Abstract: This study is expected to compress true color image with compression algorithms in color spaces to provide high compression rates. The need of high compression ratio is to improve storage space. Alternative aim is to rank compression algorithms in a suitable color space. The dataset is sequence of true color images with size 128 x 128. HAAR Wavelet is one of the famous wavelet transforms, has great potential and maintains image quality of color images. HAAR wavelet Transform using Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees (SPIHT) algorithm with different color spaces framework is applied to compress sequence of images with angles. Embedded Zerotrees of Wavelet (EZW) is a powerful standard method to sequence data. Hence the proposed compression frame work of HAAR wavelet, xyz color space, morphological gradient and applied image with EZW compression, obtained improvement to other methods, in terms of Compression Ratio, Mean Square Error, Peak Signal Noise Ratio and Bits Per Pixel quality measures.
Abstract: This paper presents a method for single image dehazing based on dark channel prior (DCP). The property that the intensity of the dark channel gives an approximate thickness of the haze is used to estimate the transmission and atmospheric light. Instead of constant atmospheric light, the proposed method employs scene depth to estimate spatially varying atmospheric light as it truly occurs in nature. Haze imaging model together with the soft matting method has been used in this work to produce high quality haze free image. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach produces better results than the classic DCP approach as color fidelity and contrast of haze free image are improved and no over-saturation in the sky region is observed. Further, lifting Haar wavelet transform is employed to reduce overall execution time by a factor of two to three as compared to the conventional approach.
Abstract: The system is designed to show images which are
related to the query image. Extracting color, texture, and shape
features from an image plays a vital role in content-based image
retrieval (CBIR). Initially RGB image is converted into HSV color
space due to its perceptual uniformity. From the HSV image, Color
features are extracted using block color histogram, texture features
using Haar transform and shape feature using Fuzzy C-means
Algorithm. Then, the characteristics of the global and local color
histogram, texture features through co-occurrence matrix and Haar
wavelet transform and shape are compared and analyzed for CBIR.
Finally, the best method of each feature is fused during similarity
measure to improve image retrieval effectiveness and accuracy.
Abstract: The Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) which is a doublestranded helix of nucleotides consists of: Adenine (A), Cytosine (C), Guanine (G) and Thymine (T). In this work, we convert this genetic code into an equivalent digital signal representation. Applying a wavelet transform, such as Haar wavelet, we will be able to extract details that are not so clear in the original genetic code. We compare between different organisms using the results of the Haar wavelet Transform. This is achieved by using the trend part of the signal since the trend part bears the most energy of the digital signal representation. Consequently, we will be able to quantitatively reconstruct different biological families.
Abstract: In present paper we proposed a simple and effective method to compress an image. Here we found success in size reduction of an image without much compromising with it-s quality. Here we used Haar Wavelet Transform to transform our original image and after quantization and thresholding of DWT coefficients Run length coding and Huffman coding schemes have been used to encode the image. DWT is base for quite populate JPEG 2000 technique.
Abstract: Ethnicity identification of face images is of interest in
many areas of application, but existing methods are few and limited.
This paper presents a fusion scheme that uses block-based uniform
local binary patterns and Haar wavelet transform to combine local
and global features. In particular, the LL subband coefficients of the
whole face are fused with the histograms of uniform local binary
patterns from block partitions of the face. We applied the principal
component analysis on the fused features and managed to reduce the
dimensionality of the feature space from 536 down to around 15
without sacrificing too much accuracy. We have conducted a number
of preliminary experiments using a collection of 746 subject face
images. The test results show good accuracy and demonstrate the
potential of fusing global and local features. The fusion approach is
robust, making it easy to further improve the identification at both
feature and score levels.
Abstract: Wavelet transform or wavelet analysis is a recently
developed mathematical tool in applied mathematics. In numerical
analysis, wavelets also serve as a Galerkin basis to solve partial
differential equations. Haar transform or Haar wavelet transform has
been used as a simplest and earliest example for orthonormal wavelet
transform. Since its popularity in wavelet analysis, there are several
definitions and various generalizations or algorithms for calculating
Haar transform. Fast Haar transform, FHT, is one of the algorithms
which can reduce the tedious calculation works in Haar transform. In
this paper, we present a modified fast and exact algorithm for FHT,
namely Modified Fast Haar Transform, MFHT. The algorithm or
procedure proposed allows certain calculation in the process
decomposition be ignored without affecting the results.
Abstract: It is well known that during the developments in the
economic sector and through the financial crises occur everywhere in
the whole world, volatility measurement is the most important
concept in financial time series. Therefore in this paper we discuss
the volatility for Amman stocks market (Jordan) for certain period of
time. Since wavelet transform is one of the most famous filtering
methods and grows up very quickly in the last decade, we compare
this method with the traditional technique, Fast Fourier transform to
decide the best method for analyzing the volatility. The comparison
will be done on some of the statistical properties by using Matlab
program.
