Abstract: As the trend of manufacturing is being dominated depending on services, products and processes are more and more related with sophisticated services. Thus, this research starts with the discussion about integration of the product, process, and service in the innovation process. In particular, this paper sets out some foundations for a theory of service innovation in the field of manufacturing, and proposes the dynamic model of service innovation related to product and process. Two dynamic models of service innovation are suggested to investigate major tendencies and dynamic variations during the innovation cycle: co-innovation and sequential innovation. To structure dynamic models of product, process, and service innovation, the innovation stages in which two models are mainly achieved are identified. The research would encourage manufacturers to formulate strategy and planning for service development with product and process.
Abstract: Bone remodeling occurs by the balanced action of
bone resorbing osteoclasts (OC) and bone-building osteoblasts.
Increased bone resorption by excessive OC activity contributes
to malignant and non-malignant diseases including osteoporosis.
To study OC differentiation and function, OC formed in
in vitro cultures are currently counted manually, a tedious
procedure which is prone to inter-observer differences. Aiming
for an automated OC-quantification system, classification of
OC and precursor cells was done on fluorescence microscope
images based on the distinct appearance of fluorescent nuclei.
Following ellipse fitting to nuclei, a combination of eight
features enabled clustering of OC and precursor cell nuclei.
After evaluating different machine-learning techniques, LOGREG
achieved 74% correctly classified OC and precursor cell
nuclei, outperforming human experts (best expert: 55%). In
combination with the automated detection of total cell areas,
this system allows to measure various cell parameters and most
importantly to quantify proteins involved in osteoclastogenesis.
Abstract: This paper presents a unified approach based graph
theory and system theory postulates for the modeling and analysis
of Simple open cycle Gas turbine system. In the present paper, the
simple open cycle gas turbine system has been modeled up to its subsystem
level and system variables have been identified to develop the
process subgraphs. The theorems and algorithms of the graph theory
have been used to represent behavioural properties of the system like
rate of heat and work transfers rates, pressure drops and temperature
drops in the involved processes of the system. The processes have
been represented as edges of the process subgraphs and their limits
as the vertices of the process subgraphs. The system across variables
and through variables has been used to develop terminal equations of
the process subgraphs of the system. The set of equations developed
for vertices and edges of network graph are used to solve the system
for its process variables.
Abstract: In this paper, a new technique for fast painting with
different colors is presented. The idea of painting relies on applying
masks with different colors to the background. Fast painting is
achieved by applying these masks in the frequency domain instead of
spatial (time) domain. New colors can be generated automatically as a
result from the cross correlation operation. This idea was applied
successfully for faster specific data (face, object, pattern, and code)
detection using neural algorithms. Here, instead of performing cross
correlation between the input input data (e.g., image, or a stream of
sequential data) and the weights of neural networks, the cross
correlation is performed between the colored masks and the
background. Furthermore, this approach is developed to reduce the
computation steps required by the painting operation. The principle of
divide and conquer strategy is applied through background
decomposition. Each background is divided into small in size subbackgrounds
and then each sub-background is processed separately by
using a single faster painting algorithm. Moreover, the fastest painting
is achieved by using parallel processing techniques to paint the
resulting sub-backgrounds using the same number of faster painting
algorithms. In contrast to using only faster painting algorithm, the
speed up ratio is increased with the size of the background when using
faster painting algorithm and background decomposition. Simulation
results show that painting in the frequency domain is faster than that in
the spatial domain.
Abstract: A satellite is being integrated and tested by BISEE (Beijing Institute of Spacecraft Environment Engineering). This paper describes the infrared lamp array simulation technology used for satellite thermal balance and thermal vacuum test. These tests were performed in KM6 space environmental simulator in Beijing, China. New software and hardware developed by BISEE, along with enhanced heat flux uniformity, provided for well accomplished thermal balance and thermal vacuum tests. The flux uniformity of lamp array was satisfied with test requirement. Monitored background radiometer offered reliable heat flux measurements with remarkable repeatability. Simulation software supplied accurate thermal flux distribution predictions.
Abstract: This paper is mainly concerned with the application of a novel technique of data interpretation to the characterization and classification of measurements of plasma columns in Tokamak reactors for nuclear fusion applications. The proposed method exploits several concepts derived from soft computing theory. In particular, Artifical Neural Networks have been exploited to classify magnetic variables useful to determine shape and position of the plasma with a reduced computational complexity. The proposed technique is used to analyze simulated databases of plasma equilibria based on ITER geometry configuration. As well as demonstrating the successful recovery of scalar equilibrium parameters, we show that the technique can yield practical advantages compares with earlier methods.
Abstract: Distributed Generation (DG) in the form of renewable
power generation systems is currently preferred for clean power
generation. It has a significant impact on the distribution systems.
