Abstract: In this paper, we consider the global exponential stability of the equilibrium point of Hopfield neural networks with delays and impulsive perturbation. Some new exponential stability criteria of the system are derived by using the Lyapunov functional method and the linear matrix inequality approach for estimating the upper bound of the derivative of Lyapunov functional. Finally, we illustrate two numerical examples showing the effectiveness of our theoretical results.
Abstract: The evaluation of residual reliability of large sized
parallel computer interconnection systems is not practicable with
the existing methods. Under such conditions, one must go for
approximation techniques which provide the upper bound and lower
bound on this reliability. In this context, a new approximation method
for providing bounds on residual reliability is proposed here. The
proposed method is well supported by two algorithms for simulation
purpose. The bounds on residual reliability of three different categories
of interconnection topologies are efficiently found by using
the proposed method
Abstract: The limit load carrying capacity of functionally
graded materials (FGM) circular plates subjected to an arbitrary
rotationally symmetric loading has been computed. It is provided that
the plate material behaves rigid perfectly plastic and obeys either the
Square or the Tresca yield criterion. To this end the upper and lower
bound principles of limit analysis are employed to determine the
exact value for the limiting load. The correctness of the result are
verified and finally limiting loads for two examples namely; through
radius and through thickness FGM circular plates with simply
supported edges are calculated, respectively and moreover, the values
of critical loading factor are determined.
Abstract: In this paper, the notion of Hyperbolic Klingenberg
plane is introduced via a set of axioms like as Affine Klingenberg
planes and Projective Klingenberg planes. Models of such planes are
constructed by deleting a certain number m of equivalence classes
of lines from a Projective Klingenberg plane. In the finite case, an
upper bound for m is established and some combinatoric properties
are investigated.
Abstract: In this paper, Selective Adaptive Parallel Interference Cancellation (SA-PIC) technique is presented for Multicarrier Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (MC DS-CDMA) scheme. The motivation of using SA-PIC is that it gives high performance and at the same time, reduces the computational complexity required to perform interference cancellation. An upper bound expression of the bit error rate (BER) for the SA-PIC under Rayleigh fading channel condition is derived. Moreover, the implementation complexities for SA-PIC and Adaptive Parallel Interference Cancellation (APIC) are discussed and compared. The performance of SA-PIC is investigated analytically and validated via computer simulations.
Abstract: Bioinformatics and computational biology involve
the use of techniques including applied mathematics,
informatics, statistics, computer science, artificial intelligence,
chemistry, and biochemistry to solve biological problems
usually on the molecular level. Research in computational
biology often overlaps with systems biology. Major research
efforts in the field include sequence alignment, gene finding,
genome assembly, protein structure alignment, protein structure
prediction, prediction of gene expression and proteinprotein
interactions, and the modeling of evolution. Various
global rearrangements of permutations, such as reversals and
transpositions, have recently become of interest because of their
applications in computational molecular biology. A reversal is
an operation that reverses the order of a substring of a permutation.
A transposition is an operation that swaps two adjacent
substrings of a permutation. The problem of determining the
smallest number of reversals required to transform a given
permutation into the identity permutation is called sorting by
reversals. Similar problems can be defined for transpositions
and other global rearrangements. In this work we perform a
study about some genome rearrangement primitives. We show
how a genome is modelled by a permutation, introduce some
of the existing primitives and the lower and upper bounds
on them. We then provide a comparison of the introduced
primitives.
Abstract: In this paper, we consider the uniform asymptotic stability, global asymptotic stability and global exponential stability of the equilibrium point of discrete Hopfield neural networks with delays. Some new stability criteria for system are derived by using the Lyapunov functional method and the linear matrix inequality approach, for estimating the upper bound of Lyapunov functional derivative.
Abstract: Recently, content delivery services have grown rapidly
over the Internet. For ASPs (Application Service Provider) providing
content delivery services, P2P architecture is beneficial to reduce
outgoing traffic from content servers. On the other hand, ISPs are
suffering from the increase in P2P traffic. The P2P traffic is
unnecessarily redundant because the same content or the same
fractions of content are transferred through an inter-ISP link several
times. Subscriber ISPs have to pay a transit fee to upstream ISPs based
on the volume of inter-ISP traffic. In order to solve such problems,
several works have been done for the purpose of P2P traffic reduction.
However, these existing works cannot control the traffic volume of a
certain link. In order to solve such an ISP-s operational requirement,
we propose a method to control traffic volume for a link within a
preconfigured upper bound value. We evaluated that the proposed
method works well by conducting a simulation on a 1,000-user scale.
We confirm that the traffic volume could be controlled at a lower level
than the upper bound for all evaluated conditions. Moreover, our
method could control the traffic volume at 98.95% link usage against
the target value.
Abstract: The Cluster Dimension of a network is defined as, which is the minimum cardinality of a subset S of the set of nodes having the property that for any two distinct nodes x and y, there exist the node Si, s2 (need not be distinct) in S such that ld(x,s1) — d(y, s1)1 > 1 and d(x,s2) < d(x,$) for all s E S — {s2}. In this paper, strictly non overlap¬ping clusters are constructed. The concept of LandMarks for Unique Addressing and Clustering (LMUAC) routing scheme is developed. With the help of LMUAC routing scheme, It is shown that path length (upper bound)PLN,d < PLD, Maximum memory space requirement for the networkMSLmuAc(Az) < MSEmuAc < MSH3L < MSric and Maximum Link utilization factor MLLMUAC(i=3) < MLLMUAC(z03) < M Lc
Abstract: The performance of schedules released to a shop floor may greatly be affected by unexpected disruptions. Thus, this paper considers the flexible job shop scheduling problem when processing times of some operations are represented by a uniform distribution with given lower and upper bounds. The objective is to find a predictive schedule that can deal with this uncertainty. The paper compares two genetic approaches to obtain predictive schedule. To determine the performance of the predictive schedules obtained by both approaches, an experimental study is conducted on a number of benchmark problems.
