Abstract: Facing the concern of the population to its environment and to climatic change, city planners are now considering the urban climate in their choices of planning. The urban climate, representing different urban morphologies across central Bangkok metropolitan area (BMA), are used to investigates the effects of both the composition and configuration of variables of urban morphology indicators on the summer diurnal range of urban climate, using correlation analyses and multiple linear regressions. Results show first indicate that approximately 92.6% of the variation in the average maximum daytime near-surface air temperature (Ta) was explained jointly by the two composition variables of urban morphology indicators including open space ratio (OSR) and floor area ratio (FAR). It has been possible to determine the membership of sample areas to the local climate zones (LCZs) using these urban morphology descriptors automatically computed with GIS and remote sensed data. Finally result found the temperature differences among zones of large separation, such as the city center could be respectively from 35.48±1.04ºC (Mean±S.D.) warmer than the outskirt of Bangkok on average for maximum daytime near surface temperature to 28.27±0.21ºC for extreme event and, can exceed as 8ºC. A spatially disaggregation of urban thermal responsiveness map would be helpful for several reasons. First, it would localize urban areas concerned by different climate behavior over summer daytime and be a good indicator of urban climate variability. Second, when overlaid with a land cover map, this map may contribute to identify possible urban management strategies to reduce heat wave effects in BMA.
Abstract: Image-based Rendering(IBR) techniques recently
reached in broad fields which leads to a critical challenge to build up
IBR-Driven visualization platform where meets requirement of high
performance, large bounds of distributed visualization resource
aggregation and concentration, multiple operators deploying and
CSCW design employing. This paper presents an unique IBR-based
visualization dataflow model refer to specific characters of IBR
techniques and then discusses prominent feature of IBR-Driven
distributed collaborative visualization (DCV) system before finally
proposing an novel prototype. The prototype provides a well-defined
three level modules especially work as Central Visualization Server,
Local Proxy Server and Visualization Aid Environment, by which
data and control for collaboration move through them followed the
previous dataflow model. With aid of this triple hierarchy architecture
of that, IBR oriented application construction turns to be easy. The
employed augmented collaboration strategy not only achieve
convenient multiple users synchronous control and stable processing
management, but also is extendable and scalable.
Abstract: Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are wireless
networks consisting of number of tiny, low cost and low power
sensor nodes to monitor various physical phenomena like
temperature, pressure, vibration, landslide detection, presence of any
object, etc. The major limitation in these networks is the use of nonrechargeable
battery having limited power supply. The main cause of
energy consumption WSN is communication subsystem. This paper
presents an efficient grid formation/clustering strategy known as Grid
based level Clustering and Aggregation of Data (GCAD). The
proposed clustering strategy is simple and scalable that uses low duty
cycle approach to keep non-CH nodes into sleep mode thus reducing
energy consumption. Simulation results demonstrate that our
proposed GCAD protocol performs better in various performance
metrics.
Abstract: We present a new intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation
operator called the intuitionistic fuzzy ordered weighted
averaging-weighted average (IFOWAWA) operator. The main
advantage of the IFOWAWA operator is that it unifies the OWA
operator with the WA in the same formulation considering the degree
of importance that each concept has in the aggregation. Moreover, it is
able to deal with an uncertain environment that can be assessed with
intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. We study some of its main properties and
we see that it has a lot of particular cases such as the intuitionistic
fuzzy weighted average (IFWA) and the intuitionistic fuzzy OWA
(IFOWA) operator. Finally, we study the applicability of the new
approach on a financial decision making problem concerning the
selection of financial strategies.
Abstract: Grid environments include aggregation of
geographical distributed resources. Grid is put forward in three types
of computational, data and storage. This paper presents a research on
data grid. Data grid is used for covering and securing accessibility to
data from among many heterogeneous sources. Users are not worry
on the place where data is located in it, provided that, they should get
access to the data. Metadata is used for getting access to data in data
grid. Presently, application metadata catalogue and SRB middle-ware
package are used in data grids for management of metadata. At this
paper, possibility of updating, streamlining and searching is provided
simultaneously and rapidly through classified table of preserving
metadata and conversion of each table to numerous tables.
Meanwhile, with regard to the specific application, the most
appropriate and best division is set and determined. Concurrency of
implementation of some of requests and execution of pipeline is
adaptability as a result of this technique.
Abstract: The increasing interest on processing data created by
sensor networks has evolved into approaches to implement sensor
networks as databases. The aggregation operator, which calculates a
value from a large group of data such as computing averages or sums,
etc. is an essential function that needs to be provided when
implementing such sensor network databases. This work proposes to
add the DURING clause into TinySQL to calculate values during a
specific long period and suggests a way to implement the aggregation
service in sensor networks by applying materialized view and
incremental view maintenance techniques that is used in data
warehouses. In sensor networks, data values are passed from child
nodes to parent nodes and an aggregation value is computed at the root
node. As such root nodes need to be memory efficient and low
powered, it becomes a problem to recompute aggregate values from all
past and current data. Therefore, applying incremental view
maintenance techniques can reduce the memory consumption and
support fast computation of aggregate values.
Abstract: In this paper, we propose a single sample path based
algorithm with state aggregation to optimize the average rewards of
singularly perturbed Markov reward processes (SPMRPs) with a
large scale state spaces. It is assumed that such a reward process
depend on a set of parameters. Differing from the other kinds of
Markov chain, SPMRPs have their own hierarchical structure. Based
on this special structure, our algorithm can alleviate the load in the
optimization for performance. Moreover, our method can be applied
on line because of its evolution with the sample path simulated.
Compared with the original algorithm applied on these problems of
general MRPs, a new gradient formula for average reward
performance metric in SPMRPs is brought in, which will be proved
in Appendix, and then based on these gradients, the schedule of the
iteration algorithm is presented, which is based on a single sample
path, and eventually a special case in which parameters only
dominate the disturbance matrices will be analyzed, and a precise
comparison with be displayed between our algorithm with the old
ones which is aim to solve these problems in general Markov reward
processes. When applied in SPMRPs, our method will approach a fast
pace in these cases. Furthermore, to illustrate the practical value of
SPMRPs, a simple example in multiple programming in computer
systems will be listed and simulated. Corresponding to some practical
model, physical meanings of SPMRPs in networks of queues will be
clarified.
