Abstract: ZnO+Ga2O3 functionally graded thin films (FGTFs)
were examined for their potential use as Solar cell and organic light
emitting diodes (OLEDs). FGTF transparent conducting oxides (TCO)
were fabricated by combinatorial RF magnetron sputtering. The
composition gradient was controlled up to 10% by changing the
plasma power of the two sputter guns. A Ga2O3+ZnO graded region
was placed on the top layer of ZnO. The FGTFs showed up to 80%
transmittance. Their surface resistances were reduced to < 10% by
increasing the Ga2O3: pure ZnO ratio in the TCO. The FGTFs- work
functions could be controlled within a range of 0.18 eV. The
controlled work function is a very promising technology because it
reduces the contact resistance between the anode and Hall transport
layers of OLED and solar cell devices.
Abstract: In the present work we report a gram negative
bacterial isolate, from soil of a dye industry, with promising
biorefining and bioremediation potential. This isolate (GBS.5) could
utilize carbazole (nitrogen containing polycyclic aromatic
hydrocarbon) as the sole source of nitrogen and carbon and utilize
almost 98% of 3mM carbazole in 100 hours. The specific activity of
our GBS.5 isolate for carbazole degradation at 30°C and pH 7.0 was
found to be 11.36 μmol/min/g dry cell weight as compared to 10.4
μmol/min/g dry cell weight, the highest reported specific activity till
date. The presence of car genes (the genes involved in
denitrogenation of carbazole) was confirmed through PCR
amplification.
Abstract: the work contains the results of complex investigation
related to the evaluation of condition of working blades of gas turbine
engines during fatigue tests by applying the acoustic emission
method. It demonstrates the possibility of estimating the fatigue
damage of blades in the process of factory tests. The acoustic
emission criteria for detecting and testing the kinetics of fatigue crack
distribution were detected. It also shows the high effectiveness of the
method for non-destructive testing of condition of solid and cooled
working blades for high-temperature gas turbine engines.
