Abstract: In this paper is described a new conception of the
Cartesian robot for automated assembly and also disassembly
process. The advantage of this conception is the utilization the
Cartesian assembly robot with its all peripheral automated devices for
assembly of the assembled product. The assembly product in the end
of the lifecycle can be disassembled with the same Cartesian
disassembly robot with the use of the same peripheral automated
devices and equipment. It is a new approach to problematic solving
and development of the automated assembly systems with respect to
lifecycle management of the assembly product and also assembly
system with Cartesian robot. It is also important to develop the
methodical process for design of automated assembly and
disassembly system with Cartesian robot. Assembly and disassembly
system use the same Cartesian robot input and output devices,
assembly and disassembly units in one workplace with different
application. Result of design methodology is the verification and
proposition of real automated assembly and disassembly workplace
with Cartesian robot for known verified model of assembled actuator.
Abstract: The objective from this paper is to design a solar
thermal engine for space vehicles orbital control and electricity
generation. A computational model is developed for the prediction of
the solar thermal engine performance for different design parameters and conditions in order to enhance the engine efficiency. The engine is divided into two main subsystems. First, the concentrator dish
which receives solar energy from the sun and reflects them to the
cavity receiver. The second one is the cavity receiver which receives
the heat flux reflected from the concentrator and transfers heat to the
fluid passing over. Other subsystems depend on the application required from the engine. For thrust application, a nozzle is
introduced to the system for the fluid to expand and produce thrust.
Hydrogen is preferred as a working fluid in the thruster application.
Results model developed is used to determine the thrust for a
concentrator dish 4 meters in diameter (provides 10 kW of energy),
focusing solar energy to a 10 cm aperture diameter cavity receiver.
The cavity receiver outer length is 50 cm and the internal cavity is 47
cm in length. The suggested design material of the internal cavity is
tungsten to withstand high temperature. The thermal model and
analysis shows that the hydrogen temperature at the plenum reaches
2000oK after about 250 seconds for hot start operation for a flow rate
of 0.1 g/sec.Using solar thermal engine as an electricity generation
device on earth is also discussed. In this case a compressor and
turbine are used to convert the heat gained by the working fluid (air)
into mechanical power. This mechanical power can be converted into
electrical power by using a generator.
Abstract: Multiport diffusers are the effective engineering
devices installed at the modern marine outfalls for the steady
discharge of effluent streams from the coastal plants, such as
municipal sewage treatment, thermal power generation and seawater
desalination. A mathematical model using a two-dimensional
advection-diffusion equation based on a flat seabed and incorporating
the effect of a coastal tidal current is developed to calculate the
compounded concentration following discharges of desalination
brine from a sea outfall with multiport diffusers. The analytical
solutions are computed graphically to illustrate the merging of
multiple brine plumes in shallow coastal waters, and further
approximation will be made to the maximum shoreline's
concentration to formulate dilution of a multiport diffuser discharge.
Abstract: It is important to give input information without other device in AR system. One solution is using hand for augmented reality application. Many researchers have proposed different solutions for hand interface in augmented reality. Analyze Histogram and connecting factor is can be example for that. Various Direction searching is one of robust way to recognition hand but it takes too much calculating time. And background should be distinguished with skin color. This paper proposes a hand tracking method to control the 3D object in augmented reality using depth device and skin color. Also in this work discussed relationship between several markers, which is based on relationship between camera and marker. One marker used for displaying virtual object and three markers for detecting hand gesture and manipulating the virtual object.
Abstract: Image coding based on clustering provides immediate
access to targeted features of interest in a high quality decoded
image. This approach is useful for intelligent devices, as well as for
multimedia content-based description standards. The result of image
clustering cannot be precise in some positions especially on pixels
with edge information which produce ambiguity among the clusters.
Even with a good enhancement operator based on PDE, the quality of
the decoded image will highly depend on the clustering process. In
this paper, we introduce an ambiguity cluster in image coding to
represent pixels with vagueness properties. The presence of such
cluster allows preserving some details inherent to edges as well for
uncertain pixels. It will also be very useful during the decoding phase
in which an anisotropic diffusion operator, such as Perona-Malik,
enhances the quality of the restored image. This work also offers a
comparative study to demonstrate the effectiveness of a fuzzy
clustering technique in detecting the ambiguity cluster without losing
lot of the essential image information. Several experiments have been
carried out to demonstrate the usefulness of ambiguity concept in
image compression. The coding results and the performance of the
proposed algorithms are discussed in terms of the peak signal-tonoise
ratio and the quantity of ambiguous pixels.
Abstract: This paper presents a genetic algorithm based
approach for solving security constrained optimal power flow
problem (SCOPF) including FACTS devices. The optimal location of
FACTS devices are identified using an index called overload index
and the optimal values are obtained using an enhanced genetic
algorithm. The optimal allocation by the proposed method optimizes
the investment, taking into account its effects on security in terms of
the alleviation of line overloads. The proposed approach has been
tested on IEEE-30 bus system to show the effectiveness of the
proposed algorithm for solving the SCOPF problem.
