Abstract: In this paper various techniques in relation to large-scale systems are presented. At first, explanation of large-scale systems and differences from traditional systems are given. Next, possible specifications and requirements on hardware and software are listed. Finally, examples of large-scale systems are presented.
Abstract: The POD makes possible to reduce the complete high-dimensional acoustic field to a low-dimensional subspace where different modes are identified and let reconstruct in a simple way a high percentage of the variance of the field.
Rotating modes are instabilities which are commonly observed in swirling flows. Such modes can appear under both cold and reacting conditions but that they have different sources: while the cold flow rotating mode is essentially hydrodynamic and corresponds to the wellknown PVC (precessing vortex core) observed in many swirled unconfined flows, the rotating structure observed for the reacting case inside the combustion chamber might be not hydrodynamically but acoustically controlled. The two transverse acoustic modes of the combustion chamber couple and create a rotating motion of the flame which leads to a self-sustained turning mode which has the features of a classical PVC but a very different source (acoustics and not hydrodynamics).
Abstract: The problem of optimal planning of multiple sources
of distributed generation (DG) in distribution networks is treated in
this paper using an improved Ant Colony Optimization algorithm
(ACO). This objective of this problem is to determine the DG
optimal size and location that in order to minimize the network real
power losses. Considering the multiple sources of DG, both size and
location are simultaneously optimized in a single run of the proposed
ACO algorithm. The various practical constraints of the problem are
taken into consideration by the problem formulation and the
algorithm implementation. A radial power flow algorithm for
distribution networks is adopted and applied to satisfy these
constraints. To validate the proposed technique and demonstrate its
effectiveness, the well-know 69-bus feeder standard test system is
employed.cm.

Abstract: The present work involves measurements to examine
the effects of initial conditions on aerodynamic and acoustic
characteristics of a Jet at M=0.8 by changing the orientation of sharp
edged orifice plate. A thick plate with chamfered orifice presented divergent and convergent openings when it was flipped over. The centerline velocity was found to decay more rapidly for divergent
orifice and that was consistent with the enhanced mass entrainment
suggesting quicker spread of the jet compared with that from the convergent orifice. The mixing layer region elucidated this effect of
initial conditions at an early stage – the growth was found to be comparatively more pronounced for the divergent orifice resulting in
reduced potential core size. The acoustic measurements, carried out in the near field noise region outside the jet within potential core
length, showed the jet from the divergent orifice to be less noisy. The frequency spectra of the noise signal exhibited that in the initial
region of comparatively thin mixing layer for the convergent orifice,
the peak registered a higher SPL and a higher frequency as well. The noise spectra and the mixing layer development suggested a direct correlation between the coherent structures developing in the initial
region of the jet and the noise captured in the surrounding near field.
Abstract: In this paper, modeling of an acoustic enclosed
vehicle cabin has been carried out by using boundary element
method. Also, the second purpose of this study is analyzing of linear
wave equation in an acoustic field. The resultants of this modeling
consist of natural frequencies that have been compared with
resultants derived from finite element method. By using numerical
method (boundary element method) and after solution of wave
equation inside an acoustic enclosed cabin, this method has been
progressed to simulate noise inside a simple vehicle cabin.
Abstract: Calcium oxide (CaO) as carbon dioxide (CO2)
adsorbent at the elevated temperature has been very well-received
thus far. The CaO can be synthesized from natural calcium carbonate
(CaCO3) sources through the reversible calcination-carbonation
process. In the study, cockle shell has been selected as CaO
precursors. The objectives of the study are to investigate the
performance of calcination and carbonation with respect to different
temperature, heating rate, particle size and the duration time. Overall,
better performance is shown at the calcination temperature of 850oC
for 40 minutes, heating rate of 20oC/min, particle size of < 0.125mm
and the carbonation temperature is at 650oC. The synthesized
materials have been characterized by nitrogen physisorption and
surface morphology analysis. The effectiveness of the synthesized
cockle shell in capturing CO2 (0.72 kg CO2/kg adsorbent) which is
comparable to the commercialized adsorbent (0.60 kg CO2/kg
adsorbent) makes them as the most promising materials for CO2
capture.
Abstract: This paper presents the experimental results on space charge distribution in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulating material for 22 kV power distribution system cable by using pulse electroacoustic measurement technique (PEA). Numbers of XLPE insulating material ribbon having thickness 60 μm taken from unused 22 kV high voltage cable were used as specimen in this study. DC electric field stress was applied to test specimen at room temperature (25°C). Four levels of electric field stress, 25 kV/mm, 50 kV/mm, 75 kV/mm and 100 kV/mm, were used. In order to investigate space charge distribution characteristic, space charge distribution characteristics were measured after applying electric field stress 15 min, 30 min and 60 min, respectively. The results show that applied time and magnitude of dc electric field stress play an important role to the formation of space charge.
