Abstract: The basic aim of our study is to give a possible model for handling uncertain information. This model is worked out in the framework of DATALOG. The concept of multivalued knowledgebase will be defined as a quadruple of any background knowledge; a deduction mechanism; a connecting algorithm, and a function set of the program, which help us to determine the uncertainty levels of the results. At first the concept of fuzzy Datalog will be summarized, then its extensions for intuitionistic- and interval-valued fuzzy logic is given and the concept of bipolar fuzzy Datalog is introduced. Based on these extensions the concept of multivalued knowledge-base will be defined. This knowledge-base can be a possible background of a future agent-model.
Abstract: We present a method for the selection of students
in interdisciplinary studies based on the hybrid averaging
operator. We assume that the available information given in
the problem is uncertain so it is necessary to use interval
numbers. Therefore, we suggest a new type of hybrid
aggregation called uncertain induced generalized hybrid
averaging (UIGHA) operator. It is an aggregation operator
that considers the weighted average (WA) and the ordered
weighted averaging (OWA) operator in the same formulation.
Therefore, we are able to consider the degree of optimism of
the decision maker and grades of importance in the same
approach. By using interval numbers, we are able to represent
the information considering the best and worst possible results
so the decision maker gets a more complete view of the
decision problem. We develop an illustrative example of the
proposed scheme in the selection of students in
interdisciplinary studies. We see that with the use of the
UIGHA operator we get a more complete representation of the
selection problem. Then, the decision maker is able to
consider a wide range of alternatives depending on his
interests. We also show other potential applications that could
be used by using the UIGHA operator in educational problems
about selection of different types of resources such as
students, professors, etc.
Abstract: The paper presents an approach for handling uncertain
information in deductive databases using multivalued logics. Uncertainty
means that database facts may be assigned logical values other
than the conventional ones - true and false. The logical values represent
various degrees of truth, which may be combined and propagated
by applying the database rules. A corresponding multivalued database
semantics is defined. We show that it extends successful conventional
semantics as the well-founded semantics, and has a polynomial time
data complexity.
Abstract: This paper focuses on testing database of existing
information system. At the beginning we describe the basic problems
of implemented databases, such as data redundancy, poor design of
database logical structure or inappropriate data types in columns of
database tables. These problems are often the result of incorrect
understanding of the primary requirements for a database of an
information system. Then we propose an algorithm to compare the
conceptual model created from vague requirements for a database
with a conceptual model reconstructed from implemented database.
An algorithm also suggests steps leading to optimization of
implemented database. The proposed algorithm is verified by an
implemented prototype. The paper also describes a fuzzy system
which works with the vague requirements for a database of an
information system, procedure for creating conceptual from vague
requirements and an algorithm for reconstructing a conceptual model
from implemented database.
Abstract: We consider different types of aggregation operators
such as the heavy ordered weighted averaging (HOWA) operator and
the fuzzy ordered weighted averaging (FOWA) operator. We
introduce a new extension of the OWA operator called the fuzzy
heavy ordered weighted averaging (FHOWA) operator. The main
characteristic of this aggregation operator is that it deals with
uncertain information represented in the form of fuzzy numbers (FN)
in the HOWA operator. We develop the basic concepts of this
operator and study some of its properties. We also develop a wide
range of families of FHOWA operators such as the fuzzy push up
allocation, the fuzzy push down allocation, the fuzzy median
allocation and the fuzzy uniform allocation.
Abstract: In this paper, a new method of information fusion – DSmT (Dezert and Smarandache Theory) is introduced to apply to managing and dealing with the uncertain information from robot map building. Here we build grid map form sonar sensors and laser range finder (LRF). The uncertainty mainly comes from sonar sensors and LRF. Aiming to the uncertainty in static environment, we propose Classic DSm (DSmC) model for sonar sensors and laser range finder, and construct the general basic belief assignment function (gbbaf) respectively. Generally speaking, the evidence sources are unreliable in physical system, so we must consider the discounting theory before we apply DSmT. At last, Pioneer II mobile robot serves as a simulation experimental platform. We build 3D grid map of belief layout, then mainly compare the effect of building map using DSmT and DST. Through this simulation experiment, it proves that DSmT is very successful and valid, especially in dealing with highly conflicting information. In short, this study not only finds a new method for building map under static environment, but also supplies with a theory foundation for us to further apply Hybrid DSmT (DSmH) to dynamic unknown environment and multi-robots- building map together.
Abstract: None of the processing models in the software
development has explained the software systems performance
evaluation and modeling; likewise, there exist uncertainty in the
information systems because of the natural essence of requirements,
and this may cause other challenges in the processing of software
development. By definition an extended version of UML (Fuzzy-
UML), the functional requirements of the software defined
uncertainly would be supported. In this study, the behavioral
description of uncertain information systems by the aid of fuzzy-state
diagram is crucial; moreover, the introduction of behavioral diagrams
role in F-UML is investigated in software performance modeling
process. To get the aim, a fuzzy sub-profile is used.
