Abstract: In this paper an alternative analysis in the time
domain is described and the results of the interpolation process are
presented by means of functions that are based on the rule of
conditional mathematical expectation and the covariance function. A
comparison between the interpolation error caused by low order
filters and the classic sinc(t) truncated function is also presented.
When fewer samples are used, low-order filters have less error. If the
number of samples increases, the sinc(t) type functions are a better
alternative. Generally speaking there is an optimal filter for each
input signal which depends on the filter length and covariance
function of the signal. A novel scheme of work for adaptive
interpolation filters is also presented.
Abstract: In this paper, we consider the analysis of the
acquisition process for a hybrid double-dwell system with antenna
diversity for DS-CDMA (direct sequence-code division multiple
access) using an adaptive threshold. Acquisition systems with a fixed
threshold value are unable to adapt to fast varying mobile
communications environments and may result in a high false alarm
rate, and/or low detection probability. Therefore, we propose an
adaptively varying threshold scheme through the use of a cellaveraging
constant false alarm rate (CA-CFAR) algorithm, which is
well known in the field of radar detection. We derive exact
expressions for the probabilities of detection and false alarm in
Rayleigh fading channels. The mean acquisition time of the system
under consideration is also derived. The performance of the system is
analyzed and compared to that of a hybrid single dwell system.
Abstract: People have always needed to believe in some
supernatural power, which could explain nature phenomena.
Different kinds of religions like Christianity, Hinduism, Islam,
Buddhism have thought believers in all world, how to behave
themselves. We think the most important role of religion in modern
society most important role of religion in modern society is safety of
the People. World and traditional religion played a prominent role in
the socio-cultural progress, and in the development of man as a
spiritual being. At the heart of religious morals the belief in god and
responsibility before it lies and specifies religious and ethical values
and categories . The religion is based on ethical standards historically
developed by society, requirements and concepts, but it puts all
social and moral relations of the person in dependence on religious
values. For everything that the believer makes on a debt or a duty, he
bears moral responsibility before conscience, people and god. The
concept of value of religious morals takes the central place because
the religion from all forms of public consciousness most values is
painted as it is urged to answer vital questions. Any religion not only
considers questions of creation of the world, sense of human
existence, relationship of god and the person, but also offers the
ethical concept, develops rules of behavior of people. The religion a
long time dominated in the history of culture, and during this time
created a set of cultural and material values. The identity of Kazakh
culture can be defined as a Cultural identity traditional ,national
identity and the identity values developed by Kazakh people in
process of cultural-historical development, promoting formation of
Kazakh culture identity on public consciousness. Identity is the
historical process but always the tradition exists in it as a component
of stability, as a component of self that what this identity formed .
Abstract: In this paper, the application of thermal spray
coatings in high speed shafts by a revolution up to 23000 RPM
has been studied. Gas compressor shafts are worn in contact
zone with journal therefore will be undersized. Wear
mechanisms of compressor shaft were identified. The
predominant wear mechanism is abrasion wear. The worn
surface was coated by hard WC-Co cermets using high
velocity oxy fuel (HVOF) after preparation. The shafts were in
satisfactory service in 8000h period. The metallurgical and
Tribological studies has been made on the worn and coated
shaft using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy
(SEM) and X-ray diffraction.
Abstract: This paper presents an economic game for sybil
detection in a distributed computing environment. Cost parameters
reflecting impacts of different sybil attacks are introduced in the sybil
detection game. The optimal strategies for this game in which both
sybil and non-sybil identities are expected to participate are devised.
A cost sharing economic mechanism called Discriminatory
Rewarding Mechanism for Sybil Detection is proposed based on this
game. A detective accepts a security deposit from each active agent,
negotiates with the agents and offers rewards to the sybils if the latter
disclose their identity. The basic objective of the detective is to
determine the optimum reward amount for each sybil which will
encourage the maximum possible number of sybils to reveal
themselves. Maintaining privacy is an important issue for the
mechanism since the participants involved in the negotiation are
generally reluctant to share their private information. The mechanism
has been applied to Tor by introducing a reputation scoring function.