This impact may be either positively or negatively depending on the
distribution system, distributed generator and load characteristics. In
this works, an overview of DG is briefly introduced. The technology
of DG is also listed while the technical impacts and economic
impacts are explained.
Abstract: The resident registration number was adopted for the purposes of enhanced services for resident convenience and effective performance of governmental administrative affairs. However, it has been used for identification purposes customarily and irrationally in line with the development and spread of the Internet. In response to the growing concern about the leakage of collected RRNs and possible abuses of stolen RRNs, e.g. identity theft, for crimes, the Korean Communications Commission began to take legal/regulatory actions in 2011 to minimize the online collection and use of resident registration numbers. As the use of the RRN was limited after the revision of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc., online business providers were required to have alternatives to the RRN for the purpose of identifying the user's identity and age, in compliance with the law, and settling disputes with customers. This paper presents means of verifying the personal identity by taking advantage of the commonly used infrastructure and simply replacing personal information entered and stored, without requiring users to enter their RRNs.
Abstract: A wireless Ad-hoc network consists of wireless nodes
communicating without the need for a centralized administration, in
which all nodes potentially contribute to the routing process. In this
paper, we report the simulation results of four different scenarios for
wireless ad hoc networks having thirty nodes. The performances of
proposed networks are evaluated in terms of number of hops per
route, delay and throughput with the help of OPNET simulator.
Channel speed 1 Mbps and simulation time 600 sim-seconds were
taken for all scenarios. For the above analysis DSR routing protocols
has been used. The throughput obtained from the above analysis
(four scenario) are compared as shown in Figure 3. The average
media access delay at node_20 for two routes and at node_20 for four
different scenario are compared as shown in Figures 4 and 5. It is
observed that the throughput will degrade when it will follow
different hops for same source to destination (i.e. it has dropped from
1.55 Mbps to 1.43 Mbps which is around 9.7%, and then dropped to
0.48Mbps which is around 35%).
Abstract: Glaucoma diagnosis involves extracting three features
of the fundus image; optic cup, optic disc and vernacular. Present
manual diagnosis is expensive, tedious and time consuming. A
number of researches have been conducted to automate this process.
However, the variability between the diagnostic capability of an
automated system and ophthalmologist has yet to be established. This
paper discusses the efficiency and variability between
ophthalmologist opinion and digital technique; threshold. The
efficiency and variability measures are based on image quality
grading; poor, satisfactory or good. The images are separated into
four channels; gray, red, green and blue. A scientific investigation
was conducted on three ophthalmologists who graded the images
based on the image quality. The images are threshold using multithresholding
and graded as done by the ophthalmologist. A
comparison of grade from the ophthalmologist and threshold is made.
The results show there is a small variability between result of
ophthalmologists and digital threshold.
Abstract: This paper introduced the status quo of laws and
regulations of sustainable construction in China and investigated the
existing problems of current laws and regulations through
person-interviews in Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Shenzhen in
China. The problems include incomplete legal system, lack of
guidance of higher-level laws, backward in some laws and regulations,
unclear legal liability and poor law enforcement. Aimed at these
problems, this paper also put forward some improvement approaches,
such as filling the legal gap, revising laws and regulations, establishing
incentive system and keeping pace with level of development.
Abstract: In this paper, a modified CCCII is presented. We have used a current mirror with low supply voltage. This circuit is operated at low supply voltage of ±1V. Tspice simulations for TSMC 0.18μm CMOS Technology has shown that the current and voltage bandwidth are respectively 3.34GHz and 4.37GHz, and parasitic resistance at port X has a value of 169.320 for a control current of 120μA. In order to realize this circuit, we have implemented in this first step a universal current mode filter where the frequency can reach the 134.58MHz. In the second step, we have implemented two simulated inductors: one floating and the other grounded. These two inductors are operated in high frequency and variable depending on bias current I0. Finally, we have used the two last inductors respectively to implement two sinusoidal oscillators domains of frequencies respectively: [470MHz, 692MHz], and [358MHz, 572MHz] for bias currents I0 [80μA, 350μA].
Abstract: In the paper, the results of sensitivity analysis of the influence of initial imperfections on the web stress state of a thinwalled girder are presented. The results of the study corroborate a very good and effective agreement of experiments with theory. Most input random quantities were found experimentally. The change of sensitivity coefficients in dependence on working load value is analysed. The stress was analysed by means of a geometrically and materially non-linear solution by applying the program ANSYS. This research study offers important background for theoretical studies of stability problems, post-critical effects and limit states of thin-walled steel structures.
Abstract: In this paper a non-parametric statistical pattern recognition algorithm for the problem of credit scoring will be presented. The proposed algorithm is based on a clustering k- means algorithm and allows for the determination of subclasses of homogenous elements in the data. The algorithm will be tested on two benchmark datasets and its performance compared with other well known pattern recognition algorithm for credit scoring.
