Abstract: Reliable information about tool temperature
distribution is of central importance in metal cutting. In this study,
tool-chip interface temperature was determined in cutting of ST37
steel workpiece by applying HSS as the cutting tool in dry turning.
Two different approaches were implemented for temperature
measuring: an embedded thermocouple (RTD) in to the cutting tool
and infrared (IR) camera. Comparisons are made between
experimental data and results of MSC.SuperForm and FLUENT
software.
An investigation of heat generation in cutting tool was performed
by varying cutting parameters at the stable cutting tool geometry and
results were saved in a computer; then the diagrams of tool
temperature vs. various cutting parameters were obtained. The
experimental results reveal that the main factors of the increasing
cutting temperature are cutting speed (V ), feed rate ( S ) and depth
of cut ( h ), respectively. It was also determined that simultaneously
change in cutting speed and feed rate has the maximum effect on
increasing cutting temperature.
Abstract: Using steelmaking slag as a raw material, aragonite superstructure product had been synthesized via an indirect CO2 mineral sequestration rout. It mainly involved two separate steps, in which the element of calcium is first selectively leached from steelmaking slag by a novel leaching media consisting of organic solvent Tributyl phosphate (TBP), acetic acid, and ultra-purity water, followed by enhanced carbonation in a separate step for aragonite superstructure production as well as efficiency recovery of leaching media. Based on the different leaching medium employed in the steelmaking slag leaching process, two typical products were collected from the enhanced carbonation step. The products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. It reveals that the needle-like aragonite crystals self-organized into aragonite superstructure particles including aragonite microspheres as well as dumbbell-like spherical particles, can be obtained from the steelmaking slag with the purity over 99%.
Abstract: Networked schools have become a feature of
education systems in countries that seek to provide learning
opportunities in schools located beyond major centres of population.
The internet and e-learning have facilitated the development of
virtual educational structures that complement traditional schools,
encouraging collaborative teaching and learning to proceed. In rural
New Zealand and in the Atlantic Canadian province of
Newfoundland and Labrador, e-learning is able to provide new ways
of organizing teaching, learning and the management of educational
opportunities. However, the future of e-teaching and e-learning in
networked schools depends on the development of professional
education programs that prepare teachers for collaborative teaching
and learning environments in which both virtual and traditional face
to face instruction co-exist.
Abstract: this paper presented a survey analysis subjected on
network bandwidth management from published papers referred in
IEEE Explorer database in three years from 2009 to 2011. Network
Bandwidth Management is discussed in today-s issues for computer
engineering applications and systems. Detailed comparison is
presented between published papers to look further in the IP based
network critical research area for network bandwidth management.
Important information such as the network focus area, a few
modeling in the IP Based Network and filtering or scheduling used in
the network applications layer is presented. Many researches on
bandwidth management have been done in the broad network area
but fewer are done in IP Based network specifically at the
applications network layer. A few researches has contributed new
scheme or enhanced modeling but still the issue of bandwidth
management still arise at the applications network layer. This survey
is taken as a basic research towards implementations of network
bandwidth management technique, new framework model and
scheduling scheme or algorithm in an IP Based network which will
focus in a control bandwidth mechanism in prioritizing the network
traffic the applications layer.
Abstract: This paper proposes a declarative language for
knowledge representation (Ibn Rochd), and its environment of
exploitation (DeGSE). This DeGSE system was designed and
developed to facilitate Ibn Rochd writing applications. The system
was tested on several knowledge bases by ascending complexity,
culminating in a system for recognition of a plant or a tree, and
advisors to purchase a car, for pedagogical and academic guidance,
or for bank savings and credit. Finally, the limits of the language and
research perspectives are stated.
Abstract: The company-s ability to draw on a range of external
sources to meet their needs for innovation, has been termed 'open
innovation' (OI). Very few empirical analyses have been conducted
on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to the extent that they
describe and understand the characteristics and implications of this
new paradigm.