Abstract: Computed tomography and laminography are heavily investigated in a compressive sensing based image reconstruction framework to reduce the dose to the patients as well as to the radiosensitive devices such as multilayer microelectronic circuit boards. Nowadays researchers are actively working on optimizing the compressive sensing based iterative image reconstruction algorithm to obtain better quality images. However, the effects of the sampled data’s properties on reconstructed the image’s quality, particularly in an insufficient sampled data conditions have not been explored in computed laminography. In this paper, we investigated the effects of two data properties i.e. sampling density and data incoherence on the reconstructed image obtained by conventional computed laminography and a recently proposed method called spherical sinusoidal scanning scheme. We have found that in a compressive sensing based image reconstruction framework, the image quality mainly depends upon the data incoherence when the data is uniformly sampled.
Abstract: The aim of this study is to develop a cost-effective WBGT heat stress monitor which provides precise heat stress measurement. The proposed device employs SHT15 and DS18B20 as a temperature and humidity sensors, respectively, incorporating with ATmega328 microcontroller. The developed heat stress monitor was calibrated and adjusted to that of the standard temperature and humidity sensors in the laboratory. The results of this study illustrated that the mean percentage error and the standard deviation from the measurement of the globe temperature was 2.33 and 2.71 respectively, while 0.94 and 1.02 were those of the dry bulb temperature, 0.79 and 0.48 were of the wet bulb temperature, and 4.46 and 1.60 were of the relative humidity sensor. This device is relatively low-cost and the measurement error is acceptable.
Abstract: Aeration by a plunging water jet is an energetically attractive way to effect oxygen-transfer than conventional oxygenation systems. In the present study, a new type of conical shaped plunging aeration device is fabricated to generate hollow inclined ined plunging jets (jet plunge angle of π/3 ) to investigate its oxygen transfer capacity. The results suggest that the volumetric oxygen-transfer coefficient and oxygen-transfer efficiency of the conical plunging jet aerator are competitive with other types of aeration systems. Relationships of volumetric oxygen-transfer coefficient with jet power per unit volume and jet parameters are also proposed. The suggested relationships predict the volumetric oxygentransfer coefficient within a scatter of ± 15% . Further, the application of Support Vector Machines on the experimental data revealed its utility in the prediction of volumetric oxygen-transfer coefficient and development of conical plunging jet aerators.
Abstract: In contrast to existing methods which do not take into account multiconnectivity in a broad sense of this term, we develop mathematical models and highly effective combination (BIEM and FDM) numerical methods of calculation of stationary and cvazistationary temperature field of a profile part of a blade with convective cooling (from the point of view of realization on PC). The theoretical substantiation of these methods is proved by appropriate theorems. For it, converging quadrature processes have been developed and the estimations of errors in the terms of A.Ziqmound continuity modules have been received. For visualization of profiles are used: the method of the least squares with automatic conjecture, device spline, smooth replenishment and neural nets. Boundary conditions of heat exchange are determined from the solution of the corresponding integral equations and empirical relationships. The reliability of designed methods is proved by calculation and experimental investigations heat and hydraulic characteristics of the gas turbine 1st stage nozzle blade
Abstract: Effect of temperature and light was investigated on a
thin film of organic semiconductor formyl-TIPPCu(II) deposited on a
glass substrate with preliminary evaporated gold electrodes. The
electrical capacitance and resistance of the fabricated device were
evaluated under the effect of temperature and light. The relative
capacitance of the fabricated sensor increased by 4.3 times by rising
temperature from 27 to 1870C, while under illumination up to 25000
lx, the capacitance of the Au/formyl-TIPPCu(II)/Au photo capacitive
sensor increased continuously by 13.2 times as compared to dark
conditions.
Abstract: This paper describes a novel optimized JTAG interface circuit between a JTAG controller and target IC. Being able to access JTAG using only one or two pins, this circuit does not change the original boundary scanning test frequency of target IC. Compared with the traditional JTAG interface which based on IEEE std. 1149.1, this reduced pin technology is more applicability in pin limited devices, and it is easier to control the scale of target IC for the designer.

for remote tele surgery using dual tone multi frequency technology
(DTMF). Tele system with Dual Tone Multiple Frequency has a large
capability in sending and receiving of data in hardware and software.
The robot consists of DC motors for arm movements and it is
controlled manually through a mobile phone through DTMF
Technology. The system enables the surgeon from base station to
send commands through mobile phone to the patient’s robotic system
which includes two robotic arms that translate the input into actual
instrument manipulation. A mobile phone attached to the
microcontroller 8051 which can activate robot through relays. The
Remote robot-assisted tele surgery eliminates geographic constraints
for getting surgical expertise where it is needed and allows an expert
surgeon to teach or proctor the performance of surgical technique by
real-time intervention.
Abstract: The development of the power electronics has allowed
increasing the precision and reliability of the electrical devices, thanks
to the adjustable inverters, as the Pulse Wide Modulation (PWM)
applied to the three level inverters, which is the object of this study.
