Abstract: Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have gained increasing
interest in recent times. This is greatly due to their special features,
which include unusual optical and electronic properties, high stability
and biological compatibility, controllable morphology and size
dispersion, and easy surface functionalization. In typical synthesis,
AuNPs were produced by reduction of gold salt AuCl4 in an
appropriate solvent. A stabilizing agent was added to prevent the
particles from aggregating. The antibacterial activity of different
sizes of gold nanoparticles was investigated against Staphylococcus
aureus, Salmonella typhi and Pseudomonas pneumonia using the disk
diffusion method in a Müeller–Hinton Agar. The Au-NPs were
effective against all bacteria tested. That the Au-NPs were
successfully synthesized in suspension and were used to study the
antibacterial activity of the two medicinal plants against some
bacterial pathogens suggests that Au-NPs can be employed as an
effective bacteria inhibitor and may be an effective tool in medical
field. The study clearly showed that the Au-NPs exhibiting inhibition
towards the tested pathogenic bacteria in vitro could have the same
effects in vivo and thus may be useful in the medical field if well
researched into.
Abstract: Active Front Steering system (AFS) provides an electronically controlled superposition of an angle to the steering wheel angle. This additional degree of freedom enables a continuous and driving-situation dependent on adaptation of the steering characteristics. In an active steering system, there needs be no fixed relationship between the steering wheel and the angle of the road wheels. Not only can the effective steering ratio be varied with speed, for example, but also the road wheel angles can be controlled by a combination of driver and computer inputs. Features like steering comfort, effort and steering dynamics are optimized and stabilizing steering interventions can be performed. In contrast to the conventional stability control, the yaw rate was fed back to AFS controller and the stability performance was optimized with Sliding Mode control (SMC) method. In addition, tire uncertainties have been taken into account in SM controller to provide the control robustness. In this paper, 3-DOF nonlinear model is used to design the AFS controller and 8-DOF nonlinear model is used to model the controlled vehicle.
Abstract: The effect of an axial electric field on the capillary instability of a cylindrical interface in the presence of heat and mass transfer has been investigated using viscous potential flow theory. In viscous potential flow, the viscous term in Navier-Stokes equation vanishes as vorticity is zero but viscosity is not zero. Viscosity enters through normal stress balance in the viscous potential flow theory and tangential stresses are not considered. A dispersion relation that accounts for the growth of axisymmetric waves is derived and stability is discussed theoretically as well as numerically. Stability criterion is given by critical value of applied electric field as well as critical wave number. Various graphs have been drawn to show the effect of various physical parameters such as electric field, heat transfer capillary number, conductivity ratio, permittivity ratio on the stability of the system. It has been observed that the axial electric field and heat and mass transfer both have stabilizing effect on the stability of the system.
Abstract: In this treatise we will study the capability of static
compensator for reactive power to stabilize sheen voltage with motor
loading on power networks system. We also explain the structure and main function of STATCOM and the method to control it using STATCOM transformer current to simultaneously predict after
telling about the necessity of FACTS tools to compensate in power networks. Then we study topology and controlling system to stabilize
voltage during start of inductive motor. The outcome of stimulat by MATLAB software supports presented controlling idea and
system in the treatise.
Abstract: This paper addresses the problem of asymptotic tracking
control of a linear parabolic partial differential equation with indomain
point actuation. As the considered model is a non-standard
partial differential equation, we firstly developed a map that allows
transforming this problem into a standard boundary control problem
to which existing infinite-dimensional system control methods can
be applied. Then, a combination of energy multiplier and differential
flatness methods is used to design an asymptotic tracking controller.
This control scheme consists of stabilizing state-feedback derived
from the energy multiplier method and feed-forward control based
on the flatness property of the system. This approach represents
a systematic procedure to design tracking control laws for a class
of partial differential equations with in-domain point actuation. The
applicability and system performance are assessed by simulation
studies.
