverter is adopted since the
electronic interface which can be equipped with its controller to keep
stability of the micro grid during small signal dynamics. This paper
also introduces power management strategies and implements the DG
load sharing concept to keep the micro grid operation in gridconnected
and islanding modes of operation. The results demonstrate
the operation and performance of the photovoltaic and fuel cell as
distributed generators in a micro grid. The entire control system in
the micro grid is developed by combining the benefits of the power
control and the voltage control strategies. Simulation results are all
reported, confirming the validity of the proposed control technique.
Abstract: In this paper, two centrifugal model tests (case 1: raft
foundation, case 2: 2x2 piled raft foundation) were conducted in
order to evaluate the effect of ground subsidence on load sharing
among piles and raft and settlement of raft and piled raft
foundations. For each case, two conditions consisting of undrained
(without groundwater pumping) and drained (with groundwater
pumping) conditions were considered. Vertical loads were applied
to the models after the foundations were completely consolidated by
selfweight at 50g. The results show that load sharing by the piles in
piled raft foundation (piled load share) for drained condition
decreases faster than that for undrained condition. Settlement of
both raft and piled raft foundations for drained condition increases
more quickly than that for undrained condition. In addition, the
settlement of raft foundation increases more largely than the
settlement of piled raft foundation for drained condition.
Abstract: In any distributed systems, process scheduling plays a
vital role in determining the efficiency of the system. Process scheduling algorithms are used to ensure that the components of the
system would be able to maximize its utilization and able to complete all the processes assigned in a specified period of time.
This paper focuses on the development of comparative simulator for distributed process scheduling algorithms. The objectives of the works that have been carried out include the development of the
comparative simulator, as well as to implement a comparative study
between three distributed process scheduling algorithms; senderinitiated,
receiver-initiated and hybrid sender-receiver-initiated
algorithms. The comparative study was done based on the Average Waiting Time (AWT) and Average Turnaround Time (ATT) of the
processes involved. The simulation results show that the performance of the algorithms depends on the number of nodes in the system.
Abstract: The Inter feeder Power Flow Regulator (IFPFR)
proposed in this paper consists of several voltage source inverters
with common dc bus; each inverter is connected in series with one of
different independent distribution feeders in the power system. This
paper is concerned with how to transfer power between the feeders for
load sharing purpose. The power controller of each inverter injects
the power (for sending feeder) or absorbs the power (for receiving
feeder) via injecting suitable voltage; this voltage injection is
simulated by voltage drop across series virtual impedance, the
impedance value is selected to achieve the concept of power exchange
between the feeders without perturbing the load voltage magnitude of
each feeder. In this paper a new control scheme for load sharing using
IFPFR is proposed.
