Abstract: This paper studies, maps and explains the interactions between downloaders and uploaders pertaining to the Internet film piracy. This study also covers several motivational factors that influence users to upload or download movies, and thus to engage in film piracy over the Internet. The essay also proposes a model that describes user behavior including their relationships and influences. Moreover, proposed theoretical interactions and motivational factors are applied to the real world scenario, using examples of a data storage webpage server Ulozto.net and webpage Piratebay.org gathering information about downloadable BitTorrents. Moreover, the theory is further supported by description of behavior of real Internet uploaders.
Abstract: Modernizing legacy applications is the key issue facing IT managers today because there's enormous pressure on organizations to change the way they run their business to meet the new requirements. The importance of software maintenance and reengineering is forever increasing. Understanding the architecture of existing legacy applications is the most critical issue for maintenance and reengineering. The artifacts recovery can be facilitated with different recovery approaches, methods and tools. The existing methods provide static and dynamic set of techniques for extracting architectural information, but are not suitable for all users in different domains. This paper presents a simple and lightweight pattern extraction technique to extract different artifacts from legacy systems using regular expression pattern specifications with multiple language support. We used our custom-built tool DRT to recover artifacts from existing system at different levels of abstractions. In order to evaluate our approach a case study is conducted.
Abstract: The heterotrophic seedling growth can be defined as a
product of two components: (1) the weight of mobilized seed reserve,
and (2) conversion efficiency of utilized seed reserve to seedling
tissue. The first component can be further divided into (1) initial seed
weight, and (2) the fraction of seed reserve, which is mobilized. The
objective of this study was the identification of the sensitive seedling
growth component(s) in response to drought and salinity stresses.
Two experiments were separately conducted using various salinity
levels (osmotic pressure) of 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1, 1.25 and 1.5 MPa
created using NaCl as first experiment and by polyethylene glycol
(drought stress) of 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1, 1.2 and 1.4 MPa in second
experiment. Seeds of five crops species (Hordeum vulgare, Brassica
napus, Zea mays, Medicago sativa and Medicago scutellata) were
used in each experiment. In both experiments, seedling growth,
fraction of seed reserve utilization and weight of mobilized seed
reserve decreased with increasing drought and salt intensity.
However, drought and salinity stresses had no effect on the
conversion efficiency. It was concluded that the sensitive component
of seedling growth is the weight of mobilized seed reserve.
Abstract: The aim of this study was to synthesize the single
walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and determine their hydrogen
storage capacities. SWCNTs were firstly synthesized by chemical
vapor deposition (CVD) of acetylene (C2H2) on a magnesium oxide
(MgO) powder impregnated with an iron nitrate (Fe(NO3)3·9H2O)
solution. The synthesis parameters were selected as: the synthesis
temperature of 800°C, the iron content in the precursor of 5% and the
synthesis time of 30 min. Purification process of SWCNTs was
fulfilled by microwave digestion at three different temperatures (120,
150 and 200 °C), three different acid concentrations (0.5, 1 and 1.5
M) and for three different time intervals (15, 30 and 60 min). Nitric
acid (HNO3) was used in the removal of the metal catalysts. The
hydrogen storage capacities of the purified materials were measured
using volumetric method at the liquid nitrogen temperature and gas
pressure up to 100 bar. The effects of the purification conditions such
as temperature, time and acid concentration on hydrogen adsorption
were investigated.
Abstract: Snow cover is an important phenomenon in
hydrology, hence modeling the snow accumulation and melting is an
important issue in places where snowmelt significantly contributes to
runoff and has significant effect on water balance. The physics-based
models are invariably distributed, with the basin disaggregated into
zones or grid cells. Satellites images provide valuable data to verify
the accuracy of spatially distributed model outputs. In this study a
spatially distributed physically based model (WetSpa) was applied to
predict snow cover and melting in the Latyan dam watershed in Iran.
Snowmelt is simulated based on an energy balance approach. The
model is applied and calibrated with one year of observed daily
precipitation, air temperature, windspeed, and daily potential
evaporation. The predicted snow-covered area is compared with
remotely sensed images (MODIS). The results show that simulated
snow cover area SCA has a good agreement with satellite image
snow cover area SCA from MODIS images. The model performance
is also tested by statistical and graphical comparison of simulated and
measured discharges entering the Latyan dam reservoir.
Abstract: We developed a method based on quasi-molecular
modelling to simulate the fall of water drops on horizontally smooth
and rough surfaces. Each quasi-molecule was a group of particles
that interacted in a fashion entirely analogous to classical Newtonian
molecular interactions. When a falling water droplet was simulated at
low impact velocity on both smooth and rough surfaces, the droplets
moved periodically (i.e. the droplets moved up and down for a
certain period, finally they stopped moving and reached a steady
state), spreading and recoiling without splash or break-up. Spreading
rates of falling water droplets increased rapidly as time increased
until the spreading rate reached its steady state at time t ~ 0.25 s for
rough surface and t ~ 0.40 s for smooth surface. The droplet height
above both surfaces decreased as time increased, remained constant
after the droplet diameter attained a maximum value and reached its
steady state at time t ~ 0.4 s. However, rough surface had higher
spreading rates of falling water droplets and lower height on the
surface than smooth one.
