Abstract: The concept of privacy, seen in connection to the consumer's private space and personalization, has recently gained a higher importance as a consequence of the increasing marketing efforts of the organizations based on the capturing, processing and usage of consumer-s personal data.Paper intends to provide a definition of the consumer-s private space based on the types of personal data the consumer is willing to disclose, to assess the attitude toward personalization and to identify the means preferred by consumers to control their personal data and defend their private space. Several implications generated through the definition of the consumer-s private space are identified and weighted from both the consumers- and organizations- perspectives.
Abstract: Tourists- eyes will often be attracted by the unique
phenomenon of the roadsides: betel nut beauties (pronounced as
binlang xishi in Mandarin), if they drive on the roads of Taiwan.
Sitting in the neon-lit glass stalls with attractive dress on the roadsides,
betel nut beauties usually sell betel nuts to the passing truckers or car
drivers with much of their efforts. Moreover, in order to attract
peoples- eyesight and increase the sales volume, the young girls are in
skimpy clothing to promote betel nuts or beverages to their customers.
Therefore, when the Chinese tourists come to Taiwan, to see the
unique betel nut beauty phenomenon has become one of their greatly
interested things or even a “must see". This paper describes betel but
beauties in Taiwan, explained why the Chinese tourists like to see
them in Taiwan and proposed propositions for examination.
Abstract: This paper reports on a receding horizon filtering for
mobile robot systems with cross-correlated sensor noises and
uncertainties. Also, the effect of uncertain parameters in the state of
the tracking error model performance is considered. A distributed
fusion receding horizon filter is proposed. The distributed fusion
filtering algorithm represents the optimal linear combination of the
local filters under the minimum mean square error criterion. The
derivation of the error cross-covariances between the local receding
horizon filters is the key of this paper. Simulation results of the
tracking mobile robot-s motion demonstrate high accuracy and
computational efficiency of the distributed fusion receding horizon
filter.
Abstract: In this paper a new embedded Singly Diagonally
Implicit Runge-Kutta Nystrom fourth order in fifth order method for
solving special second order initial value problems is derived. A
standard set of test problems are tested upon and comparisons on the
numerical results are made when the same set of test problems are
reduced to first order systems and solved using the existing
embedded diagonally implicit Runge-Kutta method. The results
suggests the superiority of the new method.
Abstract: Stresses for the elastic-plastic transition and fully
plastic state have been derived for a thin rotating disc with inclusion
and results have been discussed numerically and depicted graphically.
It has been observed that the rotating disc with inclusion and made of
compressible material requires lesser angular speed to yield at the
internal surface whereas it requires higher percentage increase in
angular speed to become fully plastic as compare to disc made of
incompressible material.
Abstract: In this paper, estimation of the linear regression
model is made by ordinary least squares method and the
partially linear regression model is estimated by penalized
least squares method using smoothing spline. Then, it is
investigated that differences and similarity in the sum of
squares related for linear regression and partial linear
regression models (semi-parametric regression models). It is
denoted that the sum of squares in linear regression is reduced
to sum of squares in partial linear regression models.
Furthermore, we indicated that various sums of squares in the
linear regression are similar to different deviance statements in
partial linear regression. In addition to, coefficient of the
determination derived in linear regression model is easily
generalized to coefficient of the determination of the partial
linear regression model. For this aim, it is made two different
applications. A simulated and a real data set are considered to
prove the claim mentioned here. In this way, this study is
supported with a simulation and a real data example.
Abstract: Hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is formed by thermally
treating products rich in carbohydrates. HMF and other furan
derivatives are toxic.
The aim of the research was to establish the content of HMF in
gingerbread biscuits with honey and sugar syrup additives by using
three leavening agents— ammonium carbonate (NH4HCO3 and
(NH4)2CO3), baking powder, and baking soda (NaHCO3).
The content of HMF is significantly affected by the leavening
agent used. The content of HMF with honey where ammonium
carbonate was used as additive range from 5.7 to 27.3mg 100g-1, but
when sugar syrup is used the content varies from 2.3 to 7.4mg 100g-1.
When baking powder and baking soda are used as leavening agents,
the content of HMF exceeds 4mg 100g-1 in the event honey had been
added and the baking time had been longer (10 minutes at 180°C or
9 minutes at 200°C).
