Abstract: Recently, some convergent results of the generalized AOR iterative (GAOR) method for solving linear systems with strictly diagonally dominant matrices are presented in [Darvishi, M.T., Hessari, P.: On convergence of the generalized AOR method for linear systems with diagonally dominant cofficient matrices. Appl. Math. Comput. 176, 128-133 (2006)] and [Tian, G.X., Huang, T.Z., Cui, S.Y.: Convergence of generalized AOR iterative method for linear systems with strictly diagonally dominant cofficient matrices. J. Comp. Appl. Math. 213, 240-247 (2008)]. In this paper, we give the convergence of the GAOR method for linear systems with strictly doubly diagonally dominant matrix, which improves these corresponding results.
Abstract: A parallel computational fluid dynamics code has been
developed for the study of aerodynamic heating problem in hypersonic
flows. The code employs the 3D Navier-Stokes equations as the basic
governing equations to simulate the laminar hypersonic flow. The cell
centered finite volume method based on structured grid is applied for
spatial discretization. The AUSMPW+ scheme is used for the inviscid
fluxes, and the MUSCL approach is used for higher order spatial
accuracy. The implicit LU-SGS scheme is applied for time integration
to accelerate the convergence of computations in steady flows. A
parallel programming method based on MPI is employed to shorten
the computing time. The validity of the code is demonstrated by
comparing the numerical calculation result with the experimental data
of a hypersonic flow field around a blunt body.
Abstract: Information and communication technology (ICT) has
become, within a very short time, one of the basic building blocks of
modern society. Many countries now understanding the importance
of ICT and mastering the basic skills and concepts of it as part of the
core of education. Organizations, experts and practitioners in the
education sector increasingly recognizing the importance of ICT in
supporting educational improvement and reform. This paper
addresses the convergence of ICT and education. When two
technologies are converging to each other, together they will generate
some great opportunities and challenges. This paper focuses on these
issues. In introduction section, it explains the ICT, education, and
ICT-enhanced education. In next section it describes need of ICT in
education, relationship between ICT skills and education, and stages
of teaching learning process. The next two sections describe
opportunities and challenges in integrating ICT in education. Finally
the concluding section summaries the idea and its usefulness.

summability of a sequence of fuzzy numbers and strongly λM- statistically convergent sequences of fuzzy numbers is introduced.
Abstract: The main goal of the present work is to decrease the
computational burden for optimum design of steel frames with
frequency constraints using a new type of neural networks called
Wavelet Neural Network. It is contested to train a suitable neural
network for frequency approximation work as the analysis program.
The combination of wavelet theory and Neural Networks (NN)
has lead to the development of wavelet neural networks.
Wavelet neural networks are feed-forward networks using
wavelet as activation function. Wavelets are mathematical
functions within suitable inner parameters, which help them to
approximate arbitrary functions. WNN was used to predict the
frequency of the structures. In WNN a RAtional function with
Second order Poles (RASP) wavelet was used as a transfer
function. It is shown that the convergence speed was faster
than other neural networks. Also comparisons of WNN with
the embedded Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and with
approximate techniques and also with analytical solutions are
available in the literature.
Abstract: Mathematical justifications are given for a simulation technique of multivariate nonGaussian random processes and fields based on Rosenblatt-s transformation of Gaussian processes. Different types of convergences are given for the approaching sequence. Moreover an original numerical method is proposed in order to solve the functional equation yielding the underlying Gaussian process autocorrelation function.
Abstract: Next generation networks with the idea of convergence of service and control layer in existing networks (fixed, mobile and data) and with the intention of providing services in an integrated network, has opened new horizon for telecom operators. On the other hand, economic problems have caused operators to look for new source of income including consider new services, subscription of more users and their promotion in using morenetwork resources and easy participation of service providers or 3rd party operators in utilizing networks. With this requirement, an architecture based on next generation objectives for service layer is necessary. In this paper, a new architecture based on IMS model explains participation of 3rd party operators in creation and implementation of services on an integrated telecom network.
Abstract: This paper discusses two observers, which are used
for the estimation of parameters of PMSM. Former one, reduced
order observer, which is used to estimate the inaccessible parameters
of PMSM. Later one, full order observer, which is used to estimate
all the parameters of PMSM even though some of the parameters are
directly available for measurement, so as to meet with the
insensitivity to the parameter variation. However, the state space
model contains some nonlinear terms i.e. the product of different
state variables. The asymptotic state observer, which approximately
reconstructs the state vector for linear systems without uncertainties,
was presented by Luenberger. In this work, a modified form of such
an observer is used by including a non-linear term involving the
speed. So, both the observers are designed in the framework of
nonlinear control; their stability and rate of convergence is discussed.
Abstract: Mining Sequential Patterns in large databases has become
an important data mining task with broad applications. It is
an important task in data mining field, which describes potential
sequenced relationships among items in a database. There are many
different algorithms introduced for this task. Conventional algorithms
can find the exact optimal Sequential Pattern rule but it takes a
long time, particularly when they are applied on large databases.
Nowadays, some evolutionary algorithms, such as Particle Swarm
Optimization and Genetic Algorithm, were proposed and have been
applied to solve this problem. This paper will introduce a new kind
of hybrid evolutionary algorithm that combines Genetic Algorithm
(GA) with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to mine Sequential
Pattern, in order to improve the speed of evolutionary algorithms
convergence. This algorithm is referred to as SP-GAPSO.