Abstract: Stable bacterial polymorphism on a single limiting resource may appear if between the evolved strains metabolic interactions take place that allow the exchange of essential nutrients [8]. Towards an attempt to predict the possible outcome of longrunning evolution experiments, a network based on the metabolic capabilities of homogeneous populations of every single gene knockout strain (nodes) of the bacterium E. coli is reconstructed. Potential metabolic interactions (edges) are allowed only between strains of different metabolic capabilities. Bacterial communities are determined by finding cliques in this network. Growth of the emerged hypothetical bacterial communities is simulated by extending the metabolic flux balance analysis model of Varma et al [2] to embody heterogeneous cell population growth in a mutual environment. Results from aerobic growth on 10 different carbon sources are presented. The upper bounds of the diversity that can emerge from single-cloned populations of E. coli such as the number of strains that appears to metabolically differ from most strains (highly connected nodes), the maximum clique size as well as the number of all the possible communities are determined. Certain single gene deletions are identified to consistently participate in our hypothetical bacterial communities under most environmental conditions implying a pattern of growth-condition- invariant strains with similar metabolic effects. Moreover, evaluation of all the hypothetical bacterial communities under growth on pyruvate reveals heterogeneous populations that can exhibit superior growth performance when compared to the performance of the homogeneous wild-type population.
Abstract: Pressure waves and Water Hammer occur in a
pumping system when valves are closed or opened suddenly or in
the case of sudden failure of pumps. Determination of maximum
water hammer is considered one of the most important technical
and economical items of which engineers and designers of
pumping stations and conveyance pipelines should take care.
Hammer Software is a recent application used to simulate water
hammer. The present study focuses on determining significance of
each input parameter of the application relative to the maximum
amount of water hammer estimated by the software. The study
determines estimated maximum water hammer variations due to
variations of input parameters including water temperature, pipe
type, thickness and diameter, electromotor rpm and power, and
moment of inertia of electromotor and pump. In our study,
Kuhrang Pumping Station was modeled using WaterGEMS
Software. The pumping station is characterized by total discharge
of 200 liters per second, dynamic height of 194 meters and 1.5
kilometers of steel conveyance pipeline and transports water to
Cheshme Morvarid for farmland irrigation. The model was run in
steady hydraulic condition and transferred to Hammer Software.
Then, the model was run in several unsteady hydraulic conditions
and sensitivity of maximum water hammer to each input parameter
was calculated. It is shown that parameters to which maximum
water hammer is most sensitive are moment of inertia of pump and
electromotor, diameter, type and thickness of pipe and water
temperature, respectively.
Abstract: This paper describes the design concepts and
implementation of a 5-Joint mechanical arm for a rescue robot named
CEO Mission II. The multi-joint arm is a five degree of freedom
mechanical arm with a four bar linkage, which can be stretched to
125 cm. long. It is controlled by a teleoperator via the user-friendly
control and monitoring GUI program. With Inverse Kinematics
principle, we developed the method to control the servo angles of all
arm joints to get the desired tip position. By clicking the determined
tip position or dragging the tip of the mechanical arm on the
computer screen to the desired target point, the robot will compute
and move its multi-joint arm to the pose as seen on the GUI screen.
The angles of each joint are calculated and sent to all joint servos
simultaneously in order to move the mechanical arm to the desired
pose at once. The operator can also use a joystick to control the
movement of this mechanical arm and the locomotion of the robot.
Many sensors are installed at the tip of this mechanical arm for
surveillance from the high level and getting the vital signs of victims
easier and faster in the urban search and rescue tasks. It works very
effectively and easy to control. This mechanical arm and its software
were developed as a part of the CEO Mission II Rescue Robot that
won the First Runner Up award and the Best Technique award from
the Thailand Rescue Robot Championship 2006. It is a low cost,
simple, but functioning 5-Jiont mechanical arm which is built from
scratch, and controlled via wireless LAN 802.11b/g. This 5-Jiont
mechanical arm hardware concept and its software can also be used
as the basic mechatronics to many real applications.