Abstract: Basic ingredients of concrete are cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and water. To produce a concrete of certain specific properties, optimum proportion of these ingredients are mixed. The important factors which govern the mix design are grade of concrete, type of cement and size, shape and grading of aggregates. Concrete mix design method is based on experimentally evolved empirical relationship between the factors in the choice of mix design. Basic draw backs of this method are that it does not produce desired strength, calculations are cumbersome and a number of tables are to be referred for arriving at trial mix proportion moreover, the variation in attainment of desired strength is uncertain below the target strength and may even fail. To solve this problem, a lot of cubes of standard grades were prepared and attained 28 days strength determined for different combination of cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and water. An artificial neural network (ANN) was prepared using these data. The input of ANN were grade of concrete, type of cement, size, shape and grading of aggregates and output were proportions of various ingredients. With the help of these inputs and outputs, ANN was trained using feed forward back proportion model. Finally trained ANN was validated, it was seen that it gave the result with/ error of maximum 4 to 5%. Hence, specific type of concrete can be prepared from given material properties and proportions of these materials can be quickly evaluated using the proposed ANN.
Abstract: The aeration process via injectors is used to combat
the lack of oxygen in lakes due to eutrophication. A 3D numerical
simulation of the resulting flow using a simplified model is presented.
In order to generate the best dynamic in the fluid with respect to
the aeration purpose, the optimization of the injectors location is
considered. We propose to adapt to this problem the topological
sensitivity analysis method which gives the variation of a criterion
with respect to the creation of a small hole in the domain. The main
idea is to derive the topological sensitivity analysis of the physical
model with respect to the insertion of an injector in the fluid flow
domain. We propose in this work a topological optimization algorithm
based on the studied asymptotic expansion. Finally we present some
numerical results, showing the efficiency of our approach
Abstract: The Goursat partial differential equation arises in
linear and non linear partial differential equations with mixed
derivatives. This equation is a second order hyperbolic partial
differential equation which occurs in various fields of study such as
in engineering, physics, and applied mathematics. There are many
approaches that have been suggested to approximate the solution of
the Goursat partial differential equation. However, all of the
suggested methods traditionally focused on numerical differentiation
approaches including forward and central differences in deriving the
scheme. An innovation has been done in deriving the Goursat partial
differential equation scheme which involves numerical integration
techniques. In this paper we have developed a new scheme to solve
the Goursat partial differential equation based on the Adomian
decomposition (ADM) and associated with Boole-s integration rule to
approximate the integration terms. The new scheme can easily be
applied to many linear and non linear Goursat partial differential
equations and is capable to reduce the size of computational work.
The accuracy of the results reveals the advantage of this new scheme
over existing numerical method.
Abstract: The paper deals with calculation of the parameters of
ceramic material from a set of destruction tests of ceramic heads of
total hip joint endoprosthesis. The standard way of calculation of the
material parameters consists in carrying out a set of 3 or 4 point
bending tests of specimens cut out from parts of the ceramic material
to be analysed. In case of ceramic heads, it is not possible to cut out
specimens of required dimensions because the heads are too small (if
the cut out specimens were smaller than the normalised ones, the
material parameters derived from them would exhibit higher strength
values than those which the given ceramic material really has). On
that score, a special testing jig was made, in which 40 heads were
destructed. From the measured values of circumferential strains of the
head-s external spherical surface under destruction, the state of stress
in the head under destruction was established using the final elements
method (FEM). From the values obtained, the sought for parameters
of the ceramic material were calculated using Weibull-s weakest-link
theory.
Abstract: This paper focuses on analyzing medical diagnostic data using classification rules in data mining and context reduction in formal concept analysis. It helps in finding redundancies among the various medical examination tests used in diagnosis of a disease. Classification rules have been derived from positive and negative association rules using the Concept lattice structure of the Formal Concept Analysis. Context reduction technique given in Formal Concept Analysis along with classification rules has been used to find redundancies among the various medical examination tests. Also it finds out whether expensive medical tests can be replaced by some cheaper tests.
Abstract: Leading topic of this article is description of Lorentz
forces in the container with cuboid and cylindrical shape. Inside of
the container is an electrically conductive melt. This melt is driven by
rotating magnetic field. Input data for comparing Lorentz forces in
the container with cuboid shape were obtained from the computing
program NS-FEM3D, which uses DDS method of computing. Values
of Lorentz forces for container with cylindrical shape were obtained
from inferred analytical formula.