Abstract: A new method for color image segmentation using fuzzy logic is proposed in this paper. Our aim here is to automatically produce a fuzzy system for color classification and image segmentation with least number of rules and minimum error rate. Particle swarm optimization is a sub class of evolutionary algorithms that has been inspired from social behavior of fishes, bees, birds, etc, that live together in colonies. We use comprehensive learning particle swarm optimization (CLPSO) technique to find optimal fuzzy rules and membership functions because it discourages premature convergence. Here each particle of the swarm codes a set of fuzzy rules. During evolution, a population member tries to maximize a fitness criterion which is here high classification rate and small number of rules. Finally, particle with the highest fitness value is selected as the best set of fuzzy rules for image segmentation. Our results, using this method for soccer field image segmentation in Robocop contests shows 89% performance. Less computational load is needed when using this method compared with other methods like ANFIS, because it generates a smaller number of fuzzy rules. Large train dataset and its variety, makes the proposed method invariant to illumination noise
Abstract: This paper uses the radial basis function neural
network (RBFNN) for system identification of nonlinear systems.
Five nonlinear systems are used to examine the activity of RBFNN in
system modeling of nonlinear systems; the five nonlinear systems are
dual tank system, single tank system, DC motor system, and two
academic models. The feed forward method is considered in this
work for modelling the non-linear dynamic models, where the KMeans
clustering algorithm used in this paper to select the centers of
radial basis function network, because it is reliable, offers fast
convergence and can handle large data sets. The least mean square
method is used to adjust the weights to the output layer, and
Euclidean distance method used to measure the width of the Gaussian
function.
Abstract: In this note, we discuss the convergence behavior of a modified inexact Uzawa algorithm for solving generalized saddle point problems, which is an extension of the result obtained in a recent paper [Z.H. Cao, Fast Uzawa algorithm for generalized saddle point problems, Appl. Numer. Math., 46 (2003) 157-171].
Abstract: A preconditioned Jacobi (PJ) method is provided for solving fuzzy linear systems whose coefficient matrices are crisp Mmatrices and the right-hand side columns are arbitrary fuzzy number vectors. The iterative algorithm is given for the preconditioned Jacobi method. The convergence is analyzed with convergence theorems. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the procedure and show the effectiveness and efficiency of the method.
Abstract: A complex valued neural network is a neural network
which consists of complex valued input and/or weights and/or thresholds
and/or activation functions. Complex-valued neural networks
have been widening the scope of applications not only in electronics
and informatics, but also in social systems. One of the most important
applications of the complex valued neural network is in signal
processing. In Neural networks, generalized mean neuron model
(GMN) is often discussed and studied. The GMN includes a new
aggregation function based on the concept of generalized mean of all
the inputs to the neuron. This paper aims to present exhaustive results
of using Generalized Mean Neuron model in a complex-valued neural
network model that uses the back-propagation algorithm (called
-Complex-BP-) for learning. Our experiments results demonstrate the
effectiveness of a Generalized Mean Neuron Model in a complex
plane for signal processing over a real valued neural network. We
have studied and stated various observations like effect of learning
rates, ranges of the initial weights randomly selected, error functions
used and number of iterations for the convergence of error required on
a Generalized Mean neural network model. Some inherent properties
of this complex back propagation algorithm are also studied and
discussed.
Abstract: In this paper, novel techniques in increasing the accuracy
and speed of convergence of a Feed forward Back propagation
Artificial Neural Network (FFBPNN) with polynomial activation
function reported in literature is presented. These technique was
subsequently used to determine the coefficients of Autoregressive
Moving Average (ARMA) and Autoregressive (AR) system. The
results obtained by introducing sequential and batch method of weight
initialization, batch method of weight and coefficient update, adaptive
momentum and learning rate technique gives more accurate result
and significant reduction in convergence time when compared t the
traditional method of back propagation algorithm, thereby making
FFBPNN an appropriate technique for online ARMA coefficient
determination.

Abstract: This research proposes a methodology for patent-citation-based technology input-output analysis by applying the patent information to input-output analysis developed for the dependencies among different industries. For this analysis, a technology relationship matrix and its components, as well as input and technology inducement coefficients, are constructed using patent information. Then, a technology inducement coefficient is calculated by normalizing the degree of citation from certain IPCs to the different IPCs (International patent classification) or to the same IPCs. Finally, we construct a Dependency Structure Matrix (DSM) based on the technology inducement coefficient to suggest a useful application for this methodology.
Abstract: Economic dispatch (ED) has been considered to be one of the key functions in electric power system operation which can help to build up effective generating management plans. The practical ED problem has non-smooth cost function with nonlinear constraints which make it difficult to be effectively solved. This paper presents a novel heuristic and efficient optimization approach based on the new Bat algorithm (BA) to solve the practical non-smooth economic dispatch problem. The proposed algorithm easily takes care of different constraints. In addition, two newly introduced modifications method is developed to improve the variety of the bat population when increasing the convergence speed simultaneously. The simulation results obtained by the proposed algorithms are compared with the results obtained using other recently develop methods available in the literature.