Abstract: In this paper we present a generic approach for the problem of the blind estimation of the parameters of linear and convolutional error correcting codes. In a non-cooperative context, an adversary has only access to the noised transmission he has intercepted. The intercepter has no knowledge about the parameters used by the legal users. So, before having acess to the information he has first to blindly estimate the parameters of the error correcting code of the communication. The presented approach has the main advantage that the problem of reconstruction of such codes can be expressed in a very simple way. This allows us to evaluate theorical bounds on the complexity of the reconstruction process but also bounds on the estimation rate. We show that some classical reconstruction techniques are optimal and also explain why some of them have theorical complexities greater than these experimentally observed.
Abstract: The conceptually construction of axially chiral indolostilbenesi.eN-(2-{(E)-2-[2'-(1-Acetyl-1H-indol-2-yl)-3'chloro-4,4',6,6'-tetramethoxy[1,1'-biphenyl]-2yl]ethenyl}phenyl)acetamide and N-(2-{(E)-2-[2'-(1-Acetyl-1H-indol-2-yl)-3'-chloro-2,4',6,6'-tetramethoxy[1,1'-biphenyl]-4-yl]ethenyl}phenyl) acetamide are described in this paper. These structure, were obtained by the tactical combination of palladium-catalyzed coupling which produced 10-acetamido-3,5-dimethoxystilbene, follow by FeCl3-induced oxidative cyclization/dimerisation. All structures were unambiguously confirmed by 1D (1H, 13C) and 2D NMR experiment, (COSY, HMQC, HMBC) and mass spectrometry.
Abstract: In this paper we present an efficient system for
independent speaker speech recognition based on neural network
approach. The proposed architecture comprises two phases: a
preprocessing phase which consists in segmental normalization and
features extraction and a classification phase which uses neural
networks based on nonparametric density estimation namely the
general regression neural network (GRNN). The relative
performances of the proposed model are compared to the similar
recognition systems based on the Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), the
Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and the well known Discrete
Hidden Markov Model (HMM-VQ) that we have achieved also.
Experimental results obtained with Arabic digits have shown that the
use of nonparametric density estimation with an appropriate
smoothing factor (spread) improves the generalization power of the
neural network. The word error rate (WER) is reduced significantly
over the baseline HMM method. GRNN computation is a successful
alternative to the other neural network and DHMM.
Abstract: In this study we tried to replicate the unconscious
thought advantage (UTA), which states that complex decisions are
better handled by unconscious thinking. We designed an experiment
in e-prime using similar material as the original study (choosing
between four different apartments, each described by 12 attributes).
A total of 73 participants (52 women (71.2%); 18 to 62 age:
M=24.63; SD=8.7) took part in the experiment. We did not replicate
the results suggested by UTT. However, from the present study we
cannot conclude whether this was the case of flaws in the theory or
flaws in our experiment and we discuss several ways in which the
issue of UTA could be examined further.
Abstract: In the last few years, three multivariate spectral
analysis techniques namely, Principal Component Analysis (PCA),
Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and Non-negative Matrix
Factorization (NMF) have emerged as effective tools for oscillation
detection and isolation. While the first method is used in determining
the number of oscillatory sources, the latter two methods
are used to identify source signatures by formulating the detection
problem as a source identification problem in the spectral domain.
In this paper, we present a critical drawback of the underlying linear
(mixing) model which strongly limits the ability of the associated
source separation methods to determine the number of sources
and/or identify the physical source signatures. It is shown that the
assumed mixing model is only valid if each unit of the process gives
equal weighting (all-pass filter) to all oscillatory components in its
inputs. This is in contrast to the fact that each unit, in general, acts
as a filter with non-uniform frequency response. Thus, the model
can only facilitate correct identification of a source with a single
frequency component, which is again unrealistic. To overcome
this deficiency, an iterative post-processing algorithm that correctly
identifies the physical source(s) is developed. An additional issue
with the existing methods is that they lack a procedure to pre-screen
non-oscillatory/noisy measurements which obscure the identification
of oscillatory sources. In this regard, a pre-screening procedure
is prescribed based on the notion of sparseness index to eliminate
the noisy and non-oscillatory measurements from the data set used
for analysis.
Abstract: Development of cities and villages, agricultural farms
and industrial regions in abutment and/or in the course of streams and
rivers or in prone flood lands has been caused more notations in
hydrology problems and city planning topics. In order to protection
of cities against of flood damages, embankment construction is a
desired and scientific method. The cities that located in arid zones
may damage by floods periodically. Zavvareh city in Ardestan
township(Isfahan province) with 7704 people located in Ardestan
plain that has been damaged by floods that have flowed from
dominant mountainous watersheds in past years with regard to return
period. In this study, according to flowed floods toward Zavvareh
city, was attempt to plan suitable hydraulic structures such as canals,
bridges and collectors in order to collection, conduction and
depletion of city surface runoff.