Abstract: This paper explores the idea of globalisation and
considers accounting-s role in that process in order to develop new
spaces for accounting research. That-s why in this paper we are
looking for questions not necessary for answers. Adopting an
'alternative' view of accounting it-s related to the fact that we sees
accounting as social and evolutionist process, that pays heed to those
voices arguing for greater social and environmental justice, and that
draws attention to the role of accounting researchers in the process of
globalisation. The paper defines globalisation and expands the
globalisation and accounting research agenda introducing in this
context the harmonization process in accounting. There are the two
main systems which are disputing the first stage of being the
benchmark: GAAP and IFRS. Each of them has his pluses and
minuses on being the selected one. Due to this fact a convergence of
the two, joining the advantages and disadvantages of the two should
be the solution for an unique international accounting solution. Is this
idea realizable, what steps has been made until now, what should be
done in the future. The paper is emphasising the role of the cultural
differences in the process of imposing of an unique international
accounting system by the global organizations..
Abstract: Total weighted tardiness is a measure of customer
satisfaction. Minimizing it represents satisfying the general
requirement of on-time delivery. In this research, we consider an ant
colony optimization (ACO) algorithm to solve the problem of
scheduling unrelated parallel machines to minimize total weighted
tardiness. The problem is NP-hard in the strong sense. Computational
results show that the proposed ACO algorithm is giving promising
results compared to other existing algorithms.
Abstract: A new and cost effective RP-HPLC method was
developed and validated for simultaneous analysis of non steroidal
anti inflammatory dugs Diclofenac sodium (DFS), Flurbiprofen
(FLP) and an opioid analgesic Tramadol (TMD) in advanced drug
delivery systems (Liposome and Microcapsules), marketed brands
and human plasma. Isocratic system was employed for the flow of
mobile phase consisting of 10 mM sodium dihydrogen phosphate
buffer and acetonitrile in molar ratio of 67: 33 with adjusted pH of
3.2. The stationary phase was hypersil ODS column (C18, 250×4.6
mm i.d., 5 μm) with controlled temperature of 30 C°. DFS in
liposomes, microcapsules and marketed drug products was
determined in range of 99.76-99.84%. FLP and TMD in
microcapsules and brands formulation were 99.78 - 99.94 % and
99.80 - 99.82 %, respectively. Single step liquid-liquid extraction
procedure using combination of acetonitrile and trichloroacetic acid
(TCA) as protein precipitating agent was employed. The detection
limits (at S/N ratio 3) of quality control solutions and plasma samples
were 10, 20, and 20 ng/ml for DFS, FLP and TMD, respectively.
The Assay was acceptable in linear dynamic range. All other
validation parameters were found in limits of FDA and ICH method
validation guidelines. The proposed method is sensitive, accurate and
precise and could be applicable for routine analysis in
pharmaceutical industry as well as in human plasma samples for
bioequivalence and pharmacokinetics studies.
Abstract: A robust still image face localization algorithm
capable of operating in an unconstrained visual environment is
proposed. First, construction of a robust skin classifier within a
shifted HSV color space is described. Then various filtering
operations are performed to better isolate face candidates and
mitigate the effect of substantial non-skin regions. Finally, a novel
Bhattacharyya-based face detection algorithm is used to compare
candidate regions of interest with a unique illumination-dependent
face model probability distribution function approximation.
Experimental results show a 90% face detection success rate despite
the demands of the visually noisy environment.
Abstract: An experiment was performed in the south of
Morocco in order to evaluate the effect of deficit irrigation by treated
wastewater on chickpea production. We applied six irrigation
treatments on a local variety of chickpea by supplying alternatively
50 or 100% of ETm in a completely randomized design.
We found a highly significant difference between treatments in
terms of biomass production. Drought stress during the vegetative
period showed highest yield with 6.5 t/ha which was more than the
yield obtained for the control (4.9 t/ha). The optimal crop stage in
which deficit irrigation can be applied is the vegetative growth stage,
as the crop has a chance to develop its root system, to be able to
cover the plant needs for water and nutrient supply during the rest of
cycle, and non stress conditions during the flowering and seed filling
stages allow the plant to optimize its photosynthesis and carbon
translocation, therefore increase its productivity.
Abstract: In this study, a comparison of two control methods,
Proportional Control (PC) and Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC), which
have been used to develop an ideal thermoelectric renal hypothermia
system in order to use in renal surgery, has been carried out. Since
the most important issues in long-lasting parenchymatous renal
surgery are to provide an operation medium free of blood and to
prevent renal dysfunction in the postoperative period, control of the
temperature has become very important in renal surgery. The final
product is seriously affected from the changes in temperature,
therefore, it is necessary to reach some desired temperature points
quickly and avoid large overshoot. PIC16F877 microcontroller has
been used as controller for both of these two methods. Each control
method can simply ensure extra renal hypothermia in the targeted
way. But investigation of advantages and disadvantages of every
control method to each other is aimed and carried out by the
experimental implementations. Shortly, investigation of the most
appropriate method to use for development of system and that can be
applied to people safely in the future, has been performed. In this
sense, experimental results show that fuzzy logic control gives out
more reliable responses and efficient performance.
Abstract: The purpose of this work was to inspect the potential
of vincristine-dextran complex loaded solid lipid nanoparticles for
drug delivery to the brain.
The nanoparticles were stained with a fluorescence dye and their
plasma pharmacokinetic and brain concentrations were investigated
following injection to rats.