Abstract: This paper presents a Neural Network (NN) identification of icing parameters in an A340 aircraft and a reconfiguration technique to keep the A/C performance close to the performance prior to icing. Five aircraft parameters are assumed to be considerably affected by icing. The off-line training for identifying the clear and iced dynamics is based on the Levenberg-Marquard Backpropagation algorithm. The icing parameters are located in the system matrix. The physical locations of the icing are assumed at the right and left wings. The reconfiguration is based on the technique known as the control mixer approach or pseudo inverse technique. This technique generates the new control input vector such that the A/C dynamics is not much affected by icing. In the simulations, the longitudinal and lateral dynamics of an Airbus A340 aircraft model are considered, and the stability derivatives affected by icing are identified. The simulation results show the successful NN identification of the icing parameters and the reconfigured flight dynamics having the similar performance before the icing. In other words, the destabilizing icing affect is compensated.

Abstract: Linear stability analysis of wake-shear layers in twophase
shallow flows is performed in the present paper. Twodimensional
shallow water equations are used in the analysis. It is
assumed that the fluid contains uniformly distributed solid particles.
No dynamic interaction between the carrier fluid and particles is
expected in the initial moment. The stability calculations are
performed for different values of the particle loading parameter and
two other parameters which characterize the velocity ratio and the
velocity deficit. The results show that the particle loading parameter
has a stabilizing effect on the flow while the increase in the velocity
ratio or in the velocity deficit destabilizes the flow.
Abstract: In this paper, we consider the problem of Popular Matching of strictly ordered preference lists. A Popular Matching is not guaranteed to exist in any network. We propose an IDbased, constant space, self-stabilizing algorithm that converges to a Maximum Popular Matching an optimum solution, if one exist. We show that the algorithm stabilizes in O(n5) moves under any scheduler (daemon).
Abstract: This paper presents the robust stability criteria for uncertain genetic regulatory networks with time-varying delays. One key point of the criterion is that the decomposition of the matrix ˜D into ˜D = ˜D1 + ˜D2. This decomposition corresponds to a decomposition of the delayed terms into two groups: the stabilizing ones and the destabilizing ones. This technique enables one to take the stabilizing effect of part of the delayed terms into account. Meanwhile, by choosing an appropriate new Lyapunov functional, a new delay-dependent stability criteria is obtained and formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, numerical examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.
Abstract: Platinum oxide nanoparticles were prepared by a
simple hydrothermal route and chemical reduction using
carbohydrates (Fructose and sucrose) as the reducing and
stabilizing agents. The crystallite size of these nanoparticles was
evaluated from X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy
(AFM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and was
found to be 10 nm as shown in figure 1, which is the
demonstration of EM bright field and transmission electron
microscopy. The effect of carbohydrates on the morphology of the
nanoparticles was studied using TEM (Figure 1). The
nanoparticles (100 μg/ml) were administered to the Pseudomonas
Stutzeri and Lactobacillus cultures and the incubation was done at
35 oC for 24 hours. The nanocomposites exhibited interesting
inhibitory as well as bactericidal activity against P. Stutzeri and
and Lactobacillus species. Incorporation of nanoparticles also
increased the thermal stability of the carbohydrates.
Abstract: To achieve the desired specifications of gain and
phase margins for plants with time-delay that stabilized with FO-PID
controller a lead compensator is designed. At first the range of
controlled system stability based on stability boundary criteria is
determined. Using stability boundary locus method in frequency
domain the fractional order controller parameters are tuned and then
with drawing bode diagram in frequency domain accessing to desired
gain and phase margin are shown. Numerical examples are given to
illustrate the shapes of the stabilizing region and to show the design
procedure.
Abstract: Adaptive observers used in sensorless control of induction motors suffer from instability especally in regenerating mode. In this paper, an optimal feed back gain design is proposed, it can reduce the instability region in the torque speed plane .
Abstract: Sufficient linear matrix inequalities (LMI) conditions for regularization of discrete-time singular systems are given. Then a new class of regularizing stabilizing controllers is discussed. The proposed controllers are the sum of predictive and memoryless state feedbacks. The predictive controller aims to regularizing the singular system while the memoryless state feedback is designed to stabilize the resulting regularized system. A systematic procedure is given to calculate the controller gains through linear matrix inequalities.