The study's objective is to identify and characterize different
modes of OI, (considering innovation process phases and the variety
and breadth of the collaboration), determinants, barriers and
motivations in SMEs. Therefore a survey was carried out among
Italian manufacturing firms and a database of 105 companies was
obtained. With regard to data elaboration, a factorial and cluster
analysis has been conducted and three different OI modes have
emerged: selective low open, unselective open upstream, and mid-
partners integrated open. The different behaviours of the three
clusters in terms of determinants factors, performance, firm-s
technology intensity, barriers and motivations have been analyzed
and discussed.
Abstract: Nowadays use of a new structural bracing system
called 'Knee Bracing System' have taken the specialists attention too
much. On the other hand nonlinear static analysis procedures in
estimate structures performance in earthquake time have taken
attention too much. One of these procedure is modal pushover
analysis (MPA) procedure. The accuracy of MPA procedure for
simple steel moment resisting frame has been verified and considered
in Chintanapakdee and Chopra-s article in 2003. Since the accuracy
of MPA procedure has not verified for semi-rigid steel frames with
knee bracing, we are going to get through with this matter in this
study. For this purpose, the selected structures are four frames with
different heights, 5 to 20 stories, will be designed according to AISC
criteria. Then MPA procedure is used for the same frames with
different rigidity percentiles of connections. The results of seismic
responses are compared with dynamic nonlinear response history
analysis as exact procedure and accuracy of MPA procedure is
evaluated. It seems that MPA procedure accuracy will come down by
reduction of the rigidity percentiles of semi-rigid connections.
Abstract: This paper addresses one of the most important issues
have been considered in hybrid MTS/MTO production environments. To cope with the problem, a mathematical programming model is
applied from a tactical point of view. The model is converted to a fuzzy goal programming model, because a degree of uncertainty is involved in hybrid MTS/MTO context. Finally, application of the
proposed model in an industrial center is reported and the results prove the validity of the model.
Abstract: This research work takes a different approach in
the discussion of urban form impacts on transport planning and
auto dependency. Concentrated density represented by effective
density explains auto dependency better than the conventional
density and it is proved to be a realistic density representative for
the urban transportation analysis. Model analysis reveals that
effective density is influenced by the shopping accessibility
index as well as job density factor. It is also combined with the
job access variable to classify four levels of Transport Activity
Centers (TACs) in Okinawa, Japan. Trip attraction capacity and
levels of the newly classified TACs was found agreeable with the
amount of daily trips attracted to each center. The trip attraction
data set was drawn from a 2007 Okinawa personal trip survey.
This research suggests a planning methodology which guides
logical transport supply routes and concentrated local
development schemes.

Abstract: Adaptive Genetic Algorithms extend the Standard Gas
to use dynamic procedures to apply evolutionary operators such as
crossover, mutation and selection. In this paper, we try to propose a
new adaptive genetic algorithm, which is based on the statistical
information of the population as a guideline to tune its crossover,
selection and mutation operators. This algorithms is called Statistical

benchmark problems.
Abstract: In this research work, investigations are carried out on
Continuous Wave (CW) Nd:YAG laser welding system after
preliminary experimentation to understand the influencing parameters
associated with laser welding of AISI 304. The experimental
procedure involves a series of laser welding trials on AISI 304
stainless steel sheets with various combinations of process parameters
like beam power, beam incident angle and beam incident angle. An
industrial 2 kW CW Nd:YAG laser system, available at Welding
Research Institute (WRI), BHEL Tiruchirappalli, is used for
conducting the welding trials for this research. After proper tuning of
laser beam, laser welding experiments are conducted on AISI 304
grade sheets to evaluate the influence of various input parameters on
weld bead geometry i.e. bead width (BW) and depth of penetration
(DOP). From the laser welding results, it is noticed that the beam
power and welding speed are the two influencing parameters on
depth and width of the bead. Three dimensional finite element
simulation of high density heat source have been performed for laser
welding technique using finite element code ANSYS for predicting
the temperature profile of laser beam heat source on AISI 304
stainless steel sheets. The temperature dependent material properties
for AISI 304 stainless steel are taken into account in the simulation,
which has a great influence in computing the temperature profiles.
