Abstract: The prediction of Software quality during development life cycle of software project helps the development organization to make efficient use of available resource to produce the product of highest quality. “Whether a module is faulty or not" approach can be used to predict quality of a software module. There are numbers of software quality prediction models described in the literature based upon genetic algorithms, artificial neural network and other data mining algorithms. One of the promising aspects for quality prediction is based on clustering techniques. Most quality prediction models that are based on clustering techniques make use of K-means, Mixture-of-Guassians, Self-Organizing Map, Neural Gas and fuzzy K-means algorithm for prediction. In all these techniques a predefined structure is required that is number of neurons or clusters should be known before we start clustering process. But in case of Growing Neural Gas there is no need of predetermining the quantity of neurons and the topology of the structure to be used and it starts with a minimal neurons structure that is incremented during training until it reaches a maximum number user defined limits for clusters. Hence, in this work we have used Growing Neural Gas as underlying cluster algorithm that produces the initial set of labeled cluster from training data set and thereafter this set of clusters is used to predict the quality of test data set of software modules. The best testing results shows 80% accuracy in evaluating the quality of software modules. Hence, the proposed technique can be used by programmers in evaluating the quality of modules during software development.
Abstract: The energy consumption of home femto base stations
(BSs) can be reduced, by turning off the Wi-Fi radio interface when
there is no mobile station (MS) under the coverage of the BSs or
MSs do not transmit or receive data packet for long time, especially
in late night. In the energy-efficient home femto BSs, if MSs have
any data packet to transmit and the Wi-Fi radio interface in off
state, MSs wake up the Wi-Fi radio interface of home femto BSs
by using additional low power radio interface. In this paper, the
performance of the energy-efficient home femto BSs from the aspect
of energy consumption and cumulative average delay, and show the
effect of various parameters on energy consumption and cumulative
average delay. From the results, the tradeoff relationship between
energy consumption and cumulative average delay is shown and thus,
appropriate operation should be needed to balance the tradeoff.
Abstract: This paper presents a new approach for busbar protection with stable operation of current transformer during saturation, using fuzzy neuro and symmetrical components theory. This technique uses symmetrical components of current signals to learn the hidden relationship existing in the input patterns. Simulation studies are preformed and the influence of changing system parameters such as inception fault and source impedance is studied. Details of the design procedure and the results of performance studies with the proposed relay are given in the paper. An analysis of the performance of the proposed technique during ct saturation conditions is presented. The performance of the technique was investigated for a variety of operating conditions and for several busbar configurations. Data generated by EMTDC simulations of model power systems were used in the investigations. The results indicate that the proposed technique is stable during ct saturation conditions.
Abstract: This paper discusses a discrete event simulation model
for the availability analysis of weapon systems. This model
incorporates missions, operational tasks and system reliability
structures to analyze the availability of a weapon system. The
proposed simulation model consists of 5 modules: Simulation Engine,
Maintenance Organizations, System, its Mission Profile and RBD
which are based on missions and operational tasks. Simulation Engine
executes three kinds of discrete events in chronological order. The
events are mission events generated by Mission Profile, failure events
generated by System, and maintenance events executed by
Maintenance Organization. Finally, this paper shows the case study of
a system's availability analysis and mission reliability using the
simulation model.
Abstract: By employing BS (Base Station) cooperation we can
increase substantially the spectral efficiency and capacity of cellular
systems. The signals received at each BS are sent to a central unit that
performs the separation of the different MT (Mobile Terminal) using
the same physical channel. However, we need accurate sampling and
quantization of those signals so as to reduce the backhaul
communication requirements.
In this paper we consider the optimization of the quantizers for BS
cooperation systems. Four different quantizer types are analyzed and
optimized to allow better SQNR (Signal-to-Quantization Noise
Ratio) and BER (Bit Error Rate) performance.
Abstract: In projects like waterpower, transportation and
mining, etc., proving up the rock-mass structure and hidden tectonic
to estimate the geological body-s activity is very important.
Integrating the seismic results, drilling and trenching data,
CSAMT method was carried out at a planning dame site in southwest
China to evaluate the stability of a deformation. 2D and imitated 3D
inversion resistivity results of CSAMT method were analyzed. The
results indicated that CSAMT was an effective method for defining
an outline of deformation body to several hundred meters deep; the
Lung Pan Deformation was stable in natural conditions; but uncertain
after the future reservoir was impounded.
This research presents a good case study of the fine surveying and
research on complex geological structure and hidden tectonic in
engineering project.
Abstract: This paper presents a unified approach based graph
theory and system theory postulates for the modeling and analysis
of Simple open cycle Gas turbine system. In the present paper, the
simple open cycle gas turbine system has been modeled up to its subsystem
level and system variables have been identified to develop the
process subgraphs. The theorems and algorithms of the graph theory
have been used to represent behavioural properties of the system like
rate of heat and work transfers rates, pressure drops and temperature
drops in the involved processes of the system. The processes have
been represented as edges of the process subgraphs and their limits
as the vertices of the process subgraphs. The system across variables
and through variables has been used to develop terminal equations of
the process subgraphs of the system. The set of equations developed
for vertices and edges of network graph are used to solve the system
for its process variables.