Abstract: Based on a long-term vegetation index dataset of NDVI and meteorological data from 68 meteorological stations in the Qinghai-Tibet plateau and their relations with major climate factors were analyzed. The results show the following: 1) The linear trends of temperature in the Qinghai-Tibet plateau indicate that the temperature in the plateau generally increased, but it rose faster in the last 20 years. 2) The most significant NDVI increase occurred in the eastern and southern plateau. However, the western and northern plateau demonstrate a decreasing trend. 3) There is a significant positive linear correlation between NDVI and temperature and a negative correlation between NDVI and mean wind speed. However, no significant statistical relationship was found between NDVI and relative humidity, precipitation or sunshine duration.4) The changes in NDVI for the plateau are driven by temperature-precipitation, but for the desert and forest areas, the relation changes to precipitation-temperature-wind velocity and wind velocity-temperature-precipitation.
Abstract: In recent years, the number of natural disasters in the world has occurred frequently. After a strong earthquake occurs, multiple disasters due to tsunami, strong aftershocks or heavy snow can possible to occur. To prevent a secondary disaster and to save a life, the quick inspection of the damaged building is necessary. This paper investigated on a possibility of post earthquake quick inspection of damaged building by ordinary people which used the European Macro- Seismic Scale 1998 (EMS-98).
Abstract: The implementations of green roof have been widely
used in the developed countries such as Germany, United Kingdom,
United States and Canada. Green roof have many benefits such as
aesthetic and economic value, ecological gain which are optimization
of storm water management, urban heat island mitigation and energy
conservation. In term of pollution, green roof can control the air and
noise pollution in urban cities. The application of green roof in
Malaysian building has been studied with the previous work of green
roof either in Malaysia or other Asian region as like Indonesia,
Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and several other countries that have
similar climate and environment as in Malaysia. These technologies
of adapting green roof have been compared to the Green Building
Index (GBI) of Malaysian buildings. The study has concentrated on
the technical aspect of green roof system having focused on i) waste
& recyclable materials ii) types of plants and method of planting and
iii) green roof as tool to reduce storm water runoff. The finding of
these areas will be compared to the suitability in achieving good
practice of the GBI in Malaysia. Results show that most of the
method are based on the countries own climate and environment.
This suggests that the method of using green roof must adhere to the
tropical climate of Malaysia. Suggestion of this research will be
viewed in term of the sustainability of the green roof. Further
research can be developed to implement the best method and
application in Malaysian climate especially in urban cities and
township.

Abstract: In the crack growth analysis, the Stress Intensity
Factor (SIF) is a fundamental prerequisite. In the present study, the
mode I stress intensity factor (SIF) of three-dimensional penny-
Shaped crack is obtained in an isotropic elastic cylindrical medium
with arbitrary dimensions under arbitrary loading at the top of the
cylinder, by the semi-analytical method based on the Rayleigh-Ritz
method. This method that is based on minimizing the potential
energy amount of the whole of the system, gives a very close results
to the previous studies. Defining the displacements (elastic fields) by
hypothetical functions in a defined coordinate system is the base of
this research. So for creating the singularity conditions at the tip of
the crack the appropriate terms should be found.
Abstract: A seismic isolation pad produced by utilizing the scrap
tire rubber which contains interleaved steel reinforcing cords has been
proposed. The steel cords are expected to function similar to the steel
plates used in conventional laminated rubber bearings. The scrap tire
rubber pad (STRP) isolator is intended to be used in low rise
residential buildings of highly seismic areas of the developing
countries. Experimental investigation was conducted on unbonded
STRP isolators, and test results provided useful information including
stiffness, damping values and an eventual instability of the isolation
unit. Finite element analysis (FE analysis) of STRP isolator was
carried out on properly bonded samples. These types of isolators
provide positive incremental force resisting capacity up to shear strain
level of 155%. This paper briefly discusses the force deformation
behavior of bonded STRP isolators including stability of the isolation
unit.
Abstract: Multicast transmissions allow an host (the source) to send only one flow bound for a group of hosts (the receivers). Any equipment eager to belong to the group may explicitly register itself to that group via its multicast router. This router will be given the responsibility to convey all information relating to the group to all registered hosts. However in an environment in which the final receiver or the source frequently moves, the multicast flows need particular treatment. This constitutes one of the multicast transmissions problems around which several proposals were made in the Mobile IPv6 case in general. In this article, we describe the problems involved in this IPv6 multicast mobility and the existing proposals for their resolution. Then architecture will be proposed aiming to satisfy and optimize these transmissions in the specific case of a mobile multicast receiver in NC-HMIPv6 environment.
