Abstract: Stocking density is considered one of the important
factors affecting fish growth. But, information related to impact of
stocking density on growth performance of monosex tilapia population
under the ecological conditions of Gangetic plains in West Bengal,
India is limited. The aim of our study was to compare the growth
potential of monosex tilapia at various stocking densities and to
determine an ideal stocking density for culture of all-male monosex
fish. The males were isolated by examination of genital papilla region
and were stocked separately in 0.01 ha earthen ponds at different
stocking densities (5000, 10000, 15000, 20000, 25000 and 30000
fingerlings/ha). It was found that the highest weight, length, daily
weight gain, growth rate and protein content were observed for the
20000 fish/ha density class. Thus, culture of monosex tilapia at a
density of 20000 fish/ha can be considered ideal for augmented
production of the fish under Indian context.
Abstract: The composition, vapour pressure, and heat capacity
of nine biodiesel fuels from different sources were measured. The
vapour pressure of the biodiesel fuels is modeled assuming an ideal
liquid phase of the fatty acid methyl esters constituting the fuel. New
methodologies to calculate the vapour pressure and ideal gas and
liquid heat capacities of the biodiesel fuel constituents are proposed.
Two alternative optimization scenarios are evaluated: 1) vapour
pressure only; 2) vapour pressure constrained with liquid heat
capacity. Without physical constraints, significant errors in liquid
heat capacity predictions were found whereas the constrained
correlation accurately fit both vapour pressure and liquid heat
capacity.
Abstract: Air conditioning is mainly use as human comfort
cooling medium. It use more in high temperatures are country such as
Malaysia. Proper estimation of cooling load will archive ideal
temperature. Without proper estimation can lead to over estimation or
under estimation. The ideal temperature should be comfort enough.
This study is to develop a program to calculate an ideal cooling load
demand, which is match with heat gain. Through this study, it is easy
to calculate cooling load estimation. Objective of this study are to
develop user-friendly and easy excess cooling load program. This is
to insure the cooling load can be estimate by any of the individual
rather than them using rule-of-thumb. Developed software is carryout
by using Matlab-GUI. These developments are only valid for
common building in Malaysia only. An office building was select as
case study to verify the applicable and accuracy of develop software.
In conclusion, the main objective has successfully where developed
software is user friendly and easily to estimate cooling load demand.