The authors treat the relation between the law order adopted for a
given system and the oscillations of the electrical and mechanical
parameters of which the tolerance depends on the process with which
they are integrated (paper factory, lifting of the heavy loads,
etc.).Thus, the best choice of the regulation indexes allows us to
achieve stability and safety training without investment (management
of existing equipment). The optimal behavior of any electric device
can be achieved by the minimization of the stored electrical and
mechanical energy.
Abstract: Cloud Computing is an approach that provides computation and storage services on-demand to clients over the network, independent of device and location. In the last few years, cloud computing became a trend in information technology with many companies that transfer their business processes and applications in the cloud. Cloud computing with service oriented architecture has contributed to rapid development of Geographic Information Systems. Open Geospatial Consortium with its standards provides the interfaces for hosted spatial data and GIS functionality to integrated GIS applications. Furthermore, with the enormous processing power, clouds provide efficient environment for data intensive applications that can be performed efficiently, with higher precision, and greater reliability. This paper presents our work on the geospatial data services within the cloud computing environment and its technology. A cloud computing environment with the strengths and weaknesses of the geographic information system will be introduced. The OGC standards that solve our application interoperability are highlighted. Finally, we outline our system architecture with utilities for requesting and invoking our developed data intensive applications as a web service.
Abstract: In this study, a Loop Back Algorithm for component
connected labeling for detecting objects in a digital image is
presented. The approach is using loop back connected component
labeling algorithm that helps the system to distinguish the object
detected according to their label. Deferent than whole window
scanning technique, this technique reduces the searching time for
locating the object by focusing on the suspected object based on
certain features defined. In this study, the approach was also
implemented for a face detection system. Face detection system is
becoming interesting research since there are many devices or
systems that require detecting the face for certain purposes. The input
can be from still image or videos, therefore the sub process of this
system has to be simple, efficient and accurate to give a good result.
Abstract: We developed an effective microfluidic device for photoreactions with low reflectance and good heat conductance. The performance of this microfluidic device was tested by carrying out a photoreactive synthesis of benzopinacol and acetone from benzophenone and 2-propanol. The yield reached 36% with an irradiation time of 469.2 s and was improved by more than 30% when compared to the values obtained by the batch method. Therefore, the microfluidic device was found to be effective for improving the yields of photoreactions.
Abstract: On-board Error Detection and Correction (EDAC)
devices aim to secure data transmitted between the central
processing unit (CPU) of a satellite onboard computer and its local
memory. This paper presents a comparison of the performance of
four low complexity EDAC techniques for application in Random
Access Memories (RAMs) on-board small satellites. The
performance of a newly proposed EDAC architecture is measured
and compared with three different EDAC strategies, using the same
FPGA technology. A statistical analysis of single-event upset (SEU)
and multiple-bit upset (MBU) activity in commercial memories
onboard Alsat-1 is given for a period of 8 years
Abstract: The seismic rehabilitation designs of two reinforced
concrete school buildings, representative of a wide stock of similar
edifices designed under earlier editions of the Italian Technical
Standards, are presented in this paper. The mutual retrofit solution
elaborated for the two buildings consists in the incorporation of a
dissipative bracing system including pressurized fluid viscous springdampers
as passive protective devices. The mechanical parameters,
layouts and locations selected for the constituting elements of the
system; the architectural renovation projects developed to properly
incorporate the structural interventions and improve the appearance
of the buildings; highlights of the installation works already
completed in one of the two structures; and a synthesis of the
performance assessment analyses carried out in original and
rehabilitated conditions, are illustrated. The results of the analyses
show a remarkable enhancement of the seismic response capacities of
both structures. This allows reaching the high performance objectives
postulated in the retrofit designs with much lower costs and
architectural intrusion as compared to traditional rehabilitation
interventions designed for the same objectives.
Abstract: The psychological and physical trauma associated with the loss of a human limb can severely impact on the quality of life of an amputee rendering even the most basic of tasks very difficult. A prosthetic device can be of great benefit to the amputee in the performance of everyday human tasks. This paper outlines a proposed mechanical design of a 12 degree-of-freedom SMA actuated artificial hand. It is proposed that the SMA wires be embedded intrinsically within the hand structure which will allow for significant flexibility for use either as a prosthetic hand solution, or as part of a complete lower arm prosthetic solution. A modular approach is taken in the design facilitating ease of manufacture and assembly, and more importantly, also allows the end user to easily replace SMA wires in the event of failure. A biomimetric approach has been taken during the design process meaning that the artificial hand should replicate that of a human hand as far as is possible with due regard to functional requirements. The proposed design has been exposed to appropriate loading through the use of finite element analysis (FEA) to ensure that it is structurally sound. Theoretical analysis of the mechanical framework was also carried out to establish the limits of the angular displacement and velocity of the finger tip as well finger tip force generation. A combination of various polymers and Titanium, which are suitably lightweight, are proposed for the manufacture of the design.