The result revealed a significant improvement in the plasma
concentration profile of the SLN injected animals as well as a sharp
increased concentration in the brains.
Abstract: A new reverse phase-high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method with fluorescent detector (FLD) was developed and optimized for Norfloxacin determination in human plasma. Mobile phase specifications, extraction method and excitation and emission wavelengths were varied for optimization. HPLC system contained a reverse phase C18 (5 μm, 4.6 mm×150 mm) column with FLD operated at excitation 330 nm and emission 440 nm. The optimized mobile phase consisted of 14% acetonitrile in buffer solution. The aqueous phase was prepared by mixing 2g of citric acid, 2g sodium acetate and 1 ml of triethylamine in 1 L of Milli-Q water was run at a flow rate of 1.2 mL/min. The standard curve was linear for the range tested (0.156–20 μg/mL) and the coefficient of determination was 0.9978. Aceclofenac sodium was used as internal standard. A detection limit of 0.078 μg/mL was achieved. Run time was set at 10 minutes because retention time of norfloxacin was 0.99 min. which shows the rapidness of this method of analysis. The present assay showed good accuracy, precision and sensitivity for Norfloxacin determination in human plasma with a new internal standard and can be applied pharmacokinetic evaluation of Norfloxacin tablets after oral administration in human.
Abstract: Solar power plants(SPPs) have shown a lot of good outcomes
in providing a various functions depending on industrial expectations by
deploying ad-hoc networking with helps of light loaded and battery powered
sensor nodes. In particular, it is strongly requested to develop an algorithm to
deriver the sensing data from the end node of solar power plants to the sink node
on time. In this paper, based on the above observation we have proposed an
IEEE802.15.4 based self routing scheme for solar power plants. The proposed
beacon based priority routing Algorithm (BPRA) scheme utilizes beacon
periods in sending message with embedding the high priority data and thus
provides high quality of service(QoS) in the given criteria. The performance
measures are the packet Throughput, delivery, latency, total energy
consumption. Simulation results under TinyOS Simulator(TOSSIM) have
shown the proposed scheme outcome the conventional Ad hoc On-Demand
Distance Vector(AODV) Routing in solar power plants.
Abstract: An acoustic emission (AE) technique is useful for
detection of partial discharges (PDs) at a joint and a terminal section of
a cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) cable. For AE technique, it is not
difficult to detect a PD using AE sensors. However, it is difficult to
grasp whether the detected AE signal is owing to a single discharge or
not. Additionally, when an AE technique is applied at a terminal
section of a XLPE cable in salt pollution district, for example, there is
possibility of detection of AE signals owing to creeping discharges on
the surface of electric power apparatus. In this study, we evaluated AE
signals in order to grasp what kind of information we can get from
detected AE signals. The results showed that envelop detection of AE
signal and a period which some AE signals were continuously detected
were good indexes for estimating state-of-discharge.
Abstract: Calcite aCalcite and aragonite are the two common
polymorphs of CaCO3 observed as biominerals. It is universal that
the sea water contents a high Mg2+ (50mM) relative to Ca2+ (10mM).
In vivo crystallization, Mg2+ inhibits calcite formation. For this
reason, stony corals skeleton may be formed only aragonite crystals
in the biocalcification. It is special in case of soft corals of which
formed only calcite crystal; however, this interesting phenomenon,
still uncharacterized in the marine environment, has been explored in
this study using newly purified cell-free proteins isolated from the
endoskeletal sclerites of soft coral. By recording the decline of pH in
vitro, the control of CaCO3 nucleation and crystal growth by the cellfree
proteins was revealed. Using Atomic Force Microscope, here we
find that these endoskeletal cell-free proteins significantly design the
morphological shape in the molecular-scale kinetics of crystal
formation and those proteins act as surfactants to promote ion
attachment at calcite steps.nd aragonite are the two common polymorphs of CaCO3 observed as biominerals. It is universal that the sea water contents a high Mg2+ (50mM) relative to Ca2+ (10mM). Abstract: A lot of research has been done in the past decade in the field of audio content analysis for extracting various information from audio signal. One such significant information is the "perceived mood" or the "emotions" related to a music or audio clip. This information is extremely useful in applications like creating or adapting the play-list based on the mood of the listener. This information could also be helpful in better classification of the music database. In this paper we have presented a method to classify music not just based on the meta-data of the audio clip but also include the "mood" factor to help improve the music classification. We propose an automated and efficient way of classifying music samples based on the mood detection from the audio data. We in particular try to classify the music based on mood for Indian bollywood music. The proposed method tries to address the following problem statement: Genre information (usually part of the audio meta-data) alone does not help in better music classification. For example the acoustic version of the song "nothing else matters by Metallica" can be classified as melody music and thereby a person in relaxing or chill out mood might want to listen to this track. But more often than not this track is associated with metal / heavy rock genre and if a listener classified his play-list based on the genre information alone for his current mood, the user shall miss out on listening to this track. Currently methods exist to detect mood in western or similar kind of music. Our paper tries to solve the issue for Indian bollywood music from an Indian cultural context