Abstract: this paper presents a novel scheme which is capable of reducing the error rate and improves the transmission performance in the asynchronous cooperative MIMO systems. A case study of image transmission is applied to prove the efficient of scheme. The linear dispersion structure is employed to accommodate the cooperative wireless communication network in the dynamic topology of structure, as well as to achieve higher throughput than conventional space–time codes based on orthogonal designs. The LDPC encoder without girth-4 and the STBC encoder with guard intervals are respectively introduced. The experiment results show that the combined coder of LDPC-STBC with guard intervals can be the good error correcting coders and BER performance in the asynchronous cooperative communication. In the case study of image transmission, the results show that in the transmission process, the image quality which is obtained by applied combined scheme is much better than it which is not applied the scheme in the asynchronous cooperative MIMO systems.
Abstract: The aim of this study is to develop mathematical
relationships for the performance parameter brake thermal efficiency
(BTE) and emission parameter nitrogen oxides (NOx) for the various
esters of vegetable oils used as CI engine fuel. The BTE is an
important performance parameter defining the ability of engine to
utilize the energy supplied and power developed similarly it is
indication of efficiency of fuels used. The esters of cottonseed oil,
soybean oil, jatropha oil and hingan oil are prepared using
transesterification process and characterized for their physical and
main fuel properties including viscosity, density, flash point and
higher heating value using standard test methods. These esters are
tried as CI engine fuel to analyze the performance and emission
parameters in comparison to diesel. The results of the study indicate
that esters as a fuel does not differ greatly with that of diesel in
properties. The CI engine performance with esters as fuel is in line
with the diesel where as the emission parameters are reduced with the
use of esters.
The correlation developed between BTE and brake power(BP),
gross calorific value(CV), air-fuel ratio(A/F), heat carried away by
cooling water(HCW). Another equation is developed between the
NOx emission and CO, HC, smoke density (SD), exhaust gas
temperature (EGT). The equations are verified by comparing the
observed and calculated values which gives the coefficient of
correlation of 0.99 and 0.96 for the BTE and NOx equations
respectively.
Abstract: E-Learning systems are used by many learners and
teachers. The developer is developing the e-Learning system. However,
the developer cannot do system construction to satisfy all of
users- demands. We discuss a method of constructing e-Learning
systems where learners and teachers can design, try to use, and share
extending system functions that they want to use; which may be nally
added to the system by system managers.
Abstract: As the mobile Internet has become widespread in
recent years, communication based on mobile networks is increasing.
As a result, security threats have been posed with regard to the
abnormal traffic of mobile networks, but mobile security has been
handled with focus on threats posed by mobile malicious codes, and
researches on security threats to the mobile network itself have not
attracted much attention. In mobile networks, the IP address of the data
packet is a very important factor for billing purposes. If one mobile
terminal use an incorrect IP address that either does not exist or could
be assigned to another mobile terminal, billing policy will cause
problems. We monitor and analyze 3G mobile data networks traffics
for a period of time and finds some abnormal IP packets. In this paper,
we analyze the reason for abnormal IP packets on 3G Mobile Data
Networks. And we also propose an algorithm based on IP address table
that contains addresses currently in use within the mobile data network
to detect abnormal IP packets.
Abstract: Pyritisation halos are identified in weathering crusts and unconsolidated formations at five locations within large fault structure of the Urals’ eastern slope. Electron microscopy reveals the presence of inclusions and growths on pyrite faces – normally on cubic pyrite with striations, or combinations of cubes and other forms. Following neogenesis types are established: native elements and intermetallic compounds (including gold and silver), halogenides, sulphides, sulfosalts, tellurides, sulphotellurides,
selenides, tungstates, sulphates, phosphates, carbon-based substances. Direct relationship is noted between amount and diversity of such mineral phases, and proximity to and scale of ore-grade mineralization. Gold and silver, both in native form and within tellurides, presence of lead (galena, native lead), native tungsten, and, possibly, molybdenite and sulfosalts can indicate gold-bearing formations. First find of native tungsten in the Urals is for the first time – in crystallised and druse-like form. Link is suggested between unusual mineralization and “reducing” hydrothermal fluids from deep-seated faults at later stages of Urals’ reactivation.
Abstract: Coal tar is a liquid by-product of the process of coal
gasification and carbonation. This liquid oil mixture contains various
kinds of useful compounds such as phenol, o-cresol, and p-cresol.
These compounds are widely used as raw material for insecticides,
dyes, medicines, perfumes, coloring matters, and many others.
