Abstract: Multi-point forming (MPF) and asymmetric incremental forming (ISF) are two flexible processes for sheet metal manufacturing. To take advantages of these two techniques, a hybrid process has been developed: The Multipoint Incremental Forming (MPIF). This process accumulates at once the advantages of each of these last mentioned forming techniques, which makes it a very interesting and particularly an efficient process for single, small, and medium series production. In this paper, an experimental and a numerical investigation of this technique are presented. To highlight the flexibility of this process and its capacity to manufacture standard and complex shapes, several pieces were produced by using MPIF. The forming experiments are performed on a 3-axis CNC machine. Moreover, a numerical model of the MPIF process has been implemented in ABAQUS and the analysis showed a good agreement with experimental results in terms of deformed shape. Furthermore, the use of an elastomeric interpolator allows avoiding classical local defaults like dimples, which are generally caused by the asymmetric contact and also improves the distribution of residual strain. Future works will apply this approach to other alloys used in aeronautic or automotive applications.
Abstract: The ideal sinc filter, ignoring the noise statistics, is often
applied for generating an arbitrary sample of a bandlimited signal by
using the uniformly sampled data. In this article, an optimal interpolator is proposed; it reaches a minimum mean square error (MMSE)
at its output in the presence of noise. The resulting interpolator is
thus a Wiener filter, and both the optimal infinite impulse response
(IIR) and finite impulse response (FIR) filters are presented. The
mean square errors (MSE-s) for the interpolator of different length
impulse responses are obtained by computer simulations; it shows that
the MSE-s of the proposed interpolators with a reasonable length are
improved about 0.4 dB under flat power spectra in noisy environment with signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) equal 10 dB. As expected,
the results also demonstrate the improvements for the MSE-s with various fractional delays of the optimal interpolator against the ideal
sinc filter under a fixed length impulse response.
Abstract: This paper study the high-level modelling and design
of delta-sigma (ΔΣ) noise shapers for audio Digital-to-Analog
Converter (DAC) so as to eliminate the in-band Signal-to-Noise-
Ratio (SNR) degradation that accompany one channel mismatch in
audio signal. The converter combines a cascaded digital signal
interpolation, a noise-shaping single loop delta-sigma modulator with
a 5-bit quantizer resolution in the final stage. To reduce sensitivity of
Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) nonlinearities of the last stage, a
high pass second order Data Weighted Averaging (R2DWA) is
introduced. This paper presents a MATLAB description modelling
approach of the proposed DAC architecture with low distortion and
swing suppression integrator designs. The ΔΣ Modulator design can
be configured as a 3rd-order and allows 24-bit PCM at sampling rate
of 64 kHz for Digital Video Disc (DVD) audio application. The
modeling approach provides 139.38 dB of dynamic range for a 32
kHz signal band at -1.6 dBFS input signal level.
Abstract: Owning to the high-speed feed rate and ultra spindle
speed have been used in modern machine tools, the tool-path
generation plays a key role in the successful application of a
High-Speed Machining (HSM) system. Because of its importance in
both high-speed machining and tool-path generation, approximating a
contour by NURBS format is a potential function in CAD/CAM/CNC
systems. It is much more convenient to represent an ellipse by
parametric form than to connect points laboriously determined in a
CNC system. A new approximating method based on optimum
processes and NURBS curves of any degree to the ellipses is presented
in this study. Such operations can be the foundation of tool-radius
compensation interpolator of NURBS curves in CNC system. All
operating processes for a CAD tool is presented and demonstrated by
practical models.
Abstract: We present a novel scheme to evaluate sinusoidal functions with low complexity and high precision using cubic spline interpolation. To this end, two different approaches are proposed to find the interpolating polynomial of sin(x) within the range [- π , π]. The first one deals with only a single data point while the other with two to keep the realization cost as low as possible. An approximation error optimization technique for cubic spline interpolation is introduced next and is shown to increase the interpolator accuracy without increasing complexity of the associated hardware. The architectures for the proposed approaches are also developed, which exhibit flexibility of implementation with low power requirement.
Abstract: Rapid Application Development (RAD) enables ever
expanding needs for speedy development of computer application
programs that are sophisticated, reliable, and full-featured. Visual
Basic was the first RAD tool for the Windows operating system, and
too many people say still it is the best. To provide very good
attraction in visual basic 6 applications, this paper directing to use
VRML scenes over the visual basic environment.