Abstract: This paper describes the design and results of FROID,
an outbound intrusion detection system built with agent technology
and supported by an attacker-centric ontology. The prototype
features a misuse-based detection mechanism that identifies remote
attack tools in execution. Misuse signatures composed of attributes
selected through entropy analysis of outgoing traffic streams and
process runtime data are derived from execution variants of attack
programs. The core of the architecture is a mesh of self-contained
detection cells organized non-hierarchically that group agents in a
functional fashion. The experiments show performance gains when
the ontology is enabled as well as an increase in accuracy achieved
when correlation cells combine detection evidence received from
independent detection cells.
Abstract: How to efficiently assign system resource to route the
Client demand by Gateway servers is a tricky predicament. In this
paper, we tender an enhanced proposal for autonomous recital of
Gateway servers under highly vibrant traffic loads. We devise a
methodology to calculate Queue Length and Waiting Time utilizing
Gateway Server information to reduce response time variance in
presence of bursty traffic.
The most widespread contemplation is performance, because
Gateway Servers must offer cost-effective and high-availability
services in the elongated period, thus they have to be scaled to meet
the expected load. Performance measurements can be the base for
performance modeling and prediction. With the help of performance
models, the performance metrics (like buffer estimation, waiting
time) can be determined at the development process.
This paper describes the possible queue models those can be
applied in the estimation of queue length to estimate the final value
of the memory size. Both simulation and experimental studies using
synthesized workloads and analysis of real-world Gateway Servers
demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system.
Abstract: Most file systems overwrite modified file data and
metadata in their original locations, while the Log-structured File
System (LFS) dynamically relocates them to other locations. We
design and implement the Evergreen file system that can select
between overwriting or relocation for each block of a file or metadata.
Therefore, the Evergreen file system can achieve superior write
performance by sequentializing write requests (similar to LFS-style
relocation) when space utilization is low and overwriting when
utilization is high. Another challenging issue is identifying
performance benefits of LFS-style relocation over overwriting on a
newly introduced SSD (Solid State Drive) which has only
Flash-memory chips and control circuits without mechanical parts.
Our experimental results measured on a SSD show that relocation
outperforms overwriting when space utilization is below 80% and vice
versa.

Abstract: In this article a bibliography research takes place to
track down and introduce the barriers and opportunities for the
adoption of e-Governance services mainly from the side of citizen,
that is to say, the demand side. Although governments invest
continuously in producing of e-Governance services, citizens face
difficulties to adopt these services. Barriers derive and prevent them
from using e-Governance services. Barrier is anything preventing
citizens from the adoption of e-Governance services. Barriers impede
or do not allow the adoption of e-Governance services by the
citizens. If the barriers are pinpointed, it will be possible to take them
into consideration while designing e-Governance services which the
citizens are likely to use, if the obstacles are raised. The barriers will
thus be converted in opportunities that will facilitate the adoption.
Abstract: Dynamic models of power converters are normally
time-varying because of their switching actions. Several approaches
are applied to analyze the power converters to achieve the timeinvariant
models suitable for system analysis and design via the
classical control theory. The paper presents how to derive dynamic
models of the power system consisting of a three-phase controlled
rectifier feeding an uncontrolled buck converter by using the
combination between the well known techniques called the DQ and
the generalized state-space averaging methods. The intensive timedomain
simulations of the exact topology model are used to support
the accuracies of the reported model. The results show that the
proposed model can provide good accuracies in both transient and
steady-state responses.
Abstract: A biophysically based multilayer continuum model of the facial soft tissue composite has been developed for simulating wrinkle formation. The deformed state of the soft tissue block was determined by solving large deformation mechanics equations using the Galerkin finite element method. The proposed soft tissue model is composed of four layers with distinct mechanical properties. These include stratum corneum, epidermal-dermal layer (living epidermis and dermis), subcutaneous tissue and the underlying muscle. All the layers were treated as non-linear, isotropic Mooney Rivlin materials. Contraction of muscle fibres was approximated using a steady-state relationship between the fibre extension ratio, intracellular calcium concentration and active stress in the fibre direction. Several variations of the model parameters (stiffness and thickness of epidermal-dermal layer, thickness of subcutaneous tissue layer) have been considered.
