Abstract: This paper takes the actual scene of Aletheia
University campus – the Class 2 national monument, the first
educational institute in northern Taiwan as an example, to present a
3D virtual navigation system which supports user positioning and
pre-download mechanism. The proposed system was designed based
on the principle of Voronoi Diagra) to divide the virtual scenes and
its multimedia information, which combining outdoor GPS
positioning and the indoor RFID location detecting function. When
users carry mobile equipments such as notebook computer, UMPC,
EeePC...etc., walking around the actual scenes of indoor and outdoor
areas of campus, this system can automatically detect the moving
path of users and pre-download the needed data so that users will
have a smooth and seamless navigation without waiting.
Abstract: In this paper, we present a method named Signal Level
Matrix (SLM) which can improve the accuracy and stability of active
RFID indoor positioning system. Considering the accuracy and cost,
we use uniform distribution mode to set up and separate the
overlapped signal covering areas, in order to achieve preliminary
location setting. Then, based on the proposed SLM concept and the
characteristic of the signal strength value that attenuates as the
distance increases, this system cross-examines the distribution of
adjacent signals to locate the users more accurately. The experimental
results indicate that the adaptive positioning method proposed in this
paper could improve the accuracy and stability of the positioning
system effectively and satisfyingly.
Abstract: The computer has become an essential tool in modern
life, and the combined use of a computer with a projector is very
common in teaching and presentations. However, as typical computer
operating devices involve a mouse or keyboard, when making
presentations, users often need to stay near the computer to execute
functions such as changing pages, writing, and drawing, thus, making
the operation time-consuming, and reducing interactions with the
audience. This paper proposes a laser pointer interaction system able
to simulate mouse functions in order that users need not remain near
the computer, but can directly use laser pointer operations from at a
distance. It can effectively reduce the users- time spent by the
computer, allowing for greater interactions with the audience.
