Abstract: Two earliness cotton genotypes I and II, which had been developed by hybridization and backcross methods between sindise-80 as an early maturing gene parent and two other lines i.e. Red leaf and Bulgare-557 as a second parent, are subjected to different environmental conditions. The early maturing genotypes with coded names of I and II were compared with four native cotton cultivars in randomized complete block design (RCBD) with four replications in three ecological regions of Iran from 2016-2017. Two early maturing genotypes along with four native cultivars viz. Varamin, Oltan, Sahel and Arya were planted in Agricultural Research Station of Varamin, Moghan and Kashmar for evaluation. Earliness data were collected for six treatments during two years in the three regions except missing data for the second year of Kashmar. Therefore, missed data were estimated and imputed. For testing the homogeneity of error variances, each experiment at a given location or year is analyzed separately using Hartley and Bartlett’s Chi-square tests and both tests confirmed homogeneity of variance. Combined analysis of variance showed that genotypes I and II were superior in Varamin, Moghan and Kashmar regions. Earliness means and their interaction effects were compared with Duncan’s multiple range tests. Finally combined analysis of variance showed that genotypes I and II were superior in Varamin, Moghan and Kashmar regions. Abstract: This paper presents a virtual active power filter (VAPF) using vehicle to grid (V2G) technology to maintain power quality requirements. The optimal discrete operation of the power converter of electric vehicle (EV) is based on recognizing desired switching states using the model predictive control (MPC) algorithm. A fast dynamic response, lower total harmonic distortion (THD) and good reference tracking performance are realized through the presented control strategy. The simulation results using MATLAB/Simulink validate the effectiveness of the scheme in improving power quality as well as good dynamic response in power transferring capability.
Abstract: Reduction of energy consumption in built
infrastructure, through the installation of energy-efficient
technologies, is a major approach to achieving sustainability. In
practice, the viability of energy efficiency projects strongly depends
on the cost reimbursement and profitability. These projects are
subject to failure if the actual cost savings do not reimburse the
project cost promptly. In such cases, refinancing could be a solution
to benefit from the long-term returns of the project, if implemented
wisely. However, very little is still known about the effect of
refinancing options on financial performance of energy efficiency
projects. In order to fill this gap, the present study investigates the
financial behavior of energy efficiency projects with focus on
refinancing options, such as Leveraged Loans. A System Dynamics
(SD) model is introduced, and the model application is presented
using an actual case-study data. The case study results indicate that
while high-interest start-ups make using Leveraged Loan inevitable,
refinancing can rescue the project and bring about profitability. This
paper also presents some managerial implications of refinancing
energy efficiency projects based on the case-study analysis. Results
of this study help to implement financially viable energy efficiency
projects so that the community could benefit from their
environmental advantages widely.
Abstract: Today’s modern interconnected power system is
highly complex in nature. In this, one of the most important
requirements during the operation of the electric power system is the
reliability and security. Power and frequency oscillation damping
mechanism improve the reliability. Because of power system
stabilizer (PSS) low speed response against of major fault such as
three phase short circuit, FACTs devise that can control the network
condition in very fast time, are becoming popular. But FACTs
capability can be seen in a major fault present when nonlinear models
of FACTs devise and power system equipment are applied. To realize
this aim, the model of multi-machine power system with FACTs
controller is developed in MATLAB/SIMULINK using Sim Power
System (SPS) blockiest. Among the FACTs device, Static
synchronous series compensator (SSSC) due to high speed changes
its reactance characteristic inductive to capacitive, is effective power
flow controller. Tuning process of controller parameter can be
performed using different method. But Genetic Algorithm (GA)
ability tends to use it in controller parameter tuning process. In this
paper firstly POD controller is used to power oscillation damping.
But in this station, frequency oscillation dos not has proper damping
situation. So FOD controller that is tuned using GA is using that
cause to damp out frequency oscillation properly and power
oscillation damping has suitable situation.
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the religious behavior of students in high school and universality in Lamerd , a town in the south of Iran, with respect to increase in their level of education and age. The participants were 450 high school and university students in all levels from first year of junior high school
to the senior university students who were chosen through multistage
cluster sampling method and their religious behavior was
studied. Through the revised questionnaire by Nezar Alany from the University of Bahrain (r = 0/797), the religious behavior of the subjects were analyzed. Results showed that students in high school
in religious behavior were superior to the students of university (003/0>p) and there was a decline of religious behavior in junior high school third year students to second students of the same school
(042/0>p). More important is that the decrease in religious behavior was associated with increase in educational levels (017/0>p) and age (043/0>p).
Abstract: The present study investigated the relationship
between personality characteristics of drivers and the number and
amount of fines they have in a year .This study was carried out on
120 male taxi drivers that worked at least seven hours in a day in
Lamerd - a city in the south of IRAN. Subjects were chosen
voluntarily among those available. Predictive variables were the NEO
–five great personality factors (1. conscientiousness 2. Openness to
Experience 3.Neuroticism4 .Extraversion 5.Agreeableness )
thecriterion variables were the number and amount of fines the
drivers have had the last three years. the result of regression analysis
showed that conscientiousness factor was able to negatively predict
the number and amount of financial fines the drivers had during the
last three years. The openness factor positively predicted the number
of fines they had in last 3 years and the amount of financial fines
during the last year. The extraversion factor both meaningfully and
positively could predict only the amount of financial fines they had
during the last year. Increasing age was associated with decreasing
driving offenses as well as financial loss.The findings can be useful
in recognizing the high-risk drivers and leading them to counseling
centers .They can also be used to inform the drivers about their
personality and it’s relation with their accident rate. Such criteria
would be of great importance in employing drivers in different places
such as companies, offices etc…
