Abstract: Power dissipation due to leakage current in the digital circuits is a biggest factor which is considered specially while designing nanoscale circuits. This paper is exploring the ideas of reducing leakage current in static CMOS circuits by stacking the transistors in increasing numbers. Clearly it means that the stacking of OFF transistors in large numbers result a significant reduction in power dissipation. Increase in source voltage of NMOS transistor minimizes the leakage current. Thus stacking technique makes circuit with minimum power dissipation losses due to leakage current. Also some of digital circuits such as full adder, D flip flop and 6T SRAM have been simulated in this paper, with the application of reduction technique on ‘cadence virtuoso tool’ using specter at 45nm technology with supply voltage 0.7V.
Abstract: Operating a device at high power and high frequency
is a major problem because wall losses greatly reduce the efficiency
of the device. In the present communication, authors analytically
analyzed the dependence of ohmic/RF efficiency, the fraction of
output power with respect to the total power generated, of gyrotron
cavity structure on the conductivity of copper for the second
harmonic TE0,6 mode. This study shows a rapid fall in the RF
efficiency as the quality (conductivity) of copper degrades. Starting
with an RF efficiency near 40% at the conductivity of ideal copper
(5.8 x 107 S/m), the RF efficiency decreases (upto 8%) as the copper
quality degrades. Assuming conductivity half that of ideal copper the
RF efficiency as a function of diffractive quality factor, Qdiff, has
been studied. Here the RF efficiency decreases rapidly with
increasing diffractive Q. Ohmic wall losses as a function of
frequency for 460 GHz gyrotron cavity excited in TE0,6 mode has
also been analyzed. For 460 GHz cavity, the extracted power is
reduced to 32% of the generated power due to ohmic losses in the
walls of the cavity.
Abstract: A new class of fuzzy closed sets, namely fuzzy weakly closed set in a fuzzy topological space is introduced and it is established that this class of fuzzy closed sets lies between fuzzy closed sets and fuzzy generalized closed sets. Alongwith the study of fundamental results of such closed sets, we define and characterize fuzzy weakly compact space and fuzzy weakly closed space.
Abstract: Changing in consumers lifestyles and food
consumption patterns provide a great opportunity in developing the
functional food sector in Malaysia. There is only a little knowledge
about whether Malaysian consumers are aware of functional food and
if so what image consumers have of this product. The objective of
this research is to determine the extent to which selected socioeconomic
characteristics and attitudes influence consumers-
awareness of functional food. A survey was conducted in the Klang
Valley, Malaysia where 439 respondents were interviewed using a
structured questionnaire. The result shows that most respondents
have a positive attitude towards functional food. For the binary
logistic estimation, the results indicate that age, income and other
factors such as concern about food safety, subscribing to cooking or
health magazines, being a vegetarian and consumers who have been
involved in a food production company significantly influence
Malaysian consumers- awareness towards functional food.
Abstract: This paper presents the stabilization potential of Class
F pond ash (PA) from a coal fired thermal power station on tropical
peat soil. Peat or highly organic soils are well known for their high
compressibility, natural moisture content, low shear strength and
long-term settlement. This study investigates the effect of different
amount (i.e., 5, 10, 15 and 20%) of PA on peat soil, collected from
Sarawak, Malaysia, mainly compaction and unconfined compressive
strength (UCS) properties. The amounts of PA added to the peat soil
sample as percentage of the dry peat soil mass. With the increase in
PA content, the maximum dry density (MDD) of peat soil increases,
while the optimum moisture content (OMC) decreases. The UCS
value of the peat soils increases significantly with the increase of PA
content and also with curing periods. This improvement on
compressive strength of tropical peat soils indicates that PA has the
potential to be used as a stabilizer for tropical peat soil. Also, the use
of PA in soil stabilization helps in reducing the pond volume and
achieving environment friendly as well as a sustainable development
of natural resources.
Abstract: In this paper, the effects of radiation, chemical
reaction and double dispersion on mixed convection heat and mass
transfer along a semi vertical plate are considered. The plate is
embedded in a Newtonian fluid saturated non - Darcy (Forchheimer
flow model) porous medium. The Forchheimer extension and first
order chemical reaction are considered in the flow equations. The
governing sets of partial differential equations are nondimensionalized
and reduced to a set of ordinary differential
equations which are then solved numerically by Fourth order Runge–
Kutta method. Numerical results for the detail of the velocity,
temperature, and concentration profiles as well as heat transfer rates
(Nusselt number) and mass transfer rates (Sherwood number) against
various parameters are presented in graphs. The obtained results are
checked against previously published work for special cases of the
problem and are found to be in good agreement.
Abstract: In this paper a new concept of partial complement of a graph G is introduced and using the same a new graph parameter, called completion number of a graph G, denoted by c(G) is defined. Some basic properties of graph parameter, completion number, are studied and upperbounds for completion number of classes of graphs are obtained , the paper includes the characterization also.
Abstract: Scheduling of diversified service requests in
distributed computing is a critical design issue. Cloud is a type of
parallel and distributed system consisting of a collection of
interconnected and virtual computers. It is not only the clusters and
grid but also it comprises of next generation data centers. The paper
proposes an initial heuristic algorithm to apply modified ant colony
optimization approach for the diversified service allocation and
scheduling mechanism in cloud paradigm. The proposed optimization
method is aimed to minimize the scheduling throughput to service all
the diversified requests according to the different resource allocator
available under cloud computing environment.
Abstract: This paper presents comparative emission study of
newly introduced gasoline/LPG bifuel automotive engine in Indian
market. Emissions were tested as per LPG-Bharat stage III driving
cycle. Emission tests were carried out for urban cycle and extra urban
cycle. Total time for urban and extra urban cycle was 1180 sec.
Engine was run in LPG mode by using conversion system. Emissions
were tested as per standard procedure and were compared. Corrected
emissions were computed by deducting ambient reading from sample
reading. Paper describes detail emission test procedure and results
obtained. CO emissions were in the range of38.9 to 111.3 ppm. HC
emissions were in the range of 18.2 to 62.6 ppm. Nox emissions were
08 to 3.9 ppm and CO2 emissions were from 6719.2 to 8051 ppm.
Paper throws light on emission results of LPG vehicles recently
introduced in Indian automobile market. Objectives of this
experimental study were to measure emissions of engines in gasoline
& LPG mode and compare them.
Abstract: Solution for the complete removal of carbon
monoxide from the exhaust gases still poses a challenge to the
researchers and this problem is still under development. Modeling for
reduction of carbon monoxide is carried out using heterogeneous
reaction using low cost non-noble metal based catalysts for the
purpose of controlling emissions released to the atmosphere. A
simple one-dimensional model was developed for the monolith using
hopcalite catalyst. The converter is assumed to be an adiabatic
monolith operating under warm-up conditions. The effect of inlet gas
temperatures and catalyst loading on carbon monoxide reduction
during cold start period in the converter is analysed.