The latent heat of fusion is considered by the thermal enthalpy of
material for calculation of phase transition problem. A Gaussian
distribution of heat flux using a moving heat source with a conical
shape is used for analyzing the temperature profiles. Experimental
and simulated values for weld bead profiles are analyzed for stainless
steel material for different beam power, welding speed and beam
incident angle. The results obtained from the simulation are
compared with those from the experimental data and it is observed
that the results of numerical analysis (FEM) are in good agreement
with experimental results, with an overall percentage of error
estimated to be within ±6%.
Abstract: This paper describes an efficient hardware implementation of a new technique for interfacing the data exchange between the microprocessor-based systems and the external devices. This technique, based on the use of software/hardware system and a reduced physical address, enlarges the interfacing capacity of the microprocessor-based systems, uses the Direct Memory Access (DMA) to increases the frequency of the new bus, and improves the speed of data exchange. While using this architecture in microprocessor-based system or in computer, the input of the hardware part of our system will be connected to the bus system, and the output, which is a new bus, will be connected to an external device. The new bus is composed of a data bus, a control bus and an address bus. A Xilinx Integrated Software Environment (ISE) 7.1i has been used for the programmable logic implementation.
Abstract: Data mining (DM) is the process of finding and extracting frequent patterns that can describe the data, or predict unknown or future values. These goals are achieved by using various learning algorithms. Each algorithm may produce a mining result completely different from the others. Some algorithms may find millions of patterns. It is thus the difficult job for data analysts to select appropriate models and interpret the discovered knowledge. In this paper, we describe a framework of an intelligent and complete data mining system called SUT-Miner. Our system is comprised of a full complement of major DM algorithms, pre-DM and post-DM functionalities. It is the post-DM packages that ease the DM deployment for business intelligence applications.
Abstract: Biomass is becoming a large renewable resource for
power generation; it is involved in higher frequency in
environmentally clean processes, and even it is used for biofuels
preparation. On the other hand, hydrogen – other energy source – can
be produced in a variety of methods including gasification of
biomass. In this study, the production of hydrogen by gasification of
biomass waste is examined. This work explores the production of a
gaseous mixture with high power potential from Amazonas´ specie
known as copoazu, using a counter-flow fixed-bed bioreactor.
Abstract: In this paper the development of a heat exchanger as a
pilot plant for educational purpose is discussed and the use of neural
network for controlling the process is being presented. The aim of the
study is to highlight the need of a specific Pseudo Random Binary
Sequence (PRBS) to excite a process under control. As the neural
network is a data driven technique, the method for data generation
plays an important role. In light of this a careful experimentation
procedure for data generation was crucial task. Heat exchange is a
complex process, which has a capacity and a time lag as process
elements. The proposed system is a typical pipe-in- pipe type heat
exchanger. The complexity of the system demands careful selection,
proper installation and commissioning. The temperature, flow, and
pressure sensors play a vital role in the control performance. The
final control element used is a pneumatically operated control valve.
While carrying out the experimentation on heat exchanger a welldrafted
procedure is followed giving utmost attention towards safety
of the system. The results obtained are encouraging and revealing
the fact that if the process details are known completely as far as
process parameters are concerned and utilities are well stabilized then
feedback systems are suitable, whereas neural network control
paradigm is useful for the processes with nonlinearity and less
knowledge about process. The implementation of NN control
reinforces the concepts of process control and NN control paradigm.
The result also underlined the importance of excitation signal
typically for that process. Data acquisition, processing, and
presentation in a typical format are the most important parameters
while validating the results.
Abstract: There are four challenges of sustainable development
and in corporate level sustainability management-s role is to answer
for ecological sustainability challenge, social sustainability challenge,
economic sustainability challenges to environment and social
management and integration challenge of corporate sustainable
challenges by the help of different concepts, methods, instruments,
which are in the toolbox of sustainability management. These
instruments, concepts have different relevance in these challenges,
and according to different literatures environmental management is
outside of social and integration challenge. Main aim of this paper is
to represent the answer for the question that: is it true that social and
integration point of view is outside of the concept environmental
accounting? Using literature review and primer research at the end of
the paper the answer will be confirmed.
