Abstract: This research aimed at investigating the Cr (III), Cd
(II) and Pb (II) removal efficiencies by using the newly synthesized
metal oxides/ polyethersulfone (PES), Al2O3/PES and ZrO2/PES,
membranes from synthetic wastewater and exploring fouling
mechanisms. A Comparative study between the removal efficiencies
of Cr (III), Cd (II) and Pb (II) from synthetic and natural wastewater
by using adsorption onto agricultural by products and the newly
synthesized Al2O3/PES and ZrO2/PES membranes was conducted to
assess the advantages and limitations of using the metal oxides/PES
membranes for heavy metals removal. The results showed that about
99 % and 88 % removal efficiencies were achieved by the tested
membranes for Pb (II) and Cr (III), respectively.
Abstract: In recent years, most of the regions in the world are
exposed to degradation and erosion caused by increasing
population and over use of land resources. The understanding of
the most important factors on soil erosion and sediment yield are
the main keys for decision making and planning. In this study, the
sediment yield and soil erosion were estimated and the priority of
different soil erosion factors used in the MPSIAC method of soil
erosion estimation is evaluated in AliAbad watershed in southwest
of Isfahan Province, Iran. Different information layers of the
parameters were created using a GIS technique. Then, a
multivariate procedure was applied to estimate sediment yield and
to find the most important factors of soil erosion in the model. The
results showed that land use, geology, land and soil cover are the
most important factors describing the soil erosion estimated by
MPSIAC model.
Abstract: In this research three methods of Maximum Likelihood, Mahalanobis Distance and Minimum Distance were analyzed in the Western part of Isfahan province in the Iran country. For this purpose, the IRS satellite images and various land preparation uses in region including rangelands, irrigation farming, dry farming, gardens and urban areas were separated and identified. In these methods, matrix error and Kappa index were calculated and accuracy of each method, based on percentages: 53.13, 56.64 and 48.44, were obtained respectively. Considering the low accuracy of these methods to separate land uses due to spread of the land uses, it-s suggested the visual interpretation of the map, to preparing the land use map in this region. The map prepared by visual interpretation is in high accuracy if it will be accompany with the visit of the region.
