Abstract: This purposes of the development of creative instruction model through digital media are to: 1) enable learners to learn from instruction media application; 2) help learners implementing instruction media correctly and appropriately; and 3) facilitate learners to apply technology for searching information and practicing skills to implement technology creatively. The sample group consists of 130 cases of secondary students studying in Bo Kluea School, Bo Kluea Nuea Sub-district, Bo Kluea District, Nan Province. The probability sampling was selected through the simple random sampling and the statistics used in this research are percentage, mean, standard deviation and one group pretest – posttest design. The findings are summarized as follows: The congruence index of instruction media for occupation and technology subjects is appropriate. By comparing between learning achievements before implementing the instruction media and learning achievements after implementing the instruction media, it is found that the posttest achievements are higher than the pretest achievements with statistical significance at the level of .05. For the learning achievements from instruction media implementation, pretest mean is 16.24 while posttest mean is 26.28. Besides, pretest and posttest results are compared and differences of mean are tested, the test results show that the posttest achievements are higher than the pretest achievements with statistical significance at the level of .05. This can be interpreted that the learners achieve better learning progress.
Abstract: Metal Ship and Robotic Car is one of the hands-on activities in the course, the Fundamental of Engineering that can be divided into three parts. The first part, the metal ships, was made by using engineering drawings, physics and mathematics knowledge. The second part is where the students learned how to construct a robotic car and control it using computer programming. In the last part, the students had to combine the workings of these two objects in the final testing. This aim of study was to investigate the effectiveness of hands-on activity by integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) concepts to develop scientific and engineering skills. The results showed that the majority of students felt this hands-on activity lead to an increased confidence level in the integration of STEM. Moreover, 48% of all students engaged well with the STEM concepts. Students could obtain the knowledge of STEM through hands-on activities with the topics science and mathematics, engineering drawing, engineering workshop and computer programming; most students agree and strongly agree with this learning process. This indicated that the hands-on activity: “Metal Ship and Robotic Car” is a useful tool to integrate each aspect of STEM. Furthermore, hands-on activities positively influence a student’s interest which leads to increased learning achievement and also in developing scientific and engineering skills.
Abstract: The purposes of this research were (1) to create a
learning activity for constructivism, (2) study the Mathematical
Analysis courses learning achievement, and (3) study students’
attitude toward the learning activity for constructivism. The samples
in this study were divided into 2 parts including 3 Mathematical
Analysis courses instructors of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University
who provided basic information and attended the seminar and 17
Mathematical Analysis courses students who were studying in the
academic and engaging in the learning activity for constructivism.
The research instruments were lesson plans constructivism,
subjective Mathematical Analysis courses achievement test with
reliability index of 0.8119, and an attitude test concerning the
students’ attitude toward the Mathematical Analysis courses learning
activity for constructivism. The result of the research show that the
efficiency of the Mathematical Analysis courses learning activity for
constructivism is 73.05/72.16, which is more than expected criteria of
70/70. The research additionally find that the average score of
learning achievement of students who engaged in the learning
activities for constructivism are equal to 70% and the students’
attitude toward the learning activity for constructivism are at the
medium level.
Abstract: This paper proposes a novel e-learning model that is
based on a dynamic formative evaluation. On evaluating the existing
format of e-learning, conditions regarding repetitive learning to
achieve mastery, causes issues for learners to lose tension and become
neglectful of learning. The dynamic formative evaluation proposed is
able to supplement limitation of the existing approaches. Since a
repetitive learning method does not provide a perfect feedback, this
paper puts an emphasis on the dynamic formative evaluation that is
able to maximize learning achievement. Through the dynamic
formative evaluation, the instructor is able to refer to the evaluation
result when making an estimation about the learner. To show the flow
chart of learning, based on the dynamic formative evaluation, the
model proves its effectiveness and validity.
