Abstract: This study developed a method for teaching
acupuncture manipulation in small groups optimized with the
theory of motor learning. Sixty acupuncture students and their
teacher participated in our research. Motion videos were recorded
of their manipulations using the lifting-thrusting method. These
videos were analyzed using Simi Motion software to acquire the
movement parameters of the thumb tip. The parameter velocity
curves along Y axis was used to generate small teaching groups
clustered by a self-organized map (SOM) and K-means. Ten groups
were generated. All the targeted instruction based on the comparative
results groups as well as the videos of teacher and student was
provided to the members of each group respectively. According to
the theory and research of motor learning, the factors or technologies
such as video instruction, observational learning, external focus and
summary feedback were integrated into this teaching method. Such
efforts were desired to improve and enhance the effectiveness of
current acupuncture teaching methods in limited classroom teaching
time and extracurricular training.
Abstract: The study aims to explore microblog users’ emotion expression and sharing behaviors on the Chinese microblog (Weibo). The first theme of study analyzed whether microblog emotions impact readers’ message sharing behaviors, specifically, how the strength of emotion (positive and negative) in microblog messages facilitate/inhibit readers’ sharing behaviors. The second theme compared the differences among the three types of microblog users (i.e., verified enterprise users, verified individual users and unverified users) in terms of their profiles and microblog behaviors. A total of 7114 microblog messages about 24 hot public events in China were sampled from Sina Weibo. The first study results show that strength of negative emotions that microblog messages carry significantly increase the possibility of the message being shared. The second study results indicate that there are significant differences across the three types of users in terms of their emotion expression and its influence on microblog behaviors.
Abstract: A new data fusion method called joint probability density matrix (JPDM) is proposed, which can associate and fuse measurements from spatially distributed heterogeneous sensors to identify the real target in a surveillance region. Using the probabilistic grids representation, we numerically combine the uncertainty regions of all the measurements in a general framework. The NP-hard multisensor data fusion problem has been converted to a peak picking problem in the grids map. Unlike most of the existing data fusion method, the JPDM method dose not need association processing, and will not lead to combinatorial explosion. Its convergence to the CRLB with a diminishing grid size has been proved. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique.
Abstract: Applying the idea of soft set theory to lattice implication algebras, the novel concept of (implicative) filteristic soft lattice implication algebras which related to (implicative) filter(for short, (IF-)F-soft lattice implication algebras) are introduced. Basic properties of (IF-)F-soft lattice implication algebras are derived. Two kinds of fuzzy filters (i.e.(2, 2 _qk)((2, 2 _ qk))-fuzzy (implicative) filter) of L are introduced, which are generalizations of fuzzy (implicative) filters. Some characterizations for a soft set to be a (IF-)F-soft lattice implication algebra are provided. Analogously, this idea can be used in other types of filteristic lattice implication algebras (such as fantastic (positive implicative) filteristic soft lattice implication algebras).
Abstract: Helical milling operations are used to generate or
enlarge boreholes by means of a milling tool. The bore diameter can be
adjusted through the diameter of the helical path. The kinematics of
helical milling on a three axis machine tool is analysed firstly. The
relationships between processing parameters, cutting tool geometry
characters with machined hole feature are formulated. The feed motion
of the cutting tool has been decomposed to plane circular feed and
axial linear motion. In this paper, the time varying cutting forces acted
on the side cutting edges and end cutting edges of the flat end cylinder
miller is analysed using a discrete method separately. These two
components then are combined to produce the cutting force model
considering the complicated interaction between the cutters and
workpiece. The time varying cutting force model describes the
instantaneous cutting force during processing. This model could be
used to predict cutting force, calculate statics deflection of cutter and
workpiece, and also could be the foundation of dynamics model and
predicting chatter limitation of the helical milling operations.
Abstract: In this paper, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is utilized to characterize a prototype biolistic delivery system, the biomedical device based on the contoured-shock-tube design (CST), with the aim at investigating shocks induced flow instabilities within the contoured shock tube. The shock/interface interactions, the growth of perturbation at an interface between two fluids of different density are interrogated. The key features of the gas dynamics and gas-particle interaction are discussed