Abstract: This method decrease usage power (expenditure) in networks on chips (NOC). This method data coding for data transferring in order to reduces expenditure. This method uses data compression reduces the size. Expenditure calculation in NOC occurs inside of NOC based on grown models and transitive activities in entry ports. The goal of simulating is to weigh expenditure for encoding, decoding and compressing in Baseline networks and reduction of switches in this type of networks. Abstract: This paper presents a novel methodology for Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) of a grid-connected 20 kW Photovoltaic (PV) system using neuro-fuzzy network. The proposed method predicts the reference PV voltage guarantying optimal power transfer between the PV generator and the main utility grid. The neuro-fuzzy network is composed of a fuzzy rule-based classifier and three Radial Basis Function Neural Networks (RBFNN). Inputs of the network (irradiance and temperature) are classified before they are fed into the appropriated RBFNN for either training or estimation process while the output is the reference voltage. The main advantage of the proposed methodology, comparing to a conventional single neural network-based approach, is the distinct generalization ability regarding to the nonlinear and dynamic behavior of a PV generator. In fact, the neuro-fuzzy network is a neural network based multi-model machine learning that defines a set of local models emulating the complex and non-linear behavior of a PV generator under a wide range of operating conditions. Simulation results under several rapid irradiance variations proved that the proposed MPPT method fulfilled the highest efficiency comparing to a conventional single neural network.
Abstract: The main issue in sweetening natural gas is H2S
dissociation. The present study is concerned with simulating thermal
dissociation of H2S in industrial natural gas carbon black furnace.
The comparison of calculated results against experimental
measurements shows good agreement. The results show that sulfur
derived from H2S thermal dissociation peaked at φ=0.95. H2S
thermal dissociation is enhanced in equivalence ratio upper than 1
and H2S oxidization is increased in equivalence ratio lower than 1.
H2 concentration of H2S thermal dissociation is increased with
increase of equivalence ratio up to 1. Also, H2S concentration
decreased in outlet as equivalence ratio increases. H2S thermal
dissociation to hydrogen and Sulfur reduces its toxic characteristics
and make economical benefits.
Abstract: Nanomaterials have attracted considerable attention
during the last two decades, due to their unusual electrical, mechanical
and other physical properties as compared with their bulky
counterparts. The mechanical properties of nanostructured materials
show strong size dependency, which has been explained within the
framework of continuum mechanics by including the effects of surface
stress. The size-dependent deformations of two-dimensional
nanosized structures with surface effects are investigated in the paper
by the finite element method. Truss element is used to evaluate the
contribution of surface stress to the total potential energy and the
Gurtin and Murdoch surface stress model is implemented with
ANSYS through its user programmable features. The proposed
approach is used to investigate size-dependent stress concentration
around a nanosized circular hole and the size-dependent effective
moduli of nanoporous materials. Numerical results are compared with
available analytical results to validate the proposed modeling
approach.
Abstract: The purpose of this investigation is to relate the rain
power and the overland flow power to soil erodibility to assess the
effects of both parameters on soil erosion using variable rainfall
intensity on remoulded agricultural soil. Six rainfall intensities were
used to simulate the natural rainfall and are as follows: 12.4mm/h,
20.3mm/h, 28.6mm/h, 52mm/h, 73.5mm/h and 103mm/h. The results
have shown that the relationship between overland flow power and
rain power is best represented by a linear function (R2=0.99). As
regards the relationships between soil erodibility factor and rain and
overland flow powers, the evolution of both parameters with the
erodibility factor follow a polynomial function with high coefficient
of determination. From their coefficients of determination (R2=0.95)
for rain power and (R2=0.96) for overland flow power, we can
conclude that the flow has more power to detach particles than rain.
This could be explained by the fact that the presence of particles,
already detached by rain and transported by the flow, give the flow
more weight and then contribute to the detachment of particles by
collision.
Abstract: The main goal of this work is to propose a way for
combined use of two nontraditional algorithms by solving topological
problems on telecommunications concentrator networks. The
algorithms suggested are the Simulated Annealing algorithm and the
Genetic Algorithm. The Algorithm of Simulated Annealing unifies
the well known local search algorithms. In addition - Simulated
Annealing allows acceptation of moves in the search space witch lead
to decisions with higher cost in order to attempt to overcome any
local minima obtained. The Genetic Algorithm is a heuristic approach
witch is being used in wide areas of optimization works. In the last
years this approach is also widely implemented in
Telecommunications Networks Planning. In order to solve less or
more complex planning problem it is important to find the most
appropriate parameters for initializing the function of the algorithm.