Abstract: Keys to high-quality face-to-face education are ensuring flexibility in the way lectures are given, and providing care and responsiveness to learners. This paper describes a face-to-face education support system that is designed to raise the satisfaction of learners and reduce the workload on instructors. This system consists of a lecture adaptation assistance part, which assists instructors in adapting teaching content and strategy, and a Q&A assistance part, which provides learners with answers to their questions. The core component of the former part is a “learning achievement map", which is composed of a Bayesian network (BN). From learners- performance in exercises on relevant past lectures, the lecture adaptation assistance part obtains information required to adapt appropriately the presentation of the next lecture. The core component of the Q&A assistance part is a case base, which accumulates cases consisting of questions expected from learners and answers to them. The Q&A assistance part is a case-based search system equipped with a search index which performs probabilistic inference. A prototype face-to-face education support system has been built, which is intended for the teaching of Java programming, and this approach was evaluated using this system. The expected degree of understanding of each learner for a future lecture was derived from his or her performance in exercises on past lectures, and this expected degree of understanding was used to select one of three adaptation levels. A model for determining the adaptation level most suitable for the individual learner has been identified. An experimental case base was built to examine the search performance of the Q&A assistance part, and it was found that the rate of successfully finding an appropriate case was 56%.
Abstract: This research was aimed to develop and determine the
quality of online learning activities kit as well as to examine the
learning achievement of students and their satisfaction towards the kit
through authentic assessment. The tools in this research contained
online learning activities kit on plant in Thai literature in compliance
with the School Botanical Garden of Plant Genetic Conservation
Project under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal Highness Princess
Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the assessment form, the learning
achievement test, the satisfaction form and the authentic assessment
form. The population consisted of 40 students in the second range of
primary years (Prathomsuksa 4 to 6) at Ban Khao Rak School,
Suratthani Province, Thailand. The research results showed that the
content quality of the developed online learning activities kit as
assessed by the experts was 4.70 on average or at very high level.
The pre-test and post-test comparison was made to examine the
learning achievement and it revealed that the post-test score was
higher than the pre-test score with statistical significance at the .01
level. The satisfaction of the sampling group towards the online
learning activities kit was 4.74 or at the highest level. The authentic
assessment showed an average of 1.69 or at good level. Therefore,
the online learning activities kit on plant in Thai literature in
compliance with the School Botanical Garden of Plant Genetic
Conservation Project under the Royal Initiative of Her Royal
Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn could be used in real
classroom situations.
Abstract: The study entitled “The Construction of Interactive
Computer Multimedia Instruction on Basic Japanese Vocabulary"
was aimed: 1) To construct the interactive computer multimedia
instruction on Basic Japanese Vocabulary, 2) To find out
multimedia-s quality, 3) To examine the student-s satisfaction and 4)
To study the learning achievement in Basic Japanese vocabulary. The
sampling group used in this study was composed of 40 1st year
student in Educational Communications and Technology Department,
Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, King Mongkut-s
University of Technology Thonburi, in the academic year 2553 B.E.
(2010). According to research results, we found that 1). The quality
assessment by 3 mass media experts was at 4.72 on average or at high
level. 2) In terms of contents, the evaluation by 3 experts was at 4.81
on average or at high level. 3) In terms of achievement, there was a
statistical significance between before and after the treatment at the
.05 level. 4) The satisfaction of students towards the interactive
computer multimedia Instruction on “Basic Japanese Vocabulary"
was 4.35 on average, or at high level.
Abstract: The purposes of this research are 1) to study English language learning strategies used by the fourth-year students majoring in English and Business English, 2) to study the English language learning strategies which have an affect on English learning achievement, and 3) to compare the English language learning strategies used by the students majoring in English and Business English. The population and sampling comprise of 139 university students of the Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. Research instruments are language learning strategies questionnaire which was constructed by the researcher and improved on by three experts and the transcripts that show the results of English learning achievement. The questionnaire includes 1) Language Practice Strategy 2)Memory Strategy 3) Communication Strategy 4)Making an Intelligent Guess or Compensation Strategy 5) Self-discipline in Learning Management Strategy 6) Affective Strategy 7)Self-Monitoring Strategy 8) Self-studySkill Strategy. Statistics used in the study are mean, standard deviation, T-test and One Way ANOVA, Pearson product moment correlation coefficient and Regression Analysis. The results of the findings reveal that the English language learning strategies most frequently used by the students are affective strategy, making an intelligent guess or compensation strategy, self-studyskill strategy and self-monitoring strategy respectively. The aspect of making an intelligent guess or compensation strategy had the most significant affect on English learning achievement. It is found that the English language learning strategies mostly used by the Business English major students and moderately used by the English major students. Their language practice strategies uses were significantly different at the 0.05 level and their communication strategies uses were significantly different at the 0.01 level. In addition, it is found that the poor students and the fair ones most frequently used affective strategy while the good ones most frequently used making an intelligent guess or compensation strategy.