Abstract: Variable Structure Control (VSC) is one of the most useful tools handling the practical system with uncertainties and disturbances. Up to now, unfortunately, not enough studies on the input-saturated system with linear-growth-bound disturbances via VSC have been presented. Therefore, this paper proposes an asymp¬totic stability condition for the system via VSC. The designed VSC controller consists of two control parts. The linear control part plays a role in stabilizing the system, and simultaneously, the nonlinear control part in rejecting the linear-growth-bound disturbances perfectly. All conditions derived in this paper are expressed with Linear Matrices Inequalities (LMIs), which can be easily solved with an LMI toolbox in MATLAB.
Abstract: In this paper, we show that the stability can not be
achieved with current stabilizing MPC methods for some unstable
processes. Hence we present a new method for stabilizing these
processes. The main idea is to use a new time varying weighted cost
function for traditional GPC. This stabilizes the closed loop system
without adding soft or hard constraint in optimization problem. By
studying different examples it is shown that using the proposed
method, the closed-loop stability of unstable nonminimum phase
process is achieved.
Abstract: The Marangoni convective instability in a horizontal
fluid layer with the insoluble surfactant and nondeformable free
surface is investigated. The surface tension at the free surface is
linearly dependent on the temperature and concentration gradients.
At the bottom surface, the temperature conditions of uniform
temperature and uniform heat flux are considered. By linear stability
theory, the exact analytical solutions for the steady Marangoni
convection are derived and the marginal curves are plotted. The
effects of surfactant or elasticity number, Lewis number and Biot
number on the marginal Marangoni instability are assessed. The
surfactant concentration gradients and the heat transfer mechanism at
the free surface have stabilizing effects while the Lewis number
destabilizes fluid system. The fluid system with uniform temperature
condition at the bottom boundary is more stable than the fluid layer
that is subjected to uniform heat flux at the bottom boundary.
Abstract: We study bifurcation structure of the zonal jet flow the
streamfunction of which is expressed by a single spherical harmonics
on a rotating sphere. In the non-rotating case, we find that a steady
traveling wave solution arises from the zonal jet flow through Hopf
bifurcation. As the Reynolds number increases, several traveling
solutions arise only through the pitchfork bifurcations and at high
Reynolds number the bifurcating solutions become Hopf unstable. In
the rotating case, on the other hand, under the stabilizing effect of
rotation, as the absolute value of rotation rate increases, the number
of the bifurcating solutions arising from the zonal jet flow decreases
monotonically. We also carry out time integration to study unsteady
solutions at high Reynolds number and find that in the non-rotating
case the unsteady solutions are chaotic, while not in the rotating cases
calculated. This result reflects the general tendency that the rotation
stabilizes nonlinear solutions of Navier-Stokes equations.

Abstract: The modern world is experiencing fundamental and dynamic changes. The transformation of international relations; the end of confrontation and successive overcoming of the Cold War consequences have expanded possible international cooperation. The global nuclear conflict threat has been minimized, while a tendency to establish a unipolar world structure with the U.S. economic and power domination is growing. The current world system of international relations, apparently is secular. However, the religious beliefs of one or another nations play a certain (sometimes a key) role, both in the domestic affairs of the individual countries and in the development of bilateral ties. Political situation in Central Asia has been characterized by new factors such as international terrorism; religious extremism and radicalism; narcotrafficking and illicit arms trade of a global character immediately threaten to peace and political stability in Central Asia. The role and influence of Islamic fundamentalism is increasing; political ethnocentrism and the associated aggravation of inter-ethnic relations, the ambiguity of national interests and objectives of major geo-political groups in the Central Asian region regarding the division the political influence, emerge. This article approaches the following issues: the role of Islam in Central Asia; destabilizing factors in Central Asia; Islamic movements in Central Asia, Western Europe and the United States; the United States, Western Europe and Central Asia: religion, politics, ideology, and the US-Central Asia antiterrorism and religious extremism cooperation.