This research needed to be done that given the optimum conditions
for the separation of phenol, o-cresol, and p-cresol from the coal tar
by solvent extraction process. The aim of the present work was to
study the effect of two kinds of aqueous were used as solvents:
methanol and acetone solutions, the effect of temperature (298, 306,
and 313K) and mixing (30, 35, and 40rpm) for the separation of
phenol, o-cresol, and p-cresol from coal tar by solvent extraction.
Results indicated that phenol, o-cresol, and p-cresol in coal tar
were selectivity extracted into the solvent phase and these
components could be separated by solvent extraction. The aqueous
solution of methanol, mass ratio of solvent to feed, Eo/Ro=1,
extraction temperature 306K and mixing 35 rpm were the most
efficient for extraction of phenol, o-cresol, and p-cresol from coal tar.
Abstract: The “PYRAMIDS" Block Cipher is a symmetric encryption algorithm of a 64, 128, 256-bit length, that accepts a variable key length of 128, 192, 256 bits. The algorithm is an iterated cipher consisting of repeated applications of a simple round transformation with different operations and different sequence in each round. The algorithm was previously software implemented in Cµ code. In this paper, a hardware implementation of the algorithm, using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), is presented. In this work, we discuss the algorithm, the implemented micro-architecture, and the simulation and implementation results. Moreover, we present a detailed comparison with other implemented standard algorithms. In addition, we include the floor plan as well as the circuit diagrams of the various micro-architecture modules.
Abstract: Designing and implementing intelligent systems has become a crucial factor for the innovation and development of better products of space technologies. A neural network is a parallel system, capable of resolving paradigms that linear computing cannot. Field programmable gate array (FPGA) is a digital device that owns reprogrammable properties and robust flexibility. For the neural network based instrument prototype in real time application, conventional specific VLSI neural chip design suffers the limitation in time and cost. With low precision artificial neural network design, FPGAs have higher speed and smaller size for real time application than the VLSI and DSP chips. So, many researchers have made great efforts on the realization of neural network (NN) using FPGA technique. In this paper, an introduction of ANN and FPGA technique are briefly shown. Also, Hardware Description Language (VHDL) code has been proposed to implement ANNs as well as to present simulation results with floating point arithmetic. Synthesis results for ANN controller are developed using Precision RTL. Proposed VHDL implementation creates a flexible, fast method and high degree of parallelism for implementing ANN. The implementation of multi-layer NN using lookup table LUT reduces the resource utilization for implementation and time for execution.
Abstract: This study reports results of a meta-analytic path analysis e-learning Acceptance Model with k = 27 studies, Databases searched included Information Sciences Institute (ISI) website. Variables recorded included perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward behavior, and behavioral intention to use e-learning. A correlation matrix of these variables was derived from meta-analytic data and then analyzed by using structural path analysis to test the fitness of the e-learning acceptance model to the observed aggregated data. Results showed the revised hypothesized model to be a reasonable, good fit to aggregated data. Furthermore, discussions and implications are given in this article.
Abstract: The main objective of this paper is to provide an efficient tool for delineating brain tumors in three-dimensional magnetic resonance images. To achieve this goal, we use basically a level-sets approach to delineating three-dimensional brain tumors. Then we introduce a compression plan of 3D brain structures based for the meshes simplification, adapted for time to the specific needs of the telemedicine and to the capacities restricted by network communication. We present here the main stages of our system, and preliminary results which are very encouraging for clinical practice.
Abstract: This study uses simulated meta-analysis to assess the effects of publication bias on meta-analysis estimates and to evaluate the efficacy of the trim and fill method in adjusting for these biases. The estimated effect sizes and the standard error were evaluated in terms of the statistical bias and the coverage probability. The results demonstrate that if publication bias is not adjusted it could lead to up to 40% bias in the treatment effect estimates. Utilization of the trim and fill method could reduce the bias in the overall estimate by more than half. The method is optimum in presence of moderate underlying bias but has minimal effects in presence of low and severe publication bias. Additionally, the trim and fill method improves the coverage probability by more than half when subjected to the same level of publication bias as those of the unadjusted data. The method however tends to produce false positive results and will incorrectly adjust the data for publication bias up to 45 % of the time. Nonetheless, the bias introduced into the estimates due to this adjustment is minimal
